dannysfc Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 So we all now know that it is Huddersfield v Peterboro in the League One Play Off Final next Sunday and I would like to know who would you be the most scared of playing next season in either Huddersfield or Peterboro who ever makes the Championship next season when the new fixtures come out!?! I would more than likely be more scared of playing Peterboro if they go up as there'l more than likely still have Mackail-Smith, Boyd, Tomlin Etc still there and will more than likely pose more of a threat than Huddersfield (No Offence!) seeing as the 4-4 game at there place showed and the game at our place as I think we could beat either one of them at home again but we'l see who we'l be playing come May 29th! Thoughts? Thanks! COYR !!
sfc4prem Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 I'd be more scared of Huddersfield.
SNSUN Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 Neither. They should be scared of us.
Nexstar Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 We're better than both, so I wouldn't be scared of either. Not sure how you came to the conclusion that Posh would be worse than Huddersfield though, as Town finished 3rd and haven't lost since December 28th. They would also retain their best players; Pilkington, Novak, Peltier, Lee etc.
thorpie the sinner Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 Think Posh will be losing Boyd, CMS et al by all accounts regardless!
Colinjb Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 It doesn't matter. We shouldn't be scared of anyone.
SaintAndy14 Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 Think Posh will be losing Boyd, CMS et al by all accounts regardless! Yeah, which is why Posh may be easier. Plus we never seem to do well away at Hudds. Hudds deserve to come up though, and I hope they do (don't like Fergie Jr!).
saints-cris Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 If P'boro go up they will be hopeless.. they'll have a hell of a hard time replacing Boyd and CMS, which is the only reason they are doing well tbh. Hudds are a better team, but we romped them 4-1 last time out but im sure theyve improved. Regardless, I think we'll do better than either of them next season whoever goes up. shurlock Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 (edited) Would be happy to play either - but Peterboro would worry me more than Udders at least right now. You know what you're going to get with Udders - they're a resilient team but nothing special. Their directness and strength from setpieces are easy to set up against and play into strengths. There have been times when we've not retained the ball well enough which is dangerous against a team like Peterboro which is good in possession. Their greater movement and craft would also ask questions of our defense and midfield which isn't blessed with pace. Yep they're ****e defensively but they have tightened up under ferguson and have learned the lessons from their last brief flirtation with the NPC. Of course, Udders have the greater resources, so they are more lilkely to strengthen; whereas Peterboro will probably lose their best players. Tokyo-Saint Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 Posh are bound to get a load of Man U player on loan if they go up. I think Huds are a better team but if they go up they are unlikely to have such power in the loan market.
VectisSaint Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 Why should we be scared of playing anyone. Are they going to go "boo" at us and make us jump? Should we call Ghostbusters? Either will give us a hard game as will a lot of other teams in the Champ, but I don't think anyone will be anything but confident next season. Lighthouse Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 I think with their defence, Posh will be like us in 07/08 and 04/05. I'd rather they went up than Udders in terms of easier competition.
Saint_lambden Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 We shouldn't be 'scared' of anyone next season, if we are, we'll finish a lot lower than we want to. Despite that, I think Huddersfield will be tougher.
saint_jas Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 Huddersfield, could do with another day out at Peterborough, enjoyed the last match apart from the late pen.
Matthew Le God Posted 19 May, 2011 Share Posted 19 May, 2011 Peterboro if they go up as there'l more than likely still have Mackail-Smith, Boyd, Tomlin Etc still there and will more than likely pose more of a threat than Huddersfield (No Offence!) No they won't. Fry, MacAnthony and Ferguson have all said on a number of occasions now that they will be sold if they go up or not. For example... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_6939981,00.html Huddersfield would be more of a threat in the Championship than Peterborough would be. del boy Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Huddersfield will be the bigger threat - which is why I was hoping Bournemouth could hang on to their lead in extra time - but as others have said we shouldn't fear either of them

Bucks Saint Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Nothing to be scared about. Would prefer Posh to come up simply because London Road is nearer - although the Galpharm is much nicer. Think Hudders will win in any event

doddisalegend Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Not bothered we've beaten both this season neither of them are that special. Reckon the foxes will be the team to watch out for next season.
SNSUN Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Think Posh will be losing Boyd, CMS et al by all accounts regardless! Checked in on the Posh forum last night, and they talk about CMS as if he's 100% leaving. Talk of who will replace him is rife, so they sound pretty certain they won't hold onto him, promotion or not. It also sounds like they believe he's off to Norwich, as per Norwich's earlier season bid, but with Norwich achieving promotion, I get the feeling CMS won't be too high up on their list of striker signings now, which could put us in a very sweet position. dune Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Neither. Both would be easy games by ccc standards.
Sour Mash Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Neither. Both would be easy games by ccc standards. Like our two away games at Huddersfield over the last two seasons? I think both teams would do well in the Championship, look stronger than a lot of the teams in the bottom third of that league.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Huddersfield deserve to go up, but it would be better for us if Posh did. If they lose CMS and Boyd, that will be one relegation place sorted (not that I think we'll be near the bottom), I would rather play Posh away than Huddersfield, but we'd beat the both at home. Scudamore Posted 20 May, 2011 Share Posted 20 May, 2011 Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. And this is how one ends up becoming a fan of the blue few.

Without knowing what our squad will look like, I cannot yet be confident, although I can be hopeful. With the squad as it is, I'm afraid I can't see better than mid table.
