Forest look much more likely to pull away since the appointment of Davies.

Oh how i wish he was at SFC.

Await incoming.

Cue some pillock saying "I'd rather be relegated than that awful man Davies and his horrible football philosophy of getting to the play offs in every single full season he has managed in this division".

Of course the key is home wins. The away wins and draws have actually kept Saints in with a fighting chance, but it's home wins that'll save this club from going down. Keep the unlikely away form going and turn the home defeats and draws into wins and this club goes up the league and not out of it by the back door.

Does not look good but we are still in with a shout. A good shout. Barnsley seem to have been on 32 pts for ages now and Derby on 29, shame we couldnt/didn't capitalize on it. So there is 2 teams who are there for the taking. How sweet it would be if Derby went down and we stayed up.

Before tonight Barnsley were higher than us in the 8 game current form table.

Still think they'll be above us even after tonight in this current form table.

But do think Barnsley are someone we need to drag into the fight.

2006 points needed to stay up = 50

2007 points needed to stay up = 49

2008 points needed to stay up = 53

So basically you've got to be looking for 51/52 points to stay up.

We've got 17 games to get 24/25 points.

Games left:

Swansea (h)

Sheff U (h)

Watford (a)

Bristol C (a)

Preston (h)

Cardiff (h)

Ipswich (a)

Birmingham (a)

Derby (h)

QPR (h)

Blackpool (a)

Charlton (h)

Wolves (a)

Palace (h)

Sheff W (a)

Burnley (h)

Forest (a)

We're fooked IMHO.

Agree these games look bad on paper, but you do get crazy results in the CCC. We capable of beating anyone and equally capable of losing to anyone. I would say we will definitely get turned over against Brum, Wolves, Ipswich and I don't fancy our chances of getting much out of Bristol away.

Should we manage to sort out home form, there are some winnable games there. It's feasible for us to beat Sheff Utd, Preston, Derby, Charlton, Palace and Burnley at home. We could get something from Watford, Sheff Wed and Forest away (particularly if they are comfortable by then).

It doesn't look good, but if we could get some momentum going, it's far from impossible. I feel much happier about the prospect of two up front and getting results at home.

So we need to win 7 or 8 games out of 17. The teams just above us are winning regularly. We need two quick wins just to get back in touch with the others. Something has got to change and very quickly. We absolutely must play all our best players at every opportunity. This is no time to play around with formations or fringe players. That means Skacel, Euell, Saganowski, BWP in for every game and go for everything full-tilt.

Basically it will be determined by our home form; at present we have 7 points fewer than any other team in the league- truly abysmal. If we can win a one of the next couple of home games we should be ok, if our run carries on beyond that, we’re knackered.

Away form says we’re actually better than the average CCC side, that’s the most frustrating thing about this season.
