You say "all it does is.." dismissively and then list out all precisely the reasons people put "credence" in a five or six year contract. It doesn't mean "SFA" , it means the things you have listed in your post and that's all it needs to mean. More wages for the player, yep, agents get a bit, yep and builds in a better fee for any future sale, yep. That's not "SFA", it's significant and the entire point of contracts. Not sure what there is that you don't understand. If we didn't bother giving extensions to Bertrand, VVD, Forster and just let them run down to nothing because they mean "SFA" you'd be blubbering like a baby about lack of ambition.

Did Aston Villa play really all well last season but just couldn't score, then?
-
I really miss the "why don't we take Wayne Bridge back" posts.
-
He will not go this summer.

With Chelsea bidding for Kante and Pogba edging toward Old Trafford, the race for the title of having the second best midfield options in the Premier League is really hotting up.

The sound of ceiling glass being smashed was audible as far away as Crewe.

I'm into my fourth day of camping outside Steve Grant's porch door. Passers-by have been very generous. Had a long chat with one man who really wants David Armstrong up there. We shall overcome.

Just walk away from what?
-
Just forum hysteria. VVD has just signed a massive extension after one bloody season and people still convinced he's leaving. Mentalists.

Hammond and May running the country now.

Not really. The Labour party membership are an utterly irrelevant portion of the electorate, and rapidly becoming less and less reflective of the British population. Sure he can win again but so what? He can't lead and he has zero appeal to the 4m swing voters he needs to gain to win a general election. It's like winning the Dad's race at school sports day and then thinking that means you can beat Usain Bolt.

I never expect you to say anything remotely amusing.
-
You've taken me apart there and no mistake. Well, to be honest I didn't even read it all.
-
That's right. I made up anyone ever saying that Cedric was a cheap replacement for Clyne. No one ever on this forum even thought it until I brought it up just now. I do apologise.

You don't seem to understand what a secret ballot is.

This. Voted Labour in every election in my 20 year life but I will never ever vote for a Corbyn Labour party in an general election.
-
He really, really isn't. If he ever makes it to a general election he and his party will get annihilated. A Corbyn general election will basically be six weeks of Paul Nuttal working the streets of Grimsby, Hull and Sunderland reminding people that Jeremy is an unpatriotic best mate of the IRA who wants to give the Falklands back. 50% of the UKIP campaign will be Corbyn is a loony. Theresa May and the Tories will barely have to lift a finger - they'll walk it in their heartland and all English marginals without breaking sweat. It will just be a question of how many seats Labour lose to Plaid in Wales, UKIP in northern/midland urban areas and a potentially more competent Lib Dems back in their little enclaves.
-
They let him vote in it. Absolute disaster. It's probably not sensible really but Theresa May could call an election tomorrow and wipe Labour out.
-
Why would we get a big bid for Cedric? He was the cheapo rubbish bargain basement replacement for our best player signed by our penny pinching asset stripping clueless board. He can't have become one of our better-players-we-can't-afford-to-keep-losing already can he? I can't keep up.

"I'm very pleased," he said. "It's been a fantastic move for me since the day I came to this club and I look forward to many more successful years and really pushing forward. "I've enjoyed my football here. I've really enjoyed the club, and the fans have been fantastic with me personally as well, so I couldn't think of any better place to play football and to keep on developing. "The club is always thinking forward and I really want to be a part of that, and I am sure we can go on to achieve even better things." How is that not talking about ambition? Or is the actual specific word "ambition" really that important to you?

Well he would always have done one last PMQs whatever so where exactly is this days delay from the Queen coming from then?
-
Bumbling clueless Les Reed can never get any deals over the line or ever convince anyone to stay ever. Ever.

Don't be ridiculous. We have plenty of negotiating power and obviously there will be negotiations post A-50. We negotiated all the time on loads of things with the EU when we were in it, as do other EU countries, so why would it stop now we're out? If anything it is the Superbowl of global negotiations, possibly one of the most complex multi-lateral negotiations the world will have ever seen. It's going to be fascinating stuff. I really think you need to join in and stop trying to rerun the referendum over and over. It's over and as PM TM said today, it's up to us to make a success of it.

Thanks a bunch, Brexit.

When did this vote on PR happen then?
