Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 19:12 Posted Saturday at 19:12 (edited) Not sure if this has been picked up in any other areas, but I wanted to highlight some behaviour witnessed today, namely SEAT SWITCHING/SITTING IN THE WRONG SEAT Having been at the game today the first fifteen minutes our view was obscured by several people all in the wrong seats (row KK). Quite simply two teenage girls (who continuously refused to show their tickets to anyone when questioned), two lads, late teens (kept moving from seat to empty seat while this debacle was going on) and a family of three who’s seats were already taken in their row. The family that was mean to sit in the girls seats were forced to split up, they were European so I’m guessing didn’t want to make a fuss. Eventually, when the stewards did their lap upstairs my wife, myself a few others highlighted this to the steward who after a lot of backchat from the teenagers told them to get out and go to their seats (which turned out to be row J). This went on for over five minutes. After this debacle I also overheard the lads say they were meant to be in the Itchen and had walked around. These two forced two older gentleman to sit elsewhere because they didn’t want to confront them or cause a scene. Twenty-five minutes into the game it had just about settled. There must’ve been around twenty-something people stood around during that time because various people were in the wrong seats. I just want to highlight, firstly the well done to the steward that rightly told them to get out (Block 19), and also to several other people that joined in flagging this with staff so people could actually enjoy the game. I’ve experienced it too in the Northam End a few times where it’s now safe standing and someone wants to go and stand with their mate, and effectively shunt others out. As a fanbase can we just be calling out all these dickheads that hold up families, older people, and hard-paying fans. It’s absolutely not on. It ruined the atmosphere, not to mention my view for the first quarter of the game and it needs highlighting. Also to call out those sitting in the wrong place gobbing off at innocent staff that are simply doing their job. Those teenage girls can’t have been more than sixteen and were vile. Apologies for the rant but worth highlighting, and wondered if anyone else had experienced this in recent times? Edited Saturday at 22:21 by Willo of Whiteley 4

Not to mention strolling in to try to take your seat 10 minutes after kickoff or getting up to go downstairs 10 minutes before halftime. Is the lure of alcohol that strong? 5
die Mannyschaft Posted Saturday at 19:45 Posted Saturday at 19:45 Its very strict and controlled in Northam. Im in block 43 and stewards stop people going up past row H to get to X and above. The amount of ticket checking is ridiculous. We get there some times 45 before KO and my sons mates come over from 2 blocks either side to have a chat for 25 mins and its like the Stasi. If there are 2 or 3 sears empty 29 mins in the should be OK fir someone in same block or near to sit with mates as they there week in week out. Fans just moving into other seats is very simple to sort as only one person can have the correct seat. At the beginning of season the security which may not be the regular stewards were checking mobile tickets for fans returning from concourse at HT creating chaos
Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 19:46 Author Posted Saturday at 19:46 I couldn’t believe how late people were coming up the stands, madness. Hardly a surprise some people think they can sit where they want

They were bordering on racist and fair play to the steward for just repeating himself and being professional. 2

Even if you went up and down the stairs 5 times just to see what happened they would still stop you and anyone behind. Been a few fights this season near us, vaping, cans beer, wacky backy, wacky baccy in vapes and all have been ejected from ground.

Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 22:06 Author Posted Saturday at 22:06 Seen lots of vapes around the stands every time I’ve been 1
Patrick Bateman Posted Saturday at 23:07 Posted Saturday at 23:07 Today seemed to be a very different crowd to normal. Loads of first timers, I had a few (not joking) outside asking for directions, then I noticed around us a fair few new faces even in the regular ST seats. No wonder the atmosphere was fucking guff.
Willo of Whiteley Posted Saturday at 23:10 Author Posted Saturday at 23:10 The eight or nine in front of us who’s seats were taken by idiots we’re French or Belgian, their English was very minimal when we checked they were ok after things had settled. Maybe cruise customers 🤷🏻♂️

Wasn’t as strong as Skunk, but you knew what it was unmistakably. Edited yesterday at 06:58 by Gloucester Saint
sockeye Posted yesterday at 11:09 Posted yesterday at 11:09 I'd be mortified to be in someone else's seat. It's an embarrassing feeling. Still, bravado comes in groups
RedArmy Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Some people never experienced the madness of the fake season ticket card era at the back of blocks 41 and 42. Not sure I got to actually stand by my seat for about 2 seasons.

dsrdorset Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Every season seems to get worse. Day trippers or tourists, but clearly first timers, wandering around after the start of the match, blindly drifting from row to row, without a clue where they are supposed to be. Stewards could do more if I'm honest. But I think it's a sad reflection of modern society where people seem to be too dense to read what's on their ticket or follow simple directions. 1

They have to decipher the row and the seat number which I'm sure that even Alan Turing would find difficult. 1

First request to see the tickets and the second show me or you’ll be ejected. Maybe some proper enforcement and it being publicised by the club might nip it in the bud. However being the UK and woke it’ll be everyone else’s fault apart from those causing the problems 1
Lord Duckhunter Posted 29 minutes ago Posted 29 minutes ago Fuck me, more and more people are getting up early for HT & leaving before the end. Unbelievably there were people leaving their seats before the full time whistle at the Pompey game. Too many nods, that’s the problem. The numbers we get, particularly away from home, is impressive, but it’s defo quantity over quality when it comes to proper support. 2

Agree, could see the 'Northam Wall' emptying 15 minutes before full time on Saturday, assume the collective dimwits have a hotdog with their name on it!
