Last game away @ Forest

Lowestoft-Saint

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what sort of turn out we will get for this trip.....If..... We need either a point or three to stay up.

Im not sure what our allocation for the game is, but wondered if this game could see masses of Saints fans travel up just at the spur of the moment...

I know the turn out we had at Dellhurst park can never be repeated but I think this game could possibly see a few of the Old boys out on the lash....

Has anyone any thoughts on its potential to be a sort of Great Escape day out

Just looked on national rail, for train times and prices.

I was thinking of booking in advance, thinking tickets would be cheap.

Earliest train of the day: Depart Soton Central 06.55, arrive Nottingham 12.18: £82.50

Journey time 5.23hrs.

Looks like there's loads of engineering works over that weekend.

I would recommend going via London.

Southampton to Waterloo (retn) - £30

tube to St Pancras (retn) - £5

St Pancras to Nottingham (single) - £11

Nottingham to St Pancras (single) - £9

TOTAL - £55

And a darn sight quicker!

If there's engineering works, come up to Winchester/Basingstoke/Reading - and go into London Paddington.

I hope not. Can't stand these last game of the season finishes.

Some one posted on another thread that will will get 4000 tickets. All will sell if the result matters.

I posted that, but it's just what a Forest fan told me. NOT CONFIRMED.

I know we've had this before, but can someone remind me what the obligation is for number of away tickets in the CCC?

Think Premiership was smaller of 3,000 or 10% capacity, but don't know for CCC.

We'd sell 4,500 for Forest easily if we get them!

according to http://www.footballgroundguide.com/nottingham_forest/

What Is It Like For Visiting Supporters?

Up to 4,750 away fans can be accommodated in the lower tier of the Bridgford Stand, where the facilities and view of the action are good. I personally did not have any problems at the City Ground, but I have heard of away fans getting some hassle; for example it has not been unknown for the odd object to be thrown down on away fans from so called Forest fans seated above. Don't be surprised also if the stewards keep asking you to sit down if you stand in the seated areas, which can get annoying. There are also an element of Forest supporters in the 'A' Block of the Main Stand nearest to the away supporters, who feel it is their duty to continually berate away fans during the game, which can be unsavoury. It is also advised to keep colours covered around the ground, especially if you support another Midlands team. The good news though is that away fans can really make some noise from this stand, so make the most of it!

So we could have over 4.5K there, wearing hard hats. Have a feeling that's more than were at Derby for the play-offs 2 yrs ago.

Just a quick question. I've not been around for some time, but how do you get from Winchester to Paddington without a fair detour? Not being smart, just curious.

Won't be there but reminds me of when I went to see us beat Forest 3-1 up there (Magilton, Evans 2). More of that (if we are not already down) would be just the ticket.

We were bottom the day we went there and ended up escaping, was amazing singing "we're staying up, we're staying up, Saints are staying up" as we 15,000 dejected Forest fans walked past. They went down that year...

Was that the game when Le Tiss missed a penalty or was it the reverse fixture at the dell. I was there but it's a long time ago. I think it was at the City Ground though.

No matter how many tickets they give us, it won't match the 76/77 FA Cup when about 10000 Saints fans took The Trent End. The match itself was one of the all time classics, a 3-3 draw with an absolute stunner from Ossie that nearly ripped the back of the net out.

I fear we maybe be needing more than a draw this time around though.:(

No. That was in March 93 when Crossley saved and Le Tiss put the rebound over the bar.

He then scored a belter in the 2nd half but we lost 2-1. Cloughies last game at the Dell, as they were relegated at the end of the season and he retired.

Its strange because over the years we have had some good encounters with Forest, and even though we have not always come out on top I have had a bit of a soft spot for Forest but I guess thats because I liked Cloughie.

I thought his achievements with Forest gave clubs like ours hope and a belief that the smaller & not so fashionable clubs could make a mark on the game...

He may well of been outspoken and controversial but Im glad I can say I was around during his time, he was a legend.

However he has gone now so come May 3rd I hope we are already safe but if not I hope we can get the points to make us safe, whatever way Im sure the day will be very interesting for teams at the bottom of the CCC.

Wolves who play away at Forest have taken 5279 tickets(not surprisingly sold them all), so it gives us an idea of what sort of allocation we could get.

if its a do or die game for both then you can bet Forest fasn will be out in their numbers so that may limit the tickets we can take.

Exactly my thoughts.

If it is an us or them relegation scenario we will probably be allocated the minimum permittable amount to reduce our influence on the outcome. :(

Yep, you're right. We won 2-1 at the City Ground and lost 2-1 at home.

Yeah 95 I think, one of my first away games and still one of the best. NANANANA, NANANANA, HEY-EY-EY, MICKY EVANS :)
