EssEffCee Posted Monday at 12:51 Author Posted Monday at 12:51 The extra charge for the split payment option I can see being a bit of an own goal. There'll be lots of people who can't afford to pay up front and will see that and decide not to bother. 3

Simo is back Posted Monday at 12:57 Posted Monday at 12:57 Also only have 7 months to pay it in rather than 10 .
Saint_Jonny Posted Monday at 12:58 Posted Monday at 12:58 I think we're moving back to Block 39 from our one season experiment in block 46, so for us there is a decent saving vs staying where we are, plus the extra games, works out as £19 a game for an adult - not bad. 2
redandwhitey Posted Monday at 13:03 Posted Monday at 13:03 Just renewed as I know full well I will give in eventually 🤷♂️😎 1 1
SouSaint Posted Monday at 13:05 Posted Monday at 13:05 The club can't be too confident about attendances next season as it looks like they will be giving the away fans 3,000 tickets.

Divergent Posted Monday at 13:12 Posted Monday at 13:12 I’ve renewed - what else would I do on a Saturday? At just over £23 a match for me and a tad over £10 for my grandson it feels quite reasonable. Might even see some wins or is that too much to hope for! 3 1

Northam for example 497, my season ticket in the Northam first season at St Marys was either 400, or 450, i dont remember which, but even worst case a relatively small increase in 24 years isn't bad at all. Centre areas little bit pricey but dont think anyone can have too much to complain about. Sure they will though. 3
franniesTache Posted Monday at 13:57 Posted Monday at 13:57 Renewed mine, I make it my 43rd consecutive season of going which makes me feel properly old. Moved to block 21 from the Northam Wall as i couldn't face another season in what seems like a creche for Soccer AM fanboys

I thought that but when i checked back my season ticket in the Itchen North for our last season in the championship cost me £430 so it's actually an increase if you do a like for like. It's obviously not terrible pricing but given people are skint at the moment it's not great, and the extra 5% fee for people doing monthly payments is a proper kick in the bollocks to those folk 1
stevegrant Posted Monday at 14:01 Posted Monday at 14:01 49 minutes ago, EssEffCee said: People cancelling presumably? Maybe they could have just prevented those people using that option. Yeah, basically this. Apparently numbers "in the hundreds" simply cancelled their direct debits midway through the season because they couldn't be bothered to go anymore. Quite surprised the club doesn't have any recourse on that through the Direct Debit guarantee (the main aim of which is consumer protection but surely should protect the "service" provider in cases of deliberate non-payment of agreed amounts), so I guess their way around that is to levy a charge and to ensure payments are complete by the end of the calendar year. They've said that anyone with an outstanding balance on this season's ticket won't be able to use the payment plan for next season. Quite surprised they've not just said "no season ticket for you", tbh, but I guess money talks. 4

Given the apparent number of people who abused the payment plan this season, we seemingly have them to thank for the extra expense. 2

Surely these days with it being all computerised and scanners etc it's not like the old days when you can get your ticket and then cancel the direct debit after one payment which i believe a few did back in the early St Marys days.
Wade Garrett Posted Monday at 14:11 Posted Monday at 14:11 Can anyone tell me when the priority window ends? I’m not that keen on renewing until the new manager is announced.

Likely people who basically had no intention of going again this season, so they noticed they hadn't finished paying for their season ticket and just cancelled the direct debit via their bank. I imagine the club would have first tried contacting them to reinstate the payments but after that they probably just blocked the ticket. If I remember rightly, the early St Mary's days featured voucher books for season tickets as they had the free bus passes attached as well, so there probably wasn't much they could do about fraud (and let's be fairly clear, that's what this is/was) because every ticket voucher was the same and nothing was scanned to authenticate that exact ticket.

It would be good if we could get at least a few hundred singers over there. I notice half the block is unavailable, is it like that this season or are they just not wanting season tickets sold there so they can leave those seats empty for the skates I wonder. We've got five of us together right at the back of Block 21, and about the same again in the rows infront. i'm assuming that the ones currently not available probably will come available once the renewal window passes as they'll be people who had season tickets there last season. 1

ant Posted Monday at 15:12 Posted Monday at 15:12 Hmm. Bit frustrating to have it spun as a 5% reduction, only to find that caveated - and with less payment periods than has been the case for... years now? I'll have to run some sums. Given they want the first instalment at checkout, this goes both ways. If I am able to renew they can wait until 12th June.

An observation that is made every year, but there is a cost for offering what is effectively credit and loads of hassle from those who abuse the system. It's not like it's a surprise that there is an upfront cost if you want a season ticket, although I'd agree football is generally expensive in this country. Buy via credit card and you could have a number of paydays to pay, and buy a piggy bank and each match day shove in the cost of a pint and come the next season you'll be ahead of yourself. If it's still a struggle my sympathies but maybe other bills will need priority, and stay friends with people who might be able to offer you a ticket occasionally!
