Well done Cortese

Thank you Cortese for ruining the team morale. Did not sound like the players we're up for it tonight. A manager who brought to the club the likes of RL, Barnard, Fonte etc, installs togetherness and a winning mentality, and then gets sacked. How are the players going to respond? Lowe getting rid of Pearson was one thing, but getting rid of Pardew was a whole lot worse in my view.

The egotistical, arrogant and frankly quite pathetic Nicola(girls name), has just put this team back to square one. IDIOT.

This is the same Cortese that convinced Liebherr to buy us? If it wasn't for Cortese then we wouldn't have been bought by Liebherr. If it wasn't for Cortese we wouldn't have been able to acquire Pardew as our manager a year ago. If it wasn't for Cortese we wouldn't have even bought players such as Lambert, Barnard and Fonte. Yes I don't agree with decision to sack Pardew, but just think we wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Cortese.

As for the Lowe comparison wait at least until we get a new manager before you jump to such conclusions.

Listened on Solent and players sounded like they couldn't give a toss! Terrible and embarrassing! I wouldn't have minded losing 1-0 but 3-0 at home is embarrassing. Cortese needs to sort out something special ready for the weekend because I think that Rochdale could easily embarrass us then aswell. They looked good vs Birmingham the other night. Be prepared for a low crowd on Saturday!

Anyone who said that the sacking would not effect our chances of promotion, think again.

We are run by a mad man who will only appoint someone that he can control.

I thought the situation at this club was always too good to be true, maybe it was. We've possibly erased all the good work of last season already.

Give it a rest you whining mong.

You still do not know the full circumstances of why NC made such a sudden move, especially as it now appears that he has no replacement already planned. He acknowledged in the press statement that the disruption witnessed tonight could happen. Do you not think he would have considered the potential consequences ? There must be a pretty big reason he removed Pardew at such short notice.

IMO the players should be ashamed about how they behaved like big time precious prima-donnas.

I, like many others, don't know what went on behind the scenes.

I think sacking AP after such a short tenure is freely admittiing he thinks he made a mistake employing him in the first place, in his eyes, well,he's made one big ****ing error in sacking him.

NCs' interview techniques must be **** poor if he thinks he made such an error of judgment.

Therefore,on that basis he has made two huge balls ups,is he fit to be chairman in that case?

Interesting that now Pardew has gone and you obviouly can't have a go at Cortese as you have nailed your colours well and truly to his mast you finally turn on the players Alps!

At present I will give NC the benefit of doubt as we dont know what goes on behind the scenes, he surely knows that the wrong appointment will put the fans back up even more and I wouldnt be surprised if he pulls a cat out of the bag and appeases certain posters on here for five minutes before they start battering him again. I have so far held off giving him any abuse but I am on the edge if he doesnt get this decision , the biggest of his chairmanship here right.

You are just loving it, arent you ?

After the all the piety you threw at me over the past few years

Of course I am not. I am gutted that we lost and I am gutted that we have just sacked a decent manager. But you and others were telling us how we should have put everything into the league so we can see how that works for us now can't we.

Yes. NC faces the biggest decision he will ever make during his tenure at SFC.

I wasn't at the game and unlike you Alps. If you ever bothered to read my posts I asked why does the manager always get the blame and not the players - to date you have always found it easy to have a pop at the manager - what has changed tonight?

Then f---ing tell us whats going on then, NC has made some shocking calls of late and made no explanations for any of them, to be honest he's the one that has behaved like a 'big time precious prima-donnas'

Because they so clearly didnt bother turning up.

You blame NC for tonight - have the balls to admit it, and that it goes against everything you've ever said before along the lines of "NC wasnt out on the pitch"

Nope. He has done some things to maximise revenue in order to continue funding the team, thats all.

I do not know what is going on; on the surface, it looks like he has made a god-awful decision, but I am certain he had his reasons.

He is making too many god-awful decisions alpine.

Banning Benali and MLT from St Marys, excellent.

banning all external photographers from the ground and getting them to pay for photos to put in their papers - genius.

falling out with the builders so the staplewood project is dead - fantastic.

the guy is really starting to do my head in, and it's getting to a point where he cannot be defended anymore.

I appreciate you are in a very difficult position tonight Alps have wanted to see the back of Pardew for months and backing Cortese to the hilt in every decsion he has made, so I will leave you alone to digest just what is happening (AGAIN) to this football club.

It is the chairman's right, in any business, to sack the manager, or any staff if he feels it is in the best interests of the company/club. Until those staff have been replaced we won't know if he has made the right decision or not, and even then we have to be patient.

At the end of the day, we'll just have to wait and see.

Sorry for the sensible post.

Come of it ffs. Nobody knows the reason for AP's sacking. I'm unhappy about the decision as much as everyone else, but who is to say it wasn't AP's fault?.

Lets just wait and see who replaces him.

Agreed, lets see who replaces him, football fans can be very fickle, and in six months time we could be challenging a top spot, everyone would of then forgotten about Pardew and this episode.

Who said Staplewood is dead ?

And this is the first I've heard about Franny and Matty being banned; I heard Franny's company was booted out, but the rest is made-up.

Top post. If AP wasnt going to do what he was told, NC had every right to replace him.

He could have had a replacement lined up first though.

look, we have every right to start doubting Cortese's competence. He has just sacked a perfectly good - nay, excellent - and proven manager for this league. If he hasn't appointed a ****ing big name by the next home game after Saturday then he will start to resemble Lowe. He had better realise quickly that his ego has always got to be subservient to the manager's ego. Get it right Cortese. And get it right soon.

To be fair, he may well have someone lined up, but cant be seen to be doing the hiring a day after the firing! as this may have an effect on the obvious compensation that Pardew is going to claim, AP then may have a case for unfair dismissal as well.

No Alpine he is f---cking things up big time, all he's doing is alienating us fans again, no payment plan, no renewal notices, pay to park, pay more on the day of the game, pay more for on-line sales, this is not maximising revenue this is alienating existing customers and putting of potential customers!

I've had a season ticket for 21 years until this, and I'm not missing it 1 bit, I'm glad I'm out of it, from the outside (which I am now) I can see it clearly now. Tell you what mate pop down to M & S in Hedge End and put a charge on the parking there, see what happens to their customer numbers!

well ,well, well!!!what a wierd few days it has been

On Saturday al lwas great in the world...a 4-0 win away from home to kick start the season and the expectation of one or two signings to boost the team.....

Then the bombshell explodes and the world we thought existed down at Staplewood is blown right open...........feelings of excitement and hope blown away down the street....a sudden chil in the air........oh well, maybe Mr Cortese will run down the road and catch the excitement and rekindle the hope after a few hours and add another member to the family in order to lessen the feeling of confusion.

And maybe a new present will draw the family together for the wake and as painful as it may be we will all start to move on and get back in the swing of things.

Well Mr Cortese in his grief may have compounded the grief of the city in the last day or two..........to me, we have lost two people who for very different reasons did a hell of alot for this club and for two very different reasons have been taken from us with no (apparent) good reason.

It may only have been the JPT tonight and although I couldnt bring myself to attend, listening to the game remimnded me of all the bad times we have had in the last few years.

My fear is this will only get worse before it gets better.....Mr Cortese, unless you have some master stroke to pull out of the hat by the weekend this could be a nasty few weeks.

And Im an optimist!!!!!!!
