End of season prediction

128 members have voted

  1. 1. Are you hopeful or pessimistic? Assuming there are no further changes to the squad, where do you predict Saints will end up in the table after the last game of the season?

    • A late surge into auto slot
    • Play-off place
    • Just miss out on play-offs (7th-10th)
    • Way off play-offs, but not in danger of relegation
    • A late battle to avoid relegation (1-2 places outside drop zone)
    • Relegation to L1

On a positive note, I enjoyed the JPT win…..if we go down we would have the best budgets and squads in league 1 and should be favourites for whatever that trophy is called now…..

So I vote we go down!

Yeah, big fish, small pond. Makes SR look better. I like the thinking and I’m sure SR do too.

Should be on the fringes of the playoffs as a bare minimum. Now that we’ve got rid of Bazunu, who should have saved all but four goals that we’ve conceded under Tonda, our defence is going to start looking A LOT tighter and the goals against column should pretty much dry up. Obviously we’re still hit and miss up front but given that we’ve scored in all but two games under TE, despite Stewart’s injury and Downs being hopeless, we should have enough to win most of our remaining games.

Not sure if that's said in jest, but we've shown nothing - all season - to suggest we can 'win' most of our games. Where we are is pretty much where I predict we'll stay. Wobbling between 12th-15th.

Top 6 ambitions have long gone - should have enough to maintain mid table status.

SR don`t really have ambitions in the true sense of the word, they are more false platitudes

Other than Sheffield Wednesday, there’s genuinely not a single game I look at and think that’s 3 points right there. Whilst I’d like to say we’ll get enough points to stay up something pretty major is going to have to change as I can’t see where the points are going to come from.

I must admit JPT was excellent,  massive crowd and we had a good team. Leaque 1 title would be winnable. As it stands I think Saints are out of thier depth in Championship with a squad of misfits, retirements, injuries and odd tactics.

Anyone still confident of playoffs?

Anyone?

Make no mistake - we are in a relegation fight now.

I say fight, but there's very little evidence of that on display from any of our players.

Six points above the relegation zone. With two teams below us to play in the next two fixtures. What could go wrong?

we are lucky Blackburn are below us with bad form and not a great team. As you say, looking like a relegation scrap if we lose the next two. Leicester will be down there as well if 9 points are taken.

Our squad on paper gets play offs minimum, but we all know its played for real and not theoretically .

What makes managers lackluster when they become appointed at our club?

Why does the owner put up with this nonsense?....unfortunately we have to.

But in reality  i think the players A)arnt very good and B) just going through the motions.

The best Saints performance ive seen this season so far was the first half demolition at Charlton, but having said that we were still lucky to get away with some very lucky passing it around clever shit at the back at times if memory recalls.

How would a new manager cope with this squad and get them motivated and mentally toughened in order to progress the clubs fortune ?,they cant be interviewed  and told don't be successful, mediocrity is the order of the day you wouldn't

accept the job would you?

New manager bounce has well and truly burst since he became the permanent fixture, and the players have stopped playing to their potential .........................some thing has to change and break the malaise thats strangling the life out of the club.

Cooper would be my choice of new manager along with the caveat of no interference from the big money men who know nout  about tactics on the field........well onto the next big thing THE DERBY.............should be interesting .
