Time to drop Chaplow

Been awful for a fair few games now. Lacks composure and strength, dives in and often misses the simple pass. Stephens looked much more better in the middle when he came on, id start with him next game. Plus he has much more hair, looks nicer

Didn't see the game today but would like to see Stephens play against Charlton on Tuesday. He sounds like a composed playmaker, something that we lack when Schneiderlin isn't in the side. Stick him in alongside Hammond in the centre. Chaplow has done well for us but it sounds like his form is deteriorating and at this point we can't afford to have weak links in our team.

I thought Chaplow and Hammond worked hard today but just didn't get the breaks. I thought Harding was the weak link today, every touch of his was either a cross which went over and above every player, or he put other players in trouble with his passing. But I suppose every player has off days and it does none of them any good to run them down.

The fact is that today being one of chaps better games is exactly the problem. When deano is off just a little bit we need someone who is simply better than chaplow at controlling things and taking responsibility for midfield control. Forte will get the headlines but we were so much better in the middle without chaplow on the pitch failing to really have any impact AGAIN. New guy looked good to me. He looks more likely to help out when hammond doesnt quite hit his usually very high standards. Chaplow is good when the team is good. Centre mids cant afford to have too much of this in their game.

Does Chaplow offer less to our MF than Hammond ? Personally I doubt it, and there were numerous times today when Hammond seemed to mistime a pass or tackle thin air.But either would be in the team ahead of Guly.

Chaplow on occasion seems to be a little lightweight in this league and gets muscled off the ball at times. Also his performances aren't that consistent and can see why he hasn't settles into a side long term. That said, when he does play well he is an asset to the team and is good going forward behind the strikers.

Would like to see Stephens given a go as he could be a better option.

Hammond was poor and terribly lazy for the first 70 minutes. Defensive mid is not his position for sure

Well i'd say he's been one of the stand out performers over the last 2 months whilst playing in defensive midfield.
