Notts F reported to offer £1m DMG

£1m+ is a decent offer for McGoldrick.

I would like to see him stay, but being a Nottingham lad, I wouldn't be surprised if he asked to go to Forest.

Hopefully he'll remain at Saints, but I'm not convinced.

Doubt anyting will happen until the ownership is sorted and He Who Shall Not Be Named gets his budgeting, coaching setup etc in place

He has domestic situation back in Nottingham and I feel he wants back to that part of the world...His career also in a higher league will be important....Anything over a million will be a good deal for Saints.

how will it be good for saints.Goalscorers to replace somebody who will get at least 15 goals this season will cost more.Add to that the 20%sell on clause and it is a c### deal.

Ok We accept 1.2 mil and throw BWP in as well to make the deal happen. Like most the new Manager/ Coach and new owner will make the final decision. Always difficult when we drop to Div 1 and player wants higher league..End of day does he really want to stay regardless of what contract says, I think he will be off....nicholas...Its just my opinion...STAY cool.

We can't sell him until we get the new board and manager in, also with Saga, Rasiak and probably John going that leaves us with pretty much no strikers in the squad that have proven themselves at all. With 20% sell on clause we would see £800k which I personally dont think is enough as no matter what you think of him, his goal tally was decent last season for a first full season, he is nothing special, but is the best we have left

TBH, we would have been even more in the sh1te had we not had him last season...if that is possible...

But to be fair, his body language tells you he's been told he's 'wonderful' since the age of 11 - arrogance is fine as long as you apply that talent fully....he can be a top player, just needs a strong manager to get his act together....

Good luck if you go Dave..just DON'T BECOME ANOTHER JOURNEYMAN....

I've been under the impression that McGoldrick has wanted to leave for a while now, and even asked Wotte for a move back in January. If David really wants to go, then all Saints can do is get the best price for him. After all, there's no point keeping an unhappy player.

Having said that, I'd like to think that the new manager (or Wotte) would be able to make the final decision on whether we sell or not, and so I'd hope that any decision is made once the new owners are in place.

it is not a case of being cool. We have as a club been criticised for selling our talent, if the new owners do allow this does it mean we can expect more of the same? This is not a criticism before everybody gets all up about it.

As for DMG I wouldnt expect not to wish to go back to the CCC, so do i and so i would rather us keep a goalscorer who will become worth a lot more as time goes on

I would suggest that footballing decisions will be made now or...Hopefully by MLT very soon... i CAN'T SEE how we can wait until the owner takes over weeks down the line

In MLT I trust. Hopefully Mr Fry does not have to make that decision re Mighty Mac.

I stiill say if he wants to go he will go and NO strike please David.

Not a bad player but not irreplacable either. I dont think we'd miss him too much. Might give Lallana the opportunity to play behind the front two instead of on the wing which is his natural position and would probably also be enough to get Jan Paul Saiejs and have a bit of change as well.

I'm really not conviced by him. It could be one that he goes onto be great in time but i don't see it. Either way, if he wants out and the money is right the decision is out of our hands so it's not something to get o upset by.

A million pounds buy's you a lot of striker in League One.

But like others say, I'll be v surprised is anything happens until the ownership situation is sorted out.

Doesn't really send a great message out if we do sell him. It should be left to the new manager, whoever that may be.

I couldn't give two f*cks whether he wants to go or not. He is our player under contract.

Thats my opinion as well.

Some have said he wants to go but if a new manager with good credentials comes on board then that could change his mind.

Snap their hands off, let him go if he is not committed , and move on!......can use that money to find 2 half decent strikers who can take a penalty with a degree of competence, can actually kick a ball adequately, and also look as if they want to be on the pitch!!

There you go, just shows how hypocritical fans are.!!!!!

You really are a wet Fish......FFS, I said that with a smile. You think he's great, I think he's toss.........nick, it's about opinions, who's to say your right and I'm wrong or visa versa. For future reference nick.....who do you compare him with??

This deal was mooted after the Forest game.

Sell him and try to get Richie Lambert.

This deal was mooted long before that, I can assure you. McGoldrick is pretty keen to return to Nottingham from what I hear.

Hopefully the new owners come in and he has a change of heart, but if not, we need to get the best deal and move on.

He's a good player, and he'd be fantastic in League One, but he's not irreplaceable.

I'd take their collective arms off. We should be paying them.

Though I suppose he's scored a few in League One already, maybe he's found his level. Let him scuff 30 (15 penalties) this season and then sell the lazy get.

McGoldrick is entirely the sort of player we need to be keeping, I hope he has the grace to stick around and see what happens when ******** completes *** takeover.

One million isn't really a lot for a player like him, but I guess it comes down to how much ******* is willing to put into the club as to whether we keep him.

young player, first full season, played much of it as sole striker or behind striker or midfield, goal tally that beats our top scorer of many seasons, in poor team, scored some excellent solo goals. Watford away he was class above everyone on the pitch.

He is no MLT but to write of a 21 yr old after that season as toss -is just wrong!

Again NickG.....it is all a matter of opinion, why is yours any more valued than mine, every player in the history of the game, has had critics and admirers.....maybe I'm spoiled by all the Really good players we have had in the past, and not the dross foisted on the club at present.......IMHO of course.

its opinions but he ain't toss! He is not as good as Pahars etc but I think many had grudge against him as they blamed him for JP/Wotte/Lowe relying on him as first forward over Saga, Rasiak and john.

You cannot argue with the quality of his goals or the return in circumstance above.

Some may think he will go onto bigger things, some may think he will do pretty well in CCC level, some may so he is average at this level -fair enough, but to say he is toss is wrong.

Guess if he is he will be leaving us, on free transfer for league 2!

agreed. just remember the sitters he missed, not to mention the penalties. Still, will improve under Davies - the manager we should have had - at Forest.

I agree. It was his first full season and playing in a formation that few other clubs would have played in a poor team with little or no support. I see Davies is also after another striker to play with him and will no doubt get the best out of him.

Like Jones, Fuller and Blackstock you just know we’ll be punching ourselves knowing we undervalued him next season… It seems to be the way with our club.

Although if he doesn’t want to be at the club, then that complicates things. Maybe a new manager would sway his mind though? I’d like to see us wait for a few weeks before we make a decision.

McG is a Nottingham lad and will want to go. However, now we are in the Exclusivity period McG can wait after signing that new deal last summer. I'd also hope we could get at least £1.5m for him. Not my favourite player but improved at the the end of last season and would score goals at L1 level IMO even if he's only just CCC standard at the moment.
