  1. Agree we really need another attacking wideplayer or creative player, I'm still not sure on this window Gunn Is a backup keeper so doesn't really improve the first team, Armstrongs main position at Celtic was a box to bid midfielder that makes good late runs and can score goals but again we have lemina hojbjerg and romeau so seems more of a squad player unless being used in a attacking role? El younoussi could be very good but if losing tadic and Redmond and only him in I'm not sure that improves the first team much either. Vestergaard does improve us but we could still do with another cb as let's face it all of our cbs were not great last season .
  2. Bit frustrating Fulham come up and smash us on spending like that
  3. Isn't Armstrong more likely to play as a box to box centre midfielder ? Looks more like a lemina with goals to me then ultra creative. I'm not sure he goes streight into the side personally, think he could be a squad player to fight for places with lemina hojbjerg and Romeau.
  4. Fair post, to be honest I'm not against the signing of gunn per se, maybe he turns out to be the best keeper we have had since niemi certainly sounds promising. It's just I wanna see the weak links in the first team replaced and the holes plugged so if it was a choice of getting in shaqiri/sisto or gunn or another centre back along with vestergaard I'd be happier as it increases first team strength whilst gunn may not even play one premiership game next season. Anyway hopefully we are in the position where our goalkeeper isn't relied on to be player of the season this time and maybe we will still strengthen further in the positions needed
  5. Just think I'd rather the money was spent on upgrading the first team, Lille upgrading on Redmond or one of the centre backs before we start worrying about just in case backup keepers. Forster hasn't always been terrible and we got by with him as first choice for much of last three seasons so no don't really think it would be a total nightmare
  6. Not a smart move imo.. why not use the money to upgrade on Redmond or on another central defender as well as vestergaard Forster seems fine as a number two as long as he's happy to stay and fight for it
  7. If that's the case where does elyounoussi play?
  8. Think the vestergaard and el younoussi signings could be decent, Armstrong feels like more of a squad player for me but if he can add goals from midfield could be a bargain. But the position I'd like to see us work on now is another attacking wide player shaqiri, promes sisto type, otherwise if elyounoussi doesn't work out we could end up considerably worse then last season in a position we already struggled with after losing boufal and tadic.. Would prefer us to upgrade there rather then cf still think gabbiadini has potential to be better then most strikers we could attract, and I'm not really excited by alcacer don't think he had the physical attributes for the prem would be better to try get the best out of gabbiadini imo .
  9. http://www.talkceltic.net/forums/threads/virgil-van-dijk-or-jason-denayer-who-would-you-choose.134464/ Pretty complimentary view from Celtic fans here
  10. Interested in Jason denayer apperentley
  11. Rumours we are also interested in Jason denayer!
  12. I just think after watching him closely at the World Cup you give him the ball and he makes things happen, maybe was wrong to say the switz players were not on the same wavelength more that they lacked the quality to do something with his superb delivery.. but our main complaint last season was the strikers were not getting any service. , with him and mo pulling the strings our attack could be looking great again
  13. What makes you so sure? Hughes loves him,we need a boufal replacement and he needs a club. Liverpool could beat us to h if their interest is genuine, but even then shaqiri may rather have guarenteed football then be a bit part player after being at Bayern and inter
  14. Another good game from shaqiri. Ok result wasn't good but looked super creative all game and had some great deliveries. Rest of switz team wasn't on his wavelength.. really hope we go all out to get him
  15. The attacking wide players is one area I think we cannot afford to weaken though, last year we had tadic, boufal and Redmond with Simms and I guesss you could say jwp able to play there. if we lose tadic and boufal now we are down to just elyounoussi and Redmond as the main creative attackers and this was a area we were already very weak in.
  16. Bit of a shame to lose boufal and tadic whilst the worse of the culprits Redmond remains. At least boufal had skills and unpredictability in his locker, Redmond just stops and lays it off for someone else hardly ever trying to beat his man. Not really what u want from a creative player.. I just hope if boufal is off we will replace with shaqiri or one of sisto or promes now
  17. With it looking like boufal is still out of favour or going we are gonna need another else we are gonna be stuck with Redmond all season. Will also be nice to have a couple of wide attackers that can score goals something we have lacked a lot since mane left, At least shaqiri has this in his locker that he is not a weak shooter like tadic and Redmond
  18. More excited for shaqiri then elyounoussi. Has all the tools this guy, savage shooting pace and power. Think he needs a team where he can stand out and be one of the main men and he will flourish.. being a squad player at Liverpool would be Bayern and inter all over again
  19. U sure he's that quick? Doesn't look any faster then boufal from the vids?
  20. Don't think mo looks that fast tbh, seems like another tadic type with maybe a better strike on him.problem is we needed to upgrade this position without tadic leaving, so still feel like we need another signing of this kind. I'm all for shaquiri, has all the attributes we need pace, power vicious shooting , know Hughes well and with him and mo bringing creativity and goals and Redmond nowhere near the team we might start getting somewhere
  21. Think he would be a superb signing for us tbh. Pace, power has a vicious shot. Thought he looked super last night, good to see him roaming around and not just stuck out wide looks to suit him much better when he's getting involved all over the pitch
  22. Yeah but Maddison was lighting up the championship is young with plenty of potential and championship player of the year, whilst Armstrong was a bit part squad player for Celtic and is 26 with most Celtic fans thinking it's a great deal. If you can't see which one is a more exciting signing I don't know what else to say
  23. my arsenal supporting friend was waxing lyrical about wilshere last season. could not enough great things about him so wouldnt be too disapointed if we are in for him
  24. trouble is i think they sold the idea to gao that them remaining running things as it was so succesfull in the past was the way to go.. the only football brain we have is les reed
