Off topic ish but whats the crack with the training ground anyway... can you go down and watch the players train and have a look around as you wish or is everything behind closed doors. Never been down there before and would like to. I think someone confirmed before that all reserver games are behind closed doors but im guessing if they are going to put a new stand in then this will change???

To me, these sound like extra plans on top of the already agreed plans before?

It could be that they want to make changes to the already agreed plan and have had to re-submit the plans for some parts. That's not uncommon for any planning application if changes are made after approval. It can even be really simple stuff, it doesn't have to be particularly complicated.

Echo suggests they are bigger and better than the previous development proposals. Put's paid to those rumours that there is no money available from the family?

Not if the money had already been set aside for the development before Markus' death and Cortese's been spending the time since the original announcement renegotiating the contracts to get better value for money... it could be at the same cost for a bigger project. There must be SOME reason why the original plans didn't happen and the delay has occurred.

The key here is whether the money was tied up by Markus prior to the original announcement.

I doubt the contracts were renegotiated to get better value for money, that doesn't happen in the COnstruction industry. More like they went back to the plans and revisited what they were going to do, where savings/improvements could be made before going out to tender with a scope of work NC was fully happy with.

Maybe after Reed amd Hunter arrived they suggested a few things. Maybe as the Echo suggests, they have merely done a bit more research at other Academy/training grounds and decided to implement more and better improvements.

God forbid this is actually a good thing.....although it appears to have been delayed Cortese said that when they announced it first time round that they had actually brought it forward in the overall plan. I would have thought that the important thing is to get the best project they can in time for the Prem....

No money.....my Rse!!!!

That pretty much sounds like the same thing to me - bearing in mind Cortese appears to have put the kibosh on the original deal for reasons which remain unclear. Better outcome, but same costs, better value for money.

Are we sure it is the same company? I highly doubt it.
