Alex Sandro and Mangala are a great shout. Otamendi is a nutter so no.

From the Benfica side their keeper hasn't conceded in 5 games, and they signed him at 17 years of age when he was already a starter for one of the big teams in Slovenia. National team starter now (his substitute also plays in Portugal funnily enough) and had a great last season on loan too. Rodrigo is hit-and-miss, Garay is a top CB but VERY prone to injury.

Also off to Zenit isn't he (Garay)?

Mangala was awful anyway, another one of these French kids pumped up to stardom on one good game from time to time but

he really isn't very good for the other 90% of the time. They develop very young because they're usually 5 times the size of all of the other kids and then they burn out very early as well. Top European League reserve teams are littered with next Zidanes, Vieras and Desaillys.

Maybe so before, but I follow the Portuguese league regularly and he's been pretty good every time I've seen him. Though I agree that he hasn't really established himself as an undisputed starter, which might be a bit disappointing considering the other CB (Maicon) is really poor.

A centre back who is also a left back who is only 23 and is an Argentine international so clearly can play a bit with the ball and is currently with Sporting in Portugal so probably not on mega money but could be up for a big EPL payola time under an Argentine Coach who would be able to talk him through how-it-is at SMS. Yup. Fits and ticks every box perfectly .

Marcos Rojo. Not that good, a bit of a mentalist in terms of aggression and under no circumstance should play at CB in the Premier League. LB maybe but he does not have the pace or the discipline.
