Brighton Friendly Tickets

On sale tomorrow, I posted the link on the pre season friendly thread, thought that was the appropriate place!

Says they went on sale last Thursday to Brighton fans. I tweeted Saints last week and they said there should be an away allocation, but it doesn't really look like it.

There will be a few hundred of us wanting to do it so I can't see them not having an away end for us.

Perhaps as it's just a preseason friendly you don't need "allocations" and what have yous. JUst turn up,pay and watch the game, as it should be.

"Albion v Southampton - 31st July 7.45pm

Tickets will go on sale from Thursday 10th July, priced as follows: Adults: £14, Senior Citizens: £10, Under-16s: £6.

Supporters are advised that because only the West Stand lower and middle tiers and East Stand lower areas of the stadium will be open for the game, season ticket holders will not necessarily be able to guarantee their usual seats."

So the 2 side stands are open for home fans. Don't know if that means we'll be getting the usual away end or if it's not open at all.

Anyone help me in terms of travel? What is the best way to get to Brighton by train?

National Rail Enquiries tells me to go to London first- and then to Brighton, even though that is the complete opposite for mee.

If you are coming from Kent you can do it by Ashford to Lewis and change for a Falmer train.

If you're coming from Tunbridge Wells area may be easier to take the number 28 or 29 bus which goes past the stadium. I think there may also be a train service via Gatwick from Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge but probably involves a few changes.

lol you are spot on with that. I am coming from Tunbridge Wells.

Apologies, I forgot to write when I'm coming from earlier.

Bus number 28, right, but after the game finishes is there a late bus?

I would prefer train tbh, easier for me, but National Rail Enquiries is weirrd.

Thres's no direct train route from Tunbridge Wells - you'd neeed to go a long way round via Hastings or Redhill. I havent used the bus but I'd imagine it would be quicker. Remember the station is Falmer not Brighton, its on the outskirts of the City, by Sussex University.

edit its not really faster, though you dont have to change

It is a direct bus but does stop along the way, takes about 1 1/2 hours. Last bus back is around 9pm though. There is a night bus to Uckfield : http://www.buses.co.uk/travel/service.aspx?serviceid=1224 but nothing to TW :( You could always try the nightbus to Uckfield and then maybe find your way from there.

They've expanded it since that photo was taken. The corners are filled in all the way around now, and the stand opposite the main stand has an upper tier, I think.

Both sides stands have an upper tier, but the end behind the goal is still pretty much as in that pic save for the corners being filled in.

Hmm, bit of a sod when you consider buying a ticket to a Brighton match usually gets you free rail travel to and from the match from anywhere east of Littlehampton and with "pay on the day" you'll also have to pay for the train out to Falmer.
