He also told me that there aren't any deleted posts which would explain the banning. Neither did he reveal Verbal's real identity, or indeed anybody else's come to that. The problem I've got with such a system is that it'll clearly get abused by a select few. There's a relatively new plugin available for vBulletin that does it, but we're going to be moving away from vBulletin in the not-too-distant future anyway (the newest version is all kinds of ****), so it's not really worth the effort at this stage. Right? Right. A well sharpened word pun is always welcome. I'd been struggling to have a look on Papsweb on my phone over the weekend, just getting an error screen when I put the address in, so I'd assumed he'd blocked my IP address or something. As I was on my work laptop tonite thought I would have a wee look on there. I see what he's done. Never mind, I think he missed the point of my post (which I still think is hilarious) and I genuinely thought Pap would a) guess it was me or b) if not, at least start trying work out who it was. I had various Morecambe and Wise/Pulis references ready for him, I was planning to keep the mask on for probably three posts. The fact that he did actually think someone brand new had come on to his hours-old forum completely out of nowhere to start a slightly odd debate about Steve Wood is not something I can legislate for. Also I picked a different name driven by the picture I wanted to use but his site didn't let me upload it, so the whole experience was unsatisfactory. My vision was not realised. Anyway, this is dull. Good luck all souls building up forum communities wherever you are. The government only pays me to post on this one, so here I'll stay. I can understand why it was done, but personally I wouldn't have removed it. papsweb, is and probably always will be the Lounge and TMS for people who want to continue to interact with pap. It's not going to replace the TSW as a place to chat about football any time soon. I've consciously referred to pap's site as papsweb because I could see a potential conflict with 'promoting' it on TSW. The Man charges to use this site, it generates money, so it's sort of like taking bhajis out of his kids' mouths. Or at the very least, it's like stealing his server and curry tokens. I do think that the schism of the Forum Wars will leave a bit of a Tory / Labour imbalance in The Lounge, but that's probably just art imitating life while the Left regroups. Personally, I plan to pay both subscription fees - a fiver curry tax goes to The Man, and papster has said that his site is free as long as Toke and The Bear give him a BJ once every 12 moons - or a moon every 12 BJs - I forget. Actually I THINK I read that pap's daughter has the casting vote (she's the militant one in the family). And I see that you've finally admitted that the government pays you to post! Turkish, tokes and kraken are all registered users. Pap, dunebarrystanmole, sturomseysaint, willgolf, Deppo etc have all been banned, granted many for being bellends though I had a lot of time for Pap, he went a bit too far at times, but this place needs a ding dong to make it a bit interesting at times. I too sometimes enjoyed his various contributions on here - I even agreed with him on occasion - however ''a bit too far'' may be your way of putting it, but not I think the choice of words I myself would employ. Thinking back on it, the notorious 'crisis actors and Lee Rigby' thread, the ludicrous claim that Israeli children are all brainwashed fanatics, even that NASA = NAZIS business that I remember so well, all when way beyond going a little ''too far'' methinks. In my ideal world, Pap and Steve Grant would meet up to discuss mutually beneficial arrangements where their adoring public could enjoy the benefits of both worlds. The meeting would likely be tense and business like, I can't imagine much hugging. And would probably need a couple months worth of negotiations before hand to discuss the parameters of the meeting (ie. Steve would insist on no questions about why Pap got banned and no comic strips post meeting, Pap would insist on an apology for the Verbal situation) but they'd do it because they recognise what's most important - their fans. He was actually called Saint_Will (or something much like that), and he used to go on about golf one hell of a lot (more than Phil even), hence the nickname.
