Anybody here asked for the pm from POL board yet ? As you may be aware, we are considering sending you a Private Message (aka "conversation" with this board software) regarding a certain issue that has arisen regarding a very prominent and well respected board member in relation to certain blogs, but as there are so many of you who only browse rather than join in discussions, it will be easier for us if you can please express your interest in receiving a message by acknowledging below. Please don't ask any questions etc as you won't get a reply, all we need for this thread is your name if you want to be added to the list. Please don't PM me or any other of the admin a request as it will get lost in the melee - put your name down in a post below and we'll take it from there. Please note that we won't acknowledge that you have said yes as it will mean we do that for everyone who asks, but rest assured your name will be noted. This way, it will be easier for us to gauge how many we are sending - we don't after all want to send out 7k or whatever the total is if its not necessary. If we go ahead and send them out, it will happen between now and Sunday evening, so if by Monday you haven't received one then we decided not to send it and we will announce that on this thread.

From Old Spice on POL New PompeyAge said: ↑ Sorry Mick, I'm a bit confused now. How is it that after all this time the PFA have still not ratified the Trust bid? I thought everything was in place for the Trust to take control 'tomorrow' once the valuation was sorted in court. If the PFA are still dragging their heels after all this time and surely knowing the urgency of the situation, how much longer might they drag their heels? I believe the PFA are supportive, but there are an awful lot of players who each have to agree their own compromise deals. Most of them expected their compromise payments to start last year and they haven't yet started so we are having to talk about such things as payment of arrears, when the four years payment period starts, assignment of parachute payments etc. I can't be more specific or say anything about individual players, but it has obviously become more difficult as time has passed. The bottom line is that if the PFA don't feel able to agree our proposal, the football league won't agree, we will be liquidated and the players will get naff all. I don't believe for one second that we all can't reach agreement, but this situation is typical of what we have had to deal with. I originally commented on this thread to try to explain how complicated this has been since day one and I've probably now said more than I should Another obstacle presents itself !!

More from POL From the Trust site The Pompey Supporters' Trust deal to buy Portsmouth Football Club remains firmly on track. It is now three weeks since the Trust was given 'preferred bidder' status by administrator PKF, but although little has emerged about the process since, PST spokesperson Colin Farmery has assured fans things are progressing smoothly. 'It has been a very busy time for us all as there has been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes towards concluding the deal,' he said. 'The delicate nature of the negotiations should not be underestimated, which has required detailed scrutiny from our legal and accountancy teams. 'We will be asking fans to commit their money to the biggest share offer ever of its type and as a result we recognise we need to ensure the deal is as water-tight as possible, not only for investors but also for the long-term future of the club 'We are now in the final stages of negotiating a deal which has never been done before, which obviously takes time as it is a "first". 'We'd like to give our thanks to everyone for their support and patience. It has been a tough few weeks for the football club on the pitch, so we are hoping for some very good news off the pitch shortly.’ Farmery explained some of the work which had been taking place, including the finalising of both the shareholders' agreement and the share prospectus. 'These two documents are vitally important, as they lay out the terms of our offer and the relationships between all the stakeholders in them. We have been working closely with Supporters' Direct on drafting them. 'As negotiations have progressed the contents have inevitably changed, but we feel we are now very close to having a final draft ready for distribution. 'We look forward to being able to put forward our proposals in the very near future and we are all frustrated by the fact we haven't been able to say much publicly lately. 'As a Trust we are very conscious of the fact we need to be as transparent as possible, especially after all that has gone on at our club in recent years,' he added. The Trust aims to create the biggest community club in Britain, backed by around 2000 fans who have pledged almost £2m, partnering with a number of individual investors. From POL The meeting took the form of an update from the Pompey Supporters Trust, with no fixed agenda set for the meeting. The below cover the points raised. •It is acknowledged that, for obvious reasons, the Trust only able to make limited information publically available due to the ongoing discussions as regards club ownership. •The Trust's aim for the future is to create transparancy at the club but cannot, unfortunately, be truly transparent at the moment during this acquisition phase •Ashley then gave an account of events over the last few weeks •Four weeks ago, the Trust were confident of being named the preferred bidder for the club •Unfortunately, as has been mentioned in various public media, risk managers at PKF did an about turn and recommended Portpin to the Football League. •Following this, there was a concerted effort to make the football league aware of all facts before a judgement was made, and the Football League read and took notes of the facts and articles put forward by the likes of Mike Hall and Sue Maskell. •Following this, the Football League put questions to Portpin, some of which they were either unable to answer or did not answer in full. •The Football League then went back to PKF and said that any deal with Portpin would take time, and the circumstances around discussion with Portpin made things very difficult. PKF then went back to the Trust with a renewed interest in talking to them as regards a deal. •One sticking point, as is publically known, is the situation around the charge on the ground. PKF wanted to do a deal with the Trust before any court case regarding the ground happened. The Trust refused this due to not wanting to risk paying any amount for the ground they were not happy with, they would prefer all amounts to be known pre-deal. •The Presidents are underwriting the majority of legal fees, although the Trust are also underwriting a proportion. •The Trust are meeting PKF once again early next week, w/b 5 November. A deal will not be done unless the Trust are confident that the Club would survive financially both in the short and long term, and that all demands/requests made by the Trust, as a result, are met. •Taking on the club will require a lot of hard work, and a lot of work as regards discussions and getting a deal in place will take place over the next week. •The share prospectus will, hopefully, be available next week. Full agreement on the figures is needed before circulation. •The timeline for taking over the club depends on any court case brought by Portpin as regards their charge on the ground. It is looking likely that any case would happen in December, although a judgement would be made there and then. The case would be in two parts. 1) PKF go to the court and serve notice that they wish to sell Fratton Park for a set amount, which Portpin could challenge, 2) The court is reconvened later so the judge on the valuation of the ground. The latter part would happen in December time at current timeframes. •The Trust have instructed their QC, and are in possession of independent valuations of Fratton Park. The Trust lawyers believe there is a very good chance of obtaining the valuation which the Trust want. •As regards player settlements, a couple have still to be fully agreed, but not enough discrepancy to affect any bid. Money for players would be balanced by remaining parachute payments. •No loans are involved as regards the money put in by the Presidents, it is all their own money. •All but one of the Presidents are Pompey fans, with the other being a keen football fan. As well as those publicised, other fans have put in just as much money. •The Trust have had an informal chat with Michael Appleton, and explained what the Trust are trying to do. •Enquiries as regards how to pledge money are still coming in. •It is acknowledged that, at Day One, the Trust would not own Fratton Park if they take over, with Stuart Robinson taking over Fratton Park initially. However, the Trust will have a period of exclusivity to buy the ground. To be clear for those with any concerns, any planning application to build on the land around the ground would have to be approved by Portsmouth City Council, with any build having to be beneficial to the football club. To be aware, this is not a concern from the Trust, this was in answer to a question put to them at this meeting. •Protection will be in place as regards selling of club shares, so an 'aggressive takeover' would not be possible. •The Trust would always hope to have at least 51% of the voting share of the Board, although 25% would be the minimum required to veto some decisions (some decisions would require a 75% majority, some a 90% majority).

I like it a lot , but one thing I noticed during the villa game is that it is quite a long way behind the actual game. I had Twitter running at the same time and the twitter updates were telling me about the goals and penalty a good minute before big Adam and whispering Dave told me !! Was quite bizarre !!
