jawillwill Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 My biggest problem is that I can't access the thing. I have a customer number, but when I try and register it says I already am registered. I have no idea what my user name or password is though if I have. SNSUN Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 Initially the biggest problem with the system is that I didn't have a customer number. A quick email to the ticket office fixed that. It's a good system, otherwise.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 Absolutely, whenever i try and get tickets for upper blocks 41 or 42 i always end up getting seats more than halfway down so end having to sit down for half the game!

Joesaint Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 i said it would be cool if tickets could be bought at the west key store; i have a season ticket so doesnt really bother me just thought for convience, maybe for some people and may be-able to advitise it a bit more in there to try and temp people to but tickets evan as presents maybe. brmbrm Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 Ditto, I told them that and also that there are often problems logging in ! Hopefully if enough people say the same thing then we may progress somewhat ! Did the survey then read the tread - i agree with all of this: sometimes problems logging on and can't choose specific seats means its useless if buying tickets for friends. Nice to be asked though. Now, decent beer in the concourses!

Yep, me too - suggested they had some software whereby you could select your own, or a specific seat for Cup ties or if buying for friends who want to sit near by etc.

I has a similar problem and just Emailed the club. I think I sent it to the Ticket Office Email address from the Club / Contact us link. tickets@saintsfc.co.uk Had top rate response from Kelly Southwell, Supporter Services Assistant. Redbul Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 Done, cheers for that. While I'm here, does anyone know how to edit your 'friends' list? There's only an 'Add friend' link, not 'Delete friend'. I know, that sounds a bit like you've just ordered an online hit, but you know what I mean!!!! mancsaint Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 Very strange that I contacted David the other day to ask why the online system didn't have a way of picking an individual seat and be able to get a view of the pitch from any given seat, FC Basel have this system and it's great. David replied that the system was being improved and that a software update was some months down the line and hey presto ....a survey. I'm not taking any credit for the initiative. CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 After years of frustration I have wonder of wonders (just this week as it happens) finally been able to buy a match ticket on the bloody online booking system - as I've done nothing different to my knowledge I wonder if the system has been 'debugged' at last . Not before time if it has .

trousers Posted 6 January, 2010 Share Posted 6 January, 2010 (edited) Same 'gripe' for me re: specific seat selection. They must have some sort of computer system in place already that facilitates this as the ticket office staff manning the booking phone lines are able to select specific seats for you. Just a 'simple' matter of joining the front end and back end systems together i'd have thought. Or, as others have suggested, buy one of those cinema seat booking software packages off the shelf. Reib80 Posted 7 January, 2010 Share Posted 7 January, 2010 I'm on the online ticket sales section at the moment (http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/OnlineSales/0,,10280,00.html) and trying to register so I can book tickets online but it wants me to input my customer number. Thing is, I dont have one (last game I went to was about 3 years ago due to me being in the Marines). So, I guess it means I have to call the ticket office to book. Surely they should have had a way that you could initially register for a customer number online? Weird! Oh well, I'll give them a call.

A few years ago, when we were in the Prem I asked this question and was informed that they did not intend to give access to the seating system as a matter of policy ! The reason given was that people would keep space around them, meaning that block bookings would not be possible ! Personally, I don't accept this theory but that is what I was told at the time ! Airlines and cinemas seem to manage so I don't see why a football match should be different ! Let's see what happens after the new survey though ?? The Incongruous Monk Posted 7 January, 2010 Share Posted 7 January, 2010 Was on the verge of sending a pretty extensive email to the TO after a painful experience trying to buy Luton tickets. Dumped all my thoughts on this instead. It's about 4 questions and takes no time. If you've any interest in online sales please, please complete the survey :-)

krissyboy31 Posted 7 January, 2010 Share Posted 7 January, 2010 I think it's a pretty decent system and use it all the time. The improvement I would like to see is a Block by Block seat map, which shows seats available in real time, to make the seating choice more flexible. Otherwise it's fine (which is more than could be said about the rest of the web-site).
Hamwic Posted 7 January, 2010 Share Posted 7 January, 2010 Just to add my voice; my gripe was also about not being able to select specific seats. With a bit of luck this common denominator will get through to the club.

Airlines and cinemas seem to manage so I don't see why a football match should be different ! Let's see what happens after the new survey though ?? This is a key point which I hadn't appreciated. I see what they're getting at; many people trying to book two seats, wouldn't deliberately leave one seat between there party and the next taken seats. This would result in an uneven spread of seats being used and would make it tough for people trying to buy groups of two or more tickets at a later date. The only solution would be for the club would be to try and offer a seat booking system which has been customised by its providers to prevent this sort of seat selection behaviour. I wonder if this sort of thing wouldn't be available 'off the shelf' and might therefore be deemed to be prohibitively expensive for the club to provide. Perhaps a sensible compromise would be to offer a system that allows you to specify row alongside block, but then preselects seats for you.
