Hope these don't sell out too quickly, been looking forward to this one.
Very unlikely it'll sell out full stop. Agree re the OP, excellent pricing, no complaints on that.

If you travel from London to Stoke using London Midland Trains (not Virgin) you can get Group 4 tickets works out £68 for 4 (£17 each), kids under 15 -£1 each

Journey up from London takes just over 2 hours, a bit longer coming back, but you can get these tickets on the day if necessary

we'll probably only take 1500 up there , fulham 3 days before Arsenal at home just after. no glamour and £25 tickets perfect.

What a great day out that will be! Haven't been since 2007 and a 25 quid a pop it would be rude not too!

London midland are doing loads of cheap trains up there, £12.90 return from MK and not much more from London.

Thinking about taking Trousers Jnr to this one. Just looking at the walking distance between Stoke station and the Britannia stadium - looks like a 2 mile hike alongside a canal. So a c.30 - 40 min walk...?

there are special buses from near the station to and from the ground, if you don't fancy the walk

It's a fair hike alright and parking is a ba*tard near the ground.

Cheers - I bet that involves a bit of a bun fight after the game? Are they free or does one buy a return ticket at the station? Thanks again.

You have to pay a few quid return. I believe you can park in the Harvester near the ground for a fee. Away fans can go in but last time I was there a few choice locals were trying to kick off with the Saints fans.

There is street parking but it'll be at least 20 minutes walk.

They are from Glebe St, a 5min stroll from the station into Stoke itself. They drop off there as well.

Thanks for the advice chaps. Just checked train fares - £111 for me and the boy....ouch...
You can do it cheaper than that if you're happy to take the London Midland service.

Ah, ok - I assumed that thetrainline.com would offer me cheapest tickets but it would seem not...

See Old Sarum's posts above. Looks like you can do it for about £26 return from London still.

Just tried the midland trains website - they're saying £111 too (includes journey from Farnborough mind you).

No it as two journeys. Farnborough - London, London - 1970s.

The 2nd journey is cheap with London Midland was we do it for London game and usually pay around £17 with a family railcard.

I thought you commuted into London and would already have a ticket to cover travelling into London? If not, as VFTT says, try breaking the journey into two.

We didn't sell out going to WBA and tickets were cheaper and it was closer. That was 5 hours driving for me to see a very poor game and I don't think us playing away at Stoke will be any more glamorous. They've got to be the most boring side in the Prem by a mile. I'm sure this will make general sale especially with so many games over christmas

Being on TV on a Monday night didn't help.

Went up there and saw Stoke v Brighton in the FA Cup a couple of years ago when our match at Rochdale was called off when we were already in the midlands. Wasn't at all impressed with the hoops my disabled mate had to jump through (figuratively) to be able to park near their ground and get a ticket half way around the ground, so won't be giving them any more of my money.

Plus I've already been there now, haven't I ? Maybe I should have a look to see if Rochdale are home ? :)
