Killers Knee Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 There will be more manure fans than saints fans in the ground, that much is a given. All the xmas pressy tickets for young kids wanting to watch their sky sports heroes. Makes me sick to see the beautiful game ruined by the premier league/sky conglomerate but that's beyond our control, in the mean time remember that games like these are the only opportunity for many to see their team, however bitter that pill is. Why ruin someones xmas over some fictitious ghey bi-partisan rivalry? We are all good little consumers after all.
knellster Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 Unless they're behaving like complete @rses (in which case the stewards will spot them anyway) what's the problem? They're putting money into our coffers (I know that Man U and the FA will take their share as well) and they're hardly depriving regular Saints fans of tickets are they? I live in Nottingham and travelled to the game on Saturday on the Forest supporters coach without any problems - is that really any different? Colinjb Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 Tried pointing some Utd fans out to a Steward after Van Nistelrooy scored on that fateful day. They didn't want to know, even though many home fans where getting extremely irate at their presense in the Chapel.

Yes but we've already got their cash so no loss in throwing them out! Wonder if they will stop anyone wearing a Man U shirt in the home end? Bound to be at least a few kids trying it. Colinjb Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 (edited) No offence intended but that does make you a bit sad imo. I collect football shirts. I wouldn't just buy it and throw it away, i'm not that stupid. I have a bit of connection to Charlton anyway, my Dad supports them. Not that I care what you think. VectisSaint Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 Given we've only got 14000 supporters these days, and we are a bit short of the old greenbacks, maybe we should be welcoming them with open arms. Must admit I am very surprised the game is sold out, but then if 17000 are plastic Mancs then I suppose it is not so surprising after all. All these plastics going along to watch their darlings from Sky, it would be great if Fergie plays the reserves instead, and rests Ronaldo, Thugfeatures, Ferdinand, Giggs, etc. That said still likely that they could murder us, 32000+ seeing what a third rate coach can do for a team. Still I maintain this weird hunch that we will sneak a draw or better, no logical reason to suppose this will happen, but "its a funny old game"

rocknrollman no2 Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 I doubt if the stewards will be that bothered anyway. On Saturday a fan walked straight past a steward blatantly wearing a Forest hat, then he went through the "J" turnstyle in the Northam. Despite a lot of Saints fans pointing out the fact he was obviously an away fan,the steward didnt want to know. Only when it looked like it might kick off in the concourse, was he escorted out. In fact it will probably be easier for the stewards to kick out the few Saints fans on January 4th.
InvictaSaint Posted 22 December, 2008 Share Posted 22 December, 2008 I very much doubt any of them would know what it means anyway.... To be honest Hufton, I think it says more about Saintoli than any of the people he purports to target. Not a topic suitable for any chant if you ask me... On a separate note, Hufton, you get my vote for best early exit from SMS after your two-fingered Citizen Smith-esque departure from the Forest game. Best moment of the game by far from my point of view! :-)

1976_Child Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Well I would be a hypocrite if I reported Manure fans sitting in the home parts of SMS. I couldn't get an away ticket for the recent Reading game so bought a home ticket instead. So long as the manure lot keep quiet and sit on their hands then haven't got a problem. Any t0ssers who want the rest of us to know they are United fans should be ejected from the stadium immediately. Preferably from the top of the terrace onto the tarmac below! I would however naturally prefer everyone to be Saints. Wasn't it Arsene Wenger who a while back got really hacked off with plastic fans at Highbury/Emirates because the atmosphere was sh!te? No singing only corporate knobs wanting having a swanny. Hope that SMS will not be silent, sure it won't. There are enough of us to make a hell of a racket when the game starts.. As long as they dont be complete *****s, if that is the case then yes I mightr have to say something Same here, I've been at quite a few away games and had to keep quiet. That said, their plastics are just that bit more obnoxious and I'm glad I didn't see any in 04/05 otherwise I would have been forced into something I might have regretted later (well, the consequences anyway). If you can't keep quiet in the home end and you get a slap you can hardly moan can you? I know a lad that had a ticket in the away end for the Derby home game in the first season @ SMS, Oakley scored a peach of goal and he forgot where he was. He soon remembered again and looked like he'd done 15 rounds with Joe Calzaghe.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 I'm bringing my Dad who is a fan of them and has been all his life, thought it safer to take him in the corporate section to avoid a happening, I have discussed acceptable conduct with him and trust that he will take heed, however, would be very disappointed if he forgot himself for a moment and those around us requested his removal, being 74 it may be one of the last times he gets to see them in this town. He will respect where he is but from my own experience it is difficult to contain yourself for 90mins and the odd slip is inevitable, singing or shouting throughout for the opposition is unacceptable and should not need anyone to 'grass' as this would be evident to the stewards who should act immediatly to avoid trouble. eurosaint Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 It's a sad indictment on society that there should be a need for segregation in the first place however, given that the policy states 'home fans only' in most parts of the ground, visitors should respect this and keep a low profile ! I would only 'shop' someone if they were overly abusive or insulting but in any case most of the hacks around me in the Kingsland are likely to be pretty tolerant anyway ! Victor Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 I always thought it was "who´s that dieing on the runway, who´s that lieing in the snow" etc. Sling out people singing this or ManU fans behaving themselves? Not a difficult decision. Whatever happened to friendly banter with fellow football supporters? Seasons greetings from Dreamland.
