Lighthouse Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Simple poll. Assuming you were to pick a back four and with Edwards having left, who would your CB pairing be? I’d have said THB and Quarshie, even before today’s match, as I think they are the best combination of cultured ball player and physical pace and power. They will need time and patience but, like children and garlic bread, I think it’s the future. 1
Saint86 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago The answer is so obvious, and yet it's just another example of how toddlers could set saints up better than Eckert 🤣😂 1
SambaMaverick Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago THB and then run a ninja warrior style course in training during the week to determine the other player
Osvaldorama Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Difficult. They all scare me in different ways. I agree that THB and Quarshie probably makes the most sense on paper.. But quarshie’s passing absolutely terrifies me, and THB has been awful this season. Maybe if we give them a few games they can form an actual partnership, especially with a vocal keeper behind them. Heartbreaking that we’ve gone from Fonte/Alderweireld/VVD to these guys, in just a few seasons. 2
ErwinK1961 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago When you break down the options, they really are all shite. 1

Heartbreaking that we’ve gone from Fonte/Alderweireld/VVD to these guys, in just a few seasons. Our new Israeli nutcase in nets did seem to be quite vocal at the end so that is a positive. Quashie played a couple of good through balls in the first half which was nice to see, including a key ball for one of the goals: The problem comes when he is pressed effectively, and there are no obvious passing options as Flynn Downes has his head up his arse, and everyone else is closely marked. 2
Whitey Grandad Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago It's stating the obvious but if you're going to play a back five (3 CBs) then you have three CB pairings. Not good.
qwertyell Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago It's a mess whatever the combination. Quarshie has the physical attributes, but is a danger to himself and everyone else technically, Harwood-Bellis is supposed to be a leader but can't lead. They should be the partnership to build up, but you wouldn't trust them as far as you can throw them. 2
SNSUN Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago THB plus new CB signing. But as that's not an option, then I guess THB and Wood. THB hasn't been great this season but he's probably our better CB. Wood has at least been half decent this season. Quarshie may come good but worries me, and Stephens is past it. If he ever was "it". Personally I'd like to see THB partner a Fonte type, someone that fills him with confidence and raises his game. 1
Elmore Saint Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Don't do this to me.... When I read "CB Partnership", I was hopeful that you'd uncovered some potential new owners.... 😞 1
Oisin Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago There is no right answer … they’re all crap. I’ve decided to go for Wood and Quarshie because of being young enough that they can improve and my interpretation of attitudes; I don’t like THB’s basically. THB is probably just about the best but I’m so done with weak, entitled losers that I’d rather put up with someone slightly worse. Happy to be disagreed with though, it’s not as if Wood and Quarshie deserve a place themselves to be honest
Harry_SFC Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I think THB is a twat but he's the best of a bad bunch. I think Quarshie is probably the next best, mainly for his physical attributes. He can't pass for toffee though. Wood and Stephens are just shite. 2
Baird of the land Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Find it amazing that quarshie is leading by such a massive margin considering at the moment imo he is the weakest of the 4.
AlexLaw76 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Moot point. The manager will probably never play 4 at the back again
