I'll see your Wigan away and raise you an Oxford midweek away some ten or twenty years ago.

Swindon away midweek 0-0. Think might have been cup. Pretty sure it was -40 C in an uncovered stand. My feet only thawed out a few years ago

We probably need a separate thread on freezing your bits off at football matches. I've been cold but nothing memorable in terms of remembering a specific game. Mind you, I've probably been unrecognisable with all the hats, scarves, ski gear padding, winter boots and possibly those little exothermic hand warmers. Clapping would have sounded a bit muffled too..

Not sure what I feel about today, though the ideal scenario would be a late winning free kick by JWP. I didn't think those things happened to Saints, but then Le Tissier popped up with that fantasy script in the last game at The Dell, so there's always a little hope.

Cold at a football game? Home to Sheffield United in 2006, lost 0-1, think it was near Christmas. I’m still thawing out to this day.

We tried for Lankshear, so clearly had the pennies to go. Anyway, Mubama was supposed to be that man....

Lankshear most probably wanted to be the main striker though was always going to be a hard sell saying he could share duties with Larin.

Time for Mubama to step up. If he doesn't, we'll be in the market to get another striker in January, but in the meantime, we have a lot of games against teams at the top of this league.

Looks like we're in for a soaking today. Is that front section under cover?

Packed train up to London, 4 carriages just doesn't cut it.

I'm totally expecting a WHU win today. Bowen is way too good for this league, and neither of our full backs are particularly good at stopping raiders on the wings. No disgrace in that, and hopefully Saints can even the score at StMarys.

However, equally Saints have their own stars in midfield. Jander, JWP, and Azus, are all EPL standard players, so it will be a tight game.

West Ham are duty bound to attack Saints, that will open the game up, and Saints can be lethal on the break.

The rain will make things a bit of a lottery as well.

Game on

No we will get wet, first 30 rows get soaked.  I won't mind if we win

On coach just picked up at Winchester and cutting across to Basingstoke as M3 shut. Torrential rain and 40mph wind at 4pm means it won't be a skilled passing game. Lob the keeper and shoot on site today.

I think we'll get tonked today. We haven't played all that well since the international break and things will only get tougher with two key players likely out.

No chance, Saints are a good side, and Tonda has tightened things up.

Chances are it will be a tight defeat or draw, but come on Saints won't suddenly turn to shit because they're playing a decent side. If anything that tends to galvanised them.

Get what you say about Bowen, we should do what other teams do with Leo. We obviously won't though.

In London it's still calm .... calm before the Mubama storm!

Can't help but think we are going to get pumped. Avoided this one today as I the last 3 times i've been we were 3 down at half time (I think). Left at half time on all occasions.

Guess you're on about a 1-0 win a few days before Christmas, there was a bit of snow about and remember going on a coach from outside The Warrens. Think we had a decent turnout that night but is was on a big open terrace back then so a bit exposed to the elements. Just had a Google and it was 21st December 1979 and saw this...

I loved that game, one of my first aways, good fun afterwards with police Alsatians hanging off coats and horses charging us for no apparent reason. Wild times. Channon scored the winner if I remember correctly.

On our way down from Carlisle on the M1 junction 15. Set off 07:45 with only the wife predicting a win for Saints. Why are we doing this again?

Welington was awful against Bowen in the cup game at St Marys.  Obviously Bowen is far too good for this league so anyone we put out there will struggle, but not sure there is much between Welington and Manning tbh

If Manning and Leo display their partnership Bowen will be starved and no need not to play Manning.

I can already picture Manning trying to defend Bowen by standing 20 yards away from him

The best place to defend from is the centre circle. Every defender knows that
