There are loads of muppets all over Twitter, especially when it comes to football opinions (not just Saints fans) and yes they spout a load of sh*t, but this thread feels like its bordering on bullying to me. These guys probably read this site. Sorry if it makes me a party pooper, just wanted to mention it before it potentially went too far.

Your talents are wasted on here, as you'd make a great sleuth
You have no idea what headspace people are in, so spare a thought. They are Saints fans at least, so I personally wouldnt get much joy in making them feel like sh*t. Our football club does that to us already!

Both this site and twitter are anonymous for starters and no one has the right to an unopposed opinion.

On a side note, I understand the further above point of our Twitter legends potentially reading this site, but respectfully this is a public forum. Twitter is a public forum. If they were that concerned about what people think of their opinions, whether it be about them or their own viewpoints, then they shouldn’t be on social media or they should set their settings to private.

Look at this one!

For me it just sums up the way the club is (badly) doing business right now. All they’re doing is eating into the time the new manager has with the squad ahead of the new season and quite frankly it’s embarrassing. That’s one of the main reasons we went down. #procrastination

I like this thought. We appoint Russell Martin and then he spends the next two weeks spending one day with each player on their chosen holiday. I can just see him, adjoining room from JWP on his family holiday, chaperoning Ballard's lads holiday, slamming tequila with Lyanco.

Maybe I am one of the middle aged men that's been referenced (I am mid 30's) but the inconsistency's behind peoples opinions on Twitter is what does my head in.

Take Onuachu signing as an example. Hailed by those with a "following" as a "baller" or telling people to "let him cook"

It's the same with RM now. I'm optimistic about the appointment, whilst harbouring some doubts due to his previous outcomes at MK & Swansea.

I think what nailed it for me was during the CL final, people actively saying Stones is the best CB in the world and some saying the best ever. Is he a good footballer? Unquestionably. Is he the best CB around, arguably not even the position he plays in right now? Not for me.

But as I say, perhaps I'm just some miserable middle aged man and all these twitter football fans know much more than I do.

I find it a bit weird and makes me want to stay off any apps when people in their mid 20s use language such as “let him cook”. I go to university and people there speak like it as well. They say “dub” and “man said” in normal sentences.

People on twitter love making compilations of Selles, Jones, Ralph with rap music in the background and some weird filter with the caption “let him cook 🥶”. No doubt they’ve already got one ready for Russell when we beat a rotherham 1-0 off ches arse in the first game.

You can guarantee that most of the players on that list they’ve never seen play other than on YouTube.

It's  constant on Twitter, some of these young virgins must have nothing else going on in their life. 24/7 nonsense about the transfer window, or a manager we haven't even got yet, or players leaving, players staying, predictions, fixture wishes, ballers, my man, this man, that man. 

I remember being 21, going to Saints, doing weekenders and having a great time. Not sitting on Twitter in the middle of summer going on about fucking Elyounoussi.

Mark Goldbridge does the United Stand which depending on what’s happening is quite funny.
Do it too much, it turns into “no one fucking cares”. That’s the stage a lot of them are at now.

Not either of the usual suspects but to answer:

- Leicester is arguably a bigger club, currently, than Saints.
- Arguably a more attractive club than Southampton based on recent history.
- Have a better squad of players than Southampton.
- No doubt closer to his current home, friends and family.

I actually feel sorry for Robs girlfriend who he's currently on Holiday with in Turkey as instead of spoiling her he's more concerned about making sure he's there with the latest Saints news and puns. 

What happened to going on holiday, putting your phone down, forgetting about what's going on at home and enjoying the beer and sun?

if she’s not then she won’t stick around long. No one is going to want to be with a bloke whose sole achievement in life so far is being a self appointed super fan of a football club.
