How close to administation ?

I have honestly got to say I don't think we're THAT close. I think the fact that we are rid of a lot of high earners and will be clear of some more in the summer means that the bank will take that on board and give us extra breathing room.

Unless the gate receipts continue to fall and/or we are relegated. Then I would think things would be rapidly 'reviewed' by Barclays.

I reckon your about right, be interesting to see the half year accounts. We got rid of so many of the high earners in the summer that hopefully we will be breaking even on cash flow at least.

But do we need to sell in order to get in other players or payoff the overdraft?

How close to administation ?

Charles Sale; Daily Mail; 21st Jan

Lowe point for Southampton

Southampton's beleaguered chairman Rupert Lowe, who regained a club left in financial meltdown by the chronic mismanagement of the regime that forced him out of office, will have to make a major decision by the third week of March.

That is whether to put the club into administration and take the Football League’s 10-point penalty this season.

Southampton, whose bank Barclays are threatening to reduce their overdraft facility considerably, have to find extra monies by the end of next month to keep afloat.

i would think the big decision will be made after the offer for season tickets for next season reaches its first closing date.

Without a slice of money , with no gate income during the summer that money is going to be crucial for the clubs surival in its present form

yes, I think you are right. I reckon we will somehow generate a little cash over the next few days, and the early bird ST money will (Just about)keep us afloat till the summer.

Even then it will be more sales and cost cutting at best, hopefully with the suppoort of the bank.

Rummor I know, but I have been told twice that 3rd February is the day.

Day after transfer window ends, do not know if has any significance though?

Was listening to Monday night club on five live this week, Motty and Pompey Claridge talking about the bottom end of CCC, both knew that a club has to make a payment by 23rd Feb or face administration and do it before cut off date in March to stop taking points deduction and threat of more than ten in to next season!

Lets all discuss?

Don't need to as it's all in your first word of the post as highlighted.

With the fall in the share price now down to 19p I think administration is not very far away at all.

What has the share price got to do with how close we are to administration. The fall in our stock is pretty much in line with the whole market.

I am no expert, but we are not acting (Lack of selling players, giving woote money to buy a new player) like a club on the brink

Heard this my self today, 2nd hand but from what sounded like a reliable source.

But it does not make any sense when we're not yet dead and buried, surely it would be better to hang on til the last moment (3rd week in March?)

And why just before a home game which will almost certainly create a really bad atmosphere to effect the players on the pitch.

Unless of course Rupert is going to kill the club out of spite.

And why will he do that?

I think we are very close to Admin. There simply has not been the outbound moves that the club required to get money in. Lowes strategy is really unravelling before our very eyes, which is extremely sad as it also signifies further depths to be sunk to before the club bottoms out. Frankly, as results are not going to be too much different to when JP was in charge, there will need to be some extremely difficult decisions made in the near future. I would hazard a guess that there are many who, like me, would not mind administration as it would signal the end of Lowe, Wilde and the PLC. It might just signify the beginning of a new more positive era.

So the two main rumours are: Crouch buys Wilde's shares as Lowe declares administration. lol.
