...since AP was sacked, and how are we all feeling?

Personally, I was extremely ****ed off when it happened, I felt it was undeserved. However, I was also happy with NA's appointment.

I personally blamed NC for the issues, but you know what, the man blatantly knows better than I do. So NC, fairplay, you were right to make the changes, and I am sorry for doubting you.

Here's to promotion in the Summer (it is in our own hands now)!!

For me there is one pertinent question :

Would we be up there in an auto promotion spot with our fate in our own hands if Pardew was still here and Adkins wasnt ?

My feeling is no, we wouldnt have been. I also dont think NC would have been as willing to finance the transfers we are hoping NA is on the verge of completing, if Pardew was still here.

Overall, I see no reason at all to look back in anger...

Much the same as you DPS, i was quite annoyed by the sacking and i felt it was unjust at the time - but we don't really know what was going on in the background at the time nor will we ever find out. But you have to say that the decision at the moment looks like the right one.

I loved the appointment of Nigel, felt it was excellent. He's a modern, forward thinking manager and can go all the way with us - there aren't too many young managers around with his talent, I really rate the guy and have since day 1.

It does all look really positive now with the excitement of another transfer window coming up, and with the benefit of hindsight it does look like Nicola has made the correct choice for the long-term.

Happy and proud to be a Saints fan. we are in a fortunate position and we should all be grateful (Which i am sure we all are) to be in this position. What a difference 18mnths can do. Thanks Markus. forever in your debt. Exciting times ahead.

Yep I feel exactly the same. I was livid when AP was sacked but as info has seeped out of the club it seems like NC made the right decision.

I feel more positive about Saints right now than I have in a long time, but unless we string a few more wins together I can't quite escape the apprehension that we'll **** it up in the next game!

Long may the success continue under Nigel

We're going over old ground here but the sacking clearly wasn't driven by results. There must have been something behind the scenes (and we've all got wild theories about what) which none of us really know.

Was happy with Pardew. Happy with Adkins. C'est la vie.

Footballers are a cynical bunch and it takes time to win them over - ask Houllier, Hodgson, Luggy, Strachan and every manager since the game first started.

It seems that they are really buying into Adkins and his styles and systems, and he's starting to get more out of Pardew's players than Pardew was able to get out of them.

But this wasn't just about winning in Cortese's eyes - it was about winning with style. And that seems to be developing nicely as well. It speaks volumes for Adkins that he's doing all this with - for the most part - another manager's players.

Same for me.. ( i WILL NEVER FORGET THE FOUNDATION PARDS BUILT) Well done Saints..

Well done NC and NA..

But keep it going..

Same could be said for Puncheon ..hopefully with another good replacement.

Was still annoyed of aps sacking and unsure of NA untill the last 3/4 games as he wasn't getting the best out of lambert and hes clearly one of our key players along with lallana but hes managed to get him his confidence back and were seeing the rewards.

But we have a super good squad who will finish top 2 easy with a good manager seems as so we have found him, but its not the end of the season yet and NA now knows if he finishes below 6th hes out of a job.

IMO THE Best thing to happen to us and NA was not playing for a while it gave players a rest and a chance to work on the training ground to get use to his methods.

I was neither here nor there after pardew...felt he could have got us into the playoffs..but overall, he did pretty well...added with a great day out..

I was delighted with adkins and could not really understand the utter snobs on here that had him fired before the seasons end...

I really hope we go up top 2 with this guy as I like what he is about...

I agree with this. I personally think that Pardew would have us around 2-4th place by this point in the season and would have been confident he could have delivered automatic promotion. A poor start to the season is not alien to great managers like Moyes so I wasn't too concerned with our start and I am sure we would have hit form under Pardew.

But he's gone, and Adkins can and will deliver automatic promotion this season, so I couldn't be happier.
