JohnnyFartPants Posted 21 February, 2009 Share Posted 21 February, 2009 They said it couldnt be done but today Pearson (best ever manager from England) finally had his mega high points tally toppled by the skillful Dutchman. In what can only be described as impossible, Wotte has stepped into the "best ever manager from the northern hemispheres" boots and performed heroics. It really was a JFK moment for world football. Arizona Posted 21 February, 2009 Share Posted 21 February, 2009 Hasn't Pearson just set a new club record of about 25 games in a row unbeaten for Leicster? Still, he's had £500,000,000 to spend on transfers and, as Burley proved 2 years ago, if you have lots of money to spend, you are guaranteed to finish at least 20 points clear at the top of the table. See, we can all be sarcastic.

Window Cleaner Posted 21 February, 2009 Share Posted 21 February, 2009 Why are we still talking about the history that was Pearson; He kept us up, I'm told that he was too expensive for us to keep.Whether that's true or not I just couldn't say, I guess it might well be because I respect the person that told me. Wotte has now won a game to go with the what ,2 draws and 2 defeats to date. we'll have to see how it goes on from there. If we can win again next week we may well be on our way. provided that administration isn't the inevitability that some seem to think it is. Sorry, how do you know what I think/thought/wanted? Do you know me? If it's of any interest to you, I want Saints to survive and do well. What irritates me is people crowing unnecessarily - you can call it ribbing if it makes you feel better - and counting their chickens before they have hatched. Come back on the last day of the season when Wotte has kept us up, when I shall be pleased as punch, and continue your ribbing then. I for one will be up for a laugh. Until then I would politely suggest that your deliberately provocative, "I'm right you're wrong" style musings - sorry, ribbings - remain in your head and don't hit the keyboard. Arizona Posted 21 February, 2009 Share Posted 21 February, 2009 Yeah, but he's done it much better than you. Pearson's first 5 games - W1 D4 - 7 points Wotte's first 5 games - W1 D2 L2 - 5 points :-s All he is doing is taking the moral high ground over a group of people who don't exist, i.e. those who thing Pearson is some kind of god. I'm one of Pearson's biggest fans, but I didn't think he was all that. I do however think we'd be a solid midtable side if he were still here. Thanks for the advice but nah. I dont think one single of the anti Wotte brigade would be keeping quiet now had he lost. If its ok to wind up those open to giving the current set up more time then its ok to point out we have a better manager now than we had in Pearson after the same amount of games. You should relish the news as Pearson was the best back then. Come on, get with the times.

If you are angry at the "anti-Wotte" brigade's way of treating a defeat, why are you following suit by behaving similarly when we have won? Tonight, I don't care who is in charge. We have WON for only the second time at home ALL SEASON. Isn't that reason to put petty differences aside and savour the moment? Why waste energy on being aggro? I just don't understand. We're all Saints fans, we have won a game (a rare enough event this season). Let's just be happy for once.
