trousers Posted 4 January, 2009 Share Posted 4 January, 2009 The scoreline v Man utd is arguably the worst result for speeding up any regime change. It hasn't been a complete white wash and we held out with 10 men for a fair while. Lowe will herald it as a plucky performance and a demonstration that we are "heading in the right direction". A more humilating defeat would have been better for the club in terms of regime change. More of the same beckons after this.... IMHO of course

RobM Posted 4 January, 2009 Share Posted 4 January, 2009 Too true. We did 'OK' considering we had 10 men, 7 of which were youth team players. We got forward at times and didn't look as stupid as I expected. Totally outclassed and outplayed, but we did enough and had some brief bright moments that Lowe and Co. will claim proves we are improving. benjii Posted 4 January, 2009 Share Posted 4 January, 2009 Anyone who still believes we play "attractive" football or "the best football for years" has serious perception problems IMO. It is clear that we will be relegated if we do not change manager.
Mr X Posted 4 January, 2009 Share Posted 4 January, 2009 As long as the OS doesn't spout loads of crap like, we weren't far off getting a result and that we matched united in most departments. I will be happy You never know they may be honest and say we weren't in the game for long periods and the better team one!
Dalek2003 Posted 4 January, 2009 Share Posted 4 January, 2009 Billy Davies was on 5 live at HT. Just felt the man had something special about him in the way he was upbeat and chipping in with wisecrack comments, a bit like WGS. You could understand how he would hold the dressing room and motivate. we should have got him to SFC at least.

Raven on the wing Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 He was as smug as a man who knows nothing about football is when watching a managerial light weight he has appointed, guide a team of nonentities, to perform like a bunch of kids in the local park and get away with a 3-0 drubbing, and yet receive no direct criticism because of an inept referee. graymalkin33 Posted 7 January, 2009 Share Posted 7 January, 2009 Was he smugger than a smug person who has been named Dean of Smugness in the smug department at Smugness College, Oxford? There is of course no such college in Oxford by that name ..... anyway ummmmm i just cant believe there are people on here actually wanting Saints to get thrashed. I just cant believe it. I have been supporting Saints for 32 years and never have i wished us to lose, let alone get a god hiding. Is it just because its easier to say sack the manager than it is to come up with a real response to the clubs problems?
