miserableoldgit Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 At least two newspapers are reporting this morning that Poopey are to bid for Jack Cork in January and Lallana and Surman wanted by Stoke and valued at £1.5 each. Lallana says that he wants to stay as he would rather play first team here than reserves somewhere else.
Huffton Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 Unfortunately I don't think it matters what the players want. They will be sold whether they like it or not.
mprobert Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 Apologies to those who won't want to read any good news, but... beatlesaint Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 Well if Lallana is only valued at £1.5 million and Bournemouth get 25% of that its hardly worth selling him...we might as well keep him : - )

Lallana and Surman to Stoke must be ********, Pulis only signs 6ft tall giants not little weiners who can pass the ball well and do the odd step over. alpine_saint Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 Bet he's not here come Feb 09. Yep. Where Lowe is concerned, the players wishes are irrelevant despite all the "we want them to stay, but cant make them if they want to leave" craap he comes out with every time he gets rid of one. And Lowe is vindictive enough to force them to be dropped until they change their mind, whatever the effect on team performance. Actually, as a supposedly world-wise businessman, he's not very good at protecting the company's assets, is he ?

Big_Bald_Si Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 Why did the bank endorse employing a new coach ? Because allegedly - Wotte and Poortvliet's wages came to less than that used for Pearson - cost cutting (again)
saint_stevo Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 Because allegedly - Wotte and Poortvliet's wages came to less than that used for Pearson - cost cutting (again) What about Gorre? Maybe bringing him in was planned all along but they had to wait a while so they could spin the line about both being cheaper than Pearson..... Stepgar Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 cork will be missed no doubt. However with regards to players being sold.....they have to want to go in the first place. An offer can be accepted but then it is up to the player. So really it depends on how much more money will he be on?? Every player has a price. LostBoys Posted 14 December, 2008 Share Posted 14 December, 2008 The misery is just being piled on and piled on and I am not sure what we have done from 2003 to deserve all this. I would not believe anything the Mirror said as its sports reporting is a joke now but we all know in our heart of hearts that even if the Clubs they are going to are completely wrong, they will be leaving in January 2009. rooney Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 The Cork one has to be rubbish Pompey are in a worse state than us at the moment there is no way they will be buying him unless they sell almost their entire squad I do not know about selling their entire squad just to buy Jack Cork, but I cannot see the Skates buying any one. Their debt of £60M between the 2 Company's involved with them, is just not sustainable and Gaydamak will not be putting any more money in when they make gross losses on P & L and he is effected by the global credit crunch. Certainly they will have to off load some players and the new training ground and stadium is just a distant dream now.

But as "we don't want to stand in anyone's way while we listen to offers" his first team place is probably safe until after the window.
Chez Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 At least two newspapers are reporting this morning that Poopey are to bid for Jack Cork in January( I wonder what position they would be buying him for? saint1977 Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 I wonder what position they would be buying him for? Diarra will go to Man City so perhaps he is cover for Hughes etc. Cork can play in a number of positions so he could cover a few injuries. Not sure how big their fire sale is going be but the Skates are apprehensive believe me. Claridge said on 5 Live yesterday that they won't go down this year but they are only 5 points above the drop zone and anyone beneath Hull (who unless they do a Reading and lose 8 or 9 on the spin won't go down from 27 points pre-xmas) could easily go down. For all the Redknapp "revolution" at Spurs, they are only a point or 2 above the drop zone after Newcastle's win. What would really kill them is if Diarra is sold and the likes of Defoe start sulking and wanting to leave. They'll stay up if they keep scoring goals with Defoe and Crouch but strikers that score goals in the PL cost money, unless you are canny like Phil Brown. Arizona Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 Newspapers always report our best players are off to Pompey. It's what they do to rattle a few cages and sell papers to gullible neanderthals. If you believe the media, Bale, Baird, Surman and Kenny all play for Pompey, as do Walcott and Cork on loan. Dannyboy_Saint Posted 15 December, 2008 Share Posted 15 December, 2008 Pele last season was sold against his wishes according to Javi. NO proof though unless the actual player comes on here and accepts/denies it.
