Saint NL Posted Friday at 10:38 Posted Friday at 10:38 I've been asked by two different West Ham fans what Fernandes is like. So either West Ham fans just don't take an interest in other teams, or Fernandes has flown under the radar somewhat.

Simple. Shame to lose him but happy with the replacements. 47% of the Portuguese squad currently play in leagues ranked at or below Championship level. 'Hypocrite of the Week' award on its way to Mr Martinez... 2

I thought for a second the £50m price tag might be a red line and be too high, but no. If we get promoted and West Ham relegated, would you take him back? Nah. Just Hojbjerg with smoother edges.
Saint NL Posted Friday at 12:35 Posted Friday at 12:35 When Potter is sacked and Mourinho is the new West Ham manager, I wonder how Fernandes will feel.

With ridiculously high wags for playing a game clubs like Saints are a selling club. And it will only get worse. Don't think we have kept hold of any top class player in last 5 years. Saints are also a stepping stone club, playercome here to to take tgd next transfer to develop. That's the worry I have with local derby games as most players don't have any affiliation to Saints so its not a priority. Or been here long enough to realise it a derby v Pompey.
davefizzy14 Posted Saturday at 11:46 Posted Saturday at 11:46 Good luck to Matty, wish he had stayed as he is a gem of a player. 2
spyinthesky Posted yesterday at 16:42 Posted yesterday at 16:42 (edited) According to the West Ham fans, Fernandes made a great impression on his debut and the initial view is that, if he continues to play like he did today, he will be snapped up by a bigger club, which would provide us with a decent sell on figure, if that happens. Seems the Hammers fans have taken to KWP too but dear old JWP, who started so well at the Dildo Dome, now seems to be well down the order of the favourites. Edited yesterday at 16:42 by spyinthesky
gio1saints Posted yesterday at 16:48 Posted yesterday at 16:48 Both him and KWP played very well indeed. I like him playing with their #10 Paqueta who is a top top and very intelligent footballer will bring him along for sure. Mattie is a star player basically and destined to play for his country in big matches my belief. 2

He did I watched the first 80 minute missed all the goals but he was very good as was KWP. Ward Prowse had a typical ward Prowse game, he was okay worked really hard covered lots of ground did all the stuff that people don’t notice. I thought at the time West Ham fans wouldn’t take to him for those reasons and seems to be the case 1
