Saints buyout deal hangs in balance

The Echo will be digging, but are not really any better off than any one one else - FRy and or the bidders will leak what is to their advantage and like us teh Echo reporters with attempt to fill in the gaps. NOt sure I believe the overseas in the wings, if Fry has set a deadline of today - (believed) as it does them no good, they are either going to bid or not. Still think its all down to proof of funds and up front deposits to keep things ticking over while the deal is finalised.

It's to allow your computer to automatically refresh your

computer's screen. If you're using Windows XP, this is especially

handy if you're trying to keep up with current things like sports

scores, the stock market, and even changes to your hard drive.

Normally, changes like these aren't shown until you hit the F5 key on

your keyboard. But we'll tell you how to edit your registry to make

these changes automatic.

First of all, always backup your registry since any mistakes in

editing it can lead to serious computer problems.

Now that your registry is backed up, click on Start, then Run, and

then type Regedit in the Run box. Click OK or hit enter on your

keyboard.

Once you are in the Registry Editor, navigate to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / System / CurrentControlSet / Control / UpdateMode

Once you've found that location, edit the DWORD value to be between 1

and 5.

Exit the Registry Editor and then restart your computer so that the

changes made will go into effect.

Wow, Southampton Football Club (based in the town that gave you the clarity of vision, ability to sell an idea and determination to succeed as repeatedly demonstrated by Southampton City Council) embroiled in a "couldnt organise a p*ss-up in a brewery scandal"

There's a real shocker....

Has Fry lost control?

Has he lost the plot?

Have we scaled the Pinnacle or did we get buried in a landslide?

Did Jacko's group not manage to fly over the cuckoos nest?

What do contractual issues mean, is it the real problem?

Have we forgotten to defend the far post from a corner?

What make of Vacuum cleaner did Leon use?

Did Fry have Jam on his toast for his Full English?

Will the Echo publish something new?

For all this and more don't bother hitting F5 all day today, we won't find out

Hooray, yet another new thread with no actual news about anything in it!

What is the ****ing point? How long before this just becomes yet another thread repeating the exact same ******** we can read on all of the other ones?

Calm down.

Be fair, we are all getting fed up with the c*ck-swinging contest that appears to be going on within the confines of SMS at the moment...

Yeah, of course... but there is no need to have a go at people that post links to the Echo or other news sources.

Oddly, Norway would be one of the people that should benefit most from this as he, like myself, are out of the area.

Chill out man, Mark Fry is bigger than Matty and Jesus combined.

He will be if he brokers this deal (I will ignore your childish sarcasm)

If he kills SFc for the sake of a couple of hundred grand, he'll find himself very rapidly more unwelcome in this city than the person who caused this mess in the first place.

Why?

Its called my right to freedom of speech.

Fry shouldnt be at this stage to get p*ssed off with Pinnacle unless they passed the proof-of-funds stage. He's haggling over the f**king price, and should be more grateful he's even got a half-decent offer

One interesting sentence in todays Echo article.

"The Echo understands that there IS enough money in the coffers to meet the wagebill commitment even if no deal is agreed prior to the players and staff getting paid."

It would appear fears of the club folding this week are premature?

Suggests 16million could be the cost to the buyer.

Surprising if true.

Also begs the question why, unless this is "new money", did the football club not just prop up the PLC if it was only a few grand over its borrowing limits?

Suggests to me that someone has offered to underwrite the liabilities.

The players union in the past has paid players wages when clubs are in administration but as SFC are not in administration who knows

As opposed to banal and boring in yours ?

Alpine before this gets silly (oops too late) teh coment about changing your mind was tongue in cheek and NOT meant as an insult in any way - afterall changing your mind IS to be encouraged. Now if you could add WHY and based on what info, it would be real progress... ;-)

These headlines from the Echo need an ITK ranking. Is the deal really in the balance or is the Echo just doing what we're all doing and reading things into the non-activity? I hope it's the latter. For all we know the only reason it's gone over into this week was that the man who signs the cheques had some business commitment in Russia over the weekend he couldn't get out of. I know I should be preparing for the worst, but kidding myself that it will all be all right in the end is the only thing that allows me to get on with my life rather than just sitting hitting Ctrl F5.

Fence sitting might not make for interesting forums, but criticising someone for waiting for the information before forming an opinion is slightly retarded.

The whole argument is slightly retarded and a waste of bandwidth. A bit like the Echo website.
