  1. Alpine spends every day between England matches ranting about "I hope we don't qualify" until such point as we drop a point in a qualifying match when he goes apesh it because it then means we might not qualify. Total mug.
  2. Not that odd as they have a long history of producing excellent young players. With loads of players that have gone on and actually achieved something. The SuperSaintsDoEverythingBest myopia is the only odd thing here.
  3. Joe Cole has achieved more than, say, off the top of my head, Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain.
  4. Maybe you should do it, with your "Saints are going to lose every game and go down" cutting edge thinking. You're just so radical and in touch with the modern game, you are.
  5. Fascinating, although we haven't had a red and white kit this season have we? You have seen it, right?
  6. Oh Dalek. What a card you are. Your little skits get funnier and funnier. This forum would be a much poorer place without your ham-fisted one-joke routines, that's for sure. Do the yo-yo stuff again!
  7. I'm a bit younger than you so I was more of an Askham man. That brilliant young team he put together in the 88 - 90 was the reason I became a Saints fan. The Askham Attack they were known as in Bellemoor school. Le Tissier was the main player. I forget the rest of them, but that was a Chairman on top of his game. I know it went sour after that but what memories we have of that early chairmanship.
  8. I'd just about settle for that this season. But I wouldn't want too many seasons like that. Completely underwhelming.
  9. Chelsea were an established top six side having already won several trophies including two European trophies in clear living memory. Man City less glittering but still undeniably a big club and far, far bigger than us. And, they just happen to be in Manchester. Neither club were West Brom suddenly signing players and winning trophies from nowhere. Quite frankly, most players will not just sign for who pays the most. Ask Newcastle in the 1990s/early 2000s when they made various attempts to sign top level players. They bid more, and offered more salary, to Wayne Rooney. Guess where Wayne went? Nice try with the 1902 line. I give that 3/10.
  10. It won't be their first priority, but signing for a big club in a big football city, rather than a medium sized club in a nondescript city would be a factor for all of those players. If you are suggesting all those players care about is money, are you suggesting that Saints are going to start outbidding City, Chelsea and Man United for players now?
  11. City and Chelsea started off life as Manchester City and Chelsea, both former League Champions and multiple cup winners home and abroad.
  12. It is stripes this season. Cortese said so. The Cult can see the stripes. Join them.
  13. 99% of those anythings result in us staying up.
  14. Last season, when Wolves went down having stayed up on the last day the previous season? It's almost like every season is kinda different, isn't it?
  15. Even when we sacked Nigel there was no mention of the aim being just staying up as it was with, say, Reading or Sunderland when they communicated their changes. The club's aim was far beyond just staying up. Might have been your aim. It was mine. It wasn't the club's.
  16. You don't need to be an optimist to think we're safe. We just are.
  17. Wigan will win all their remaining games. Villa will win all their remaining games. Fact.
  18. Lucky for you this is not a fact.
  19. Or not. We are safe.
  20. Or, on planet Earth, Wigan are going to be relegated.
  21. Fine. We finish, say, thirteenth and you can spend the whole summer whining that really honestly we were the tenth best. Honest we were. Fill your boots mush.
  22. What a load of old sh it. Well done.
  23. A-freaking-men to that.

Hilarious to see "Stevey" Cotterill sat in the stands on MOTD putting a shift in for Arry. Jobs for the boys. Wouldn't surprise me to see Arry promote himself as Director of Football and let Steve take it on next season. Young man's game this Championship lark, and besides when it all goes ti ts up, I want to make sure I aint to blame f'sure.
  25. I don't think any of the "realists" are responding to the comments from the players or the manager. That stuff is ten a penny meaningless puffery. If anyone is wetting themselves and getting in a frenzy over those comments it is the "believers". And the rest of us are having a little chuckle about it. Good effort though.
