Why on earth is Harte not selected? He has made zero mistakes all season. full of confidnece, a man mountain and the future if English keeping. Why was he not given 3 games prior to the world cup and then he would have been as experienced as Green? Cole was totally restricted by the selection of Gerrard not freed. He offers zero cover and left him exposed. Algeria didn't take advantage but more luck than judgement. Terry is slow. He must have a little bit of pace next to him. Why wasn't a pacey centre back selected in the squad other than Rio? Capelo's reliance on Carragher to replace Rio just shows how weak we are in that position. Christ, he wasn't selected previously because he wasn't good enough, so why select him now? Barry just didn't look match fit and now that Capello has made him the `lynchpin' (Laughable seeing as he is just an average club player) of the side we have problems. Lampard thrives in a five man midfield where he can roam. He has never looked good ever when asked to do a proper centre midfield job. Gerrard can not play at left midfield. Where has Lennon's balls gone. Go on son beat the man FFS or give someone else a go. Getting the ball once every 15 minutes can't help much. Heskey can't get in the Villa side. Enough said. This the world cup not the league cup. Why is Rooney collecting the ball deeper than Lampard?

The club have shown utter contempt for fans on this issue. Fans charter. What a complete load of S H I T. I get the feeling they think all football fans are complete idiots and treat them as such. Lets just see how many turn up for a midweek game in winter. Top of the league or not people will still give it a miss. ST holders have been undervalued by Cortese.

I assume by law that HMRC will now have to accept 20p in the pound, once the 28 day cooling off period passes? It just seems madness that players will get their £10m worth of wages next year but the state will get a pittance. Bazaar. At least the derby games will continue sometime down the line and we can get our revenge.
-
it says roughly 80% ie 79% perhaps?
-
when the club is struggling we are fans, when its all right thank you very much, we are customers.
-
only if said punters turn up 14 or 15 times.
-
I doubt he would want to come back. We hardly ever played him and when we did it was often out wide where he looked a lot less comfortable. I'm not sure I agree with Window Cleaner about him not being sharp in front of goal. He was a proper fox in the box, especially in the cup games when he was given playing time. He did miss a chance or two - who desn't?
-
ignoring the `are HMRC a creditor over the 25% threshold' factor, if PFC force the CVA through by ignoring the HMRCs claim for £32m, are HMRC then forced to accept the 20p in the pound?
-
briliant golas to games ratio for us. Should have got far more opportunities up front, as despite the offsides he looked far more effective in the middle than out out wide.
-
did he? Which game was that then? Every time he has come on to play in front of Harding he has got in his way and looked completely lost IMO. Looking aty Pardews intentions, he has identified a top class player who is available for next to notihing. Its' a no brainer. Get him in as he is better than Mills. Mills becomes surplus to requirements now and may leave, but in Pardews eyes the squad has improved.
-
what a gret battle we are going to have on our hands - Harding vs Dickson for the left back berth. Hopefully we can that sort of competition throughout the squad.
-
yes they own him, although there are oustanding payments of course.

The "Lamberts off" rumours are doing the rounds again

is he not a very similar player to Ashton who coped well with the steps up in class? -
I don't think Tells stories arab friend was invisible, I thinl the first one eat him, hence the struggle get into his shirt or find the other.
-
I meant, I am not having a moan at you, but who else is out there for us as Calderon was THE target.
-
not a moan, just wondered who is available? I didn't see too many right backs that impressed me last season. Shaleum Logan looked terrific but I'm not sure City will let him go or he would be willing to move to a League 1 side, even one on the up. Obviously there are players in the league below and above that might fit the bill. Ideas?

smokescreen for a Samedo bid?
-
you seem to know a lot. How so?
-
actually he joined them adn then five minutes later they hit massive financial problems. He stayed despite not being paid for months and the fans loved him, but there is only so long you can play for a team without getting paid. How do you know he is losing his pace?
-
The Calderon point wasn't. We pulled out ages ago. The adu point is also false as there has been zero contact.
-
We offered him two years on a higher wage, Brighton offered three. He went for the three. Calderon today said: "I think it would have been two years with Southampton. We were still sorting out the terms."
-
I thought I read that we were only offering a two year deal whilst they have given him a three year deal.

Different Ownership and Managment, same old summer

having got Dickson but lost out on Calderon, where does that leave your thoughts then? Both looked top notch to me, and Calderon was clearly our first choice. We will either have to go for second best now or pay out more for someone of equal ability (as Calderon was on a free). Very surprised we did not manage to secure his services personally, but such is life. I wonder if this is a similar situation to the centre half chase in the window when we ended up with Seaborne.
