Also, can someone dig up the threads from when after gorman and dodd left when quite a few posters on here were saying Blackwell wasn't good enough to manage us...

'Dig them up' yourself - what do you think we are, your PA's...????

Could we even attract any of these managers - we are not exactly stable are we?

New Owners and a stable financial situation, yes i believe SFC could attract Boothroyd.

The young lads will be a year better off, and have the ability to do very well in League 1, with the club seeing the back off ALL the senior pro's bar KD and CP, i think there is plenty to work with.

Once relegation is confirmed and the new owners bin Wotte, how about a call to AB to see if he'd be interested.

Always liked the way he set watford up to play, was badly done there i think.

There's something about Boothroyd I can't quite put my finger on, but I suspect he is a little unhinged.

AB is a nasty piece of work I am told (allegedly)

By all accounts he lost it all a bit at the end of his reign at Watford. I still like him and reckon he'll have learned a lot there, that he can apply successfully here.

AB as manager. No way. I know we are a poor team and will need some proper leadership if the club survives but he is a hoof it manager, the style of football he plays has absolutely no place in the modern game not even in League 1

I think you'll find that he attempted to play passing football at the beginning of this season, which has slowly improved over the course of the season, I think he was playing 'hoof' to get the most out of what he had.

Boothroyd is overestimated on the back of a single season of success.

Ince is a charlatan as a manager, as he was as a player.

Tisdale p1sses on both IMO.

Can we prise him away from The Grecians.....Wages..not much to offer..prospects for better things to come one day..maybe. An ex Saint as well.

He definitely has learnt his managerial trade at Team Bath and Exeter..Highly rated around the leagues...Also wise old owl Perryman with good advice and guidance...:)

I would go for Tisdale.....If not Harford at Luton for me.

So many managers who should do better fall by the wayside because of their players. I believe that's been our case for several years, except for Burley of

course he was just bad, irrational in his player wish list and bad at managing his players. After his noble efforts Ipswich,Derby and ourselves have found their way into deep financial difficulties. The scourge of football-George Burley.

I see he is now having player discipline problems with Scotland, claims that some of his staff gave them the nod to go drinking of course, surely he's the boss and there should be no confusion as to whether going drinking is on or not.

I have heard Tisdale on the local radio and he does speak a lot of sense. At Christmas he made his players go for a swim in the sea as a punishment / warm down the day after a draw. Can you imagine the Saints players doing that? It did hit home as we were pulling away from Home Park....what a dark day that was...

George will no doubt scotch the rumours circulating about his drinking water at a training session recently... without delay. It will ruin his reputation.:D

Ottery - you didn't / don't have anything to do with the Devon acadamy as Ottery? A few Saints players came through there?

I'm not making any accusations about his personal lifestyle cos I just don't give a sh*t but everywhere he goes there seems to be trouble with player discipline and often financial woes start the second after he leaves the place.

Manager in playing the style of footbal that gets the best out of his players shocker...

Might of been nice if we tried that rather than imposing total football on them.

Well you can only go on what you've seen but it seems like Boothroyd is a decent manager and doesn't need a lot of money. He seems to be able to motivate a team as well which is nice. The football maybe a bit direct but whenever Watford played us they scored goals and frankly at the moment I'd take less tippy tappy football and a few more goals f'sure.

As an outsider it did seem as if Boothroyd was a victim of his own success - getting Watford promoted on a shoe string and then being blamed when a very poor side inevitably struggled in the premiership.

Boothroyd is a total *****, if his apparent self belief and confident manner was so wonderful

why were Watford[ crap football and all], ever relegated in the first place?

he maybe but some managers learn from the sack and improve with experience, but i do not think he is any better than wotte.

Probably a combination of having a team that just wasn't good enough (there's only so much a manager can do) and a style of play that was easy to figure out in the premiership. Let's face it, Watford were always odds on to go down so to totally blame the manager is a bit unfair.

Anyway, I'm not too interested in how he'd fair as our manager in the premiership - it's getting out of league 1 that's more important right now and IMO he'd be a good shout.

most successful clubs stick with their manager for more than one season at a time, its a recipe for disaster to change manager every season.

It is indeed, but I would also say that appointing sht managers in the frst place is an even bigger recipe for disaster.
