Why can't people say I told you so? We have to read you churning out drivel about us appointing a "Steve Wigley style manager" and "Rudi Skacel players". Turned out to be utter sh it, from a knee jerk grizzling idiot. Told you so.
-
Come on, there is always room for astonishing displays of zero self awareness like this absolute gem: Roll on us being one nil down at half time sometime in the next month. Let's see who is "deeply frustrated" then.
-
That's a lovely left field bit of whataboutery, well done. Funny the "no such thing as instant success" routine from the forum brains trust is dead now, in that four of our last five managers delivered exactly that. It's a shame, I miss the Alex Ferguson story being endlessly retold. Let's be clear: I like Tadic and hope he will be the best signing we make this summer. He has massive boots to fill. My beef us with Wes Tender sneeringly dismissing Lallana as not a significant player for us, comparing him leaving Saints with Andy Carroll leaving Liverpool as a flop, and Lallana being straightforward to replace because the club has replaced poor performing players with better ones and this is just like that. I know Les is waiting for Tadic to score and have a great game so he can pretend I have written him off but I haven't for a second: I think he's going to be brilliant, and by far the most exciting signing we've made.
-
He's already said we are not buying another CB. We have our first choice two, one just signed a new deal and is now captain and one cost eight sodding million. We have two squad back ups. We're covered. So crack on and get furious because it won't happen.
-
Would be amazed if it that kind of thing isn't more widespread, as we saw with that nice David Dein a while ago. Laddish culture/banter but getting out of hand. Tan has just mined the company phone/email records and done him over just when he was about to land a new job. Pretty sweet. Doesn't excuse MM, by any means. Idiotic stuff in the main. But I would think there are a few managers out there deleting their sent items this morning (not that that would actually help).
-
He scored all his 10 goals last season in one game against Newcastle? Wow. I didn't remember it like that but you know best. Guess it must have been that single performance that got him in the Premier League team of the year and the England squad.
-
That's just what Lionel Messi would say. Great debating style.
-
Tadic coming from Holland via Serbia is relevant because while you think he can just drop in, I think he has a job to do to adjust to the league, the city, the club and his new team. He is a newcomer in all departments. It is very difficult to expect him to stroll in and take on the role of a massively significant member of our squad. Let's remember in your great debating style Tadic gets compared to Messi but just as pointlessly I could say one of Barcelona's best players is Messi, we've lost one of our best players, we've lost our Messi. Do you see? We can all pointlessly compare people to Messi. Great debating style. Meanwhile, you continue to bridle at anyone daring to say Lallana was a significant player for us and hard to replace. Hey, compare him to Carroll again. Compare him to "players that leave because they're not good enough". Great debating style.
-
As you've demonstrated again here, you think one of the Premier League players of the season and five-year Southampton stalwart is a doddle to replace: switch one out, drop the new one in. Fine. I don't. And nice you have a go at my debating style, when all you seem to do is roll out a "yeah but would you say the same about [insert utterly irrelevant player here]. No mention of Andy Carroll this time but another airing for Wes favoured touchstone Lionel Messi. In no way a vain attempt at points scoring. Oh no. And you've got, like, loads of objectivity, haven't you. Well done.
-
In Wes' s world we just swap Lallana out, parachute Tadic in and bish bosh job done. Basically like changing batteries in a remote control, because Lallana's contribution as a Saints stalwart, figurehead and virtual one club man has no additional value that can't be easily replaced by a Serbian who couldn't point to Southampton on a map two months ago.
-
What a load of rubbish. One cursory mention of Vardy is all I've seen this summer, coincidentally on the day he signed his new contract. But if you want to latch on to that compared to the multiple sources and reports on Rojo and Hernandez then crack on. In other news: it's not your money.
-
So you didn't think we'd spend it all in one window, neither did I and neither did pretty much every Saints fan alive, but you are still having a gripe at Krueger for supposedly inferring something which pretty much no one including you took out of what he said. How, exactly, does that work?
-
You don't need to be the most intelligent poster the world has ever seen to know we clearly were not going to spend all the money in one window. Most normal humans with an interest in Saints realised this.
-
Only the most spectacularly dim Saints fans thought for a second we would spend all the money in this window. Well done. You made the cut.
-
Are you a Leicester fan now, then?
-
So after a summer ranting about player sales and all the money going into a Swiss bank account (how's that working out for you?), you're now ranting because we haven't sold Morgan. Never knowingly not swivel eyed.
-
You're right it isn't. Not a reason for it to be locked, though. The best thing about this thread is it genuinely does keep one topic in one place: there is only one thread about that lot down the road and this am it. It's a rare demonstration of good forum discipline. There could be an argument to change the name of the thread, which has happened a couple of times (most hilariously when Fitzhugh went apesh it on the back of one quite neat title change). As this is no more than a fine receptical for all Skate news/opinion/analysis maybe we should just call it "The Dumping Ground: The Pompey thread".
-
Looks that way now. Trying to work out whether him playing in the first team already makes it easier or harder to take. If he was rotting I'd be annoyed "You don't even need him Arsene" etc but this feels even worse. Gaah. Oh well, hashtag we march on or something.

Go on then, here's mine. Prefab Sprout - Swoon Morrissey - Vauxhall and I Roxy Music - Roxy Music (debut) Black Box Recorder - England Made Me Roddy Frame - Surf Hideously, hopelessly white-boy, I know, but then I will forever be a hideous, hopeless white boy. I do own one of those Public Enemy records as well, though. And Born To Do It by Craig David.

Fair enough. In the last few months it is interesting the level of "dirty money is so horrible" puritanism now on this forum, a puritanism which wasn't quite in evidence this time a year ago when finishing fourth (which let's all remember is winning cluck all) was the pinnacle of our ambition because it gave us possible access to, well, lots of lovely money. Strange. Still, lets see if those people might just lower themselves to the in-the-moment joy of a Wembley day out or a cup win this season, eh?
-
If, say, we'd kept all those players, with hefty old pay rises to fend off Champions League suitors - around £100k a week for each one - and then added to the squad with three more stars on £100k a week and £50m odd in transfer fees, would that have been fine, or would you still be still be beginning to depise modern day football and complaining that Sky have destroyed our game?
-
Correct, clearly no release fee. Will always look at Chambers sale as a Koeman call. I think the manager decided that for a right back in a position he was already strong, the money was plenty and he didn't want to go to war over Calum Chambers. So he took the money.
-
Get a grip you total fanny. Guess what, next week's one is about Yoshida. Oh no. It's about Frank Lampard. Oh, and theres a joke about Man U there too. Almost like they take the pi ss out of everyone, ain't it?

I like to see old stalwarts reinvent themselves as new characters on here. It's a bit like the WWF in the eighties. Aziz is a new face I am delighted to welcome to the forum. http://www.notinhalloffame.com/UserFiles/Image/article_images/WWE/The%20One%20Man%20Gang.jpg

They will vote no. Far too many sensible people who, when faced with it in the ballot box will just think - "what's the point, really?". Voting Yes is not going to magically turn Scotland into Sweden like the Nats will have people believe. Just a heck of a lot of ball-ache for things to be not much different.
