This is one thread where I side with CB Fry. Amazing, as I normally find his posts annoying. I'd prefer to await any possible appeal process, but as it stands Evans hasn't shown any remorse, and hasn't accepted he has done any wrong. Why he was released under licence I'm not sure as I thought a degree of remorse and lack of danger to the public was one of the conditions. He may, sober as he was, have thought that there was some implicit consent given (although the jury - who unlike us heard all the evidence and assessed the witnesses - thought otherwise) but he doesn't seem to acknowledge the distress caused to the victim. If anybody has been the victim of mob rule it is her. He may have genuinely misjudged a situation but there is no sign even that he accepts that. People who work with sex offenders say that getting them to accept their misdeeds is often an issue, and until they do there is no way forward.

I'm from Windows and I'm calling to fix your computer

Touch wood I've hardly had one since moving in about 18 months ago, although there was a suspicious one today which had a delay and sounded like an automated recording or call centre, which I cut off after a second. I give out my number as little as possible, and when I tried to declare online that I didn't have a TV I gave up as they wanted name, number and/or email. S*d that, I wouldn't trust Capita an inch. -
I notice that they didn't have a game today. Can't be helping their cash flow...
-
We obviously need a er...
-
Tell me about it! But have you got a spare ticket?!
-
It was a rumour spread about by Turkish.... (Came back in 2013).
-
S*d it! Just learned that my game tomorrow has been called off - presumably with a waterlogged pitch. Bloomin' inevitable, but didn't want to risk a tenner by buying a ticket I couldn't use. If anyone has a single spare ticket I'd be pleased to save _you_ that tenner! Thanks.
-
I'll sign this. What's the odds that my game tomorrow will be off, given today's rain in the south. If saintmonkey's pitch is the one on the chalk down he'll be OK!

Just got home via various hostelries and my village sailing club: - I didn't want the buzz to finish. I'm playing Sunday, drat it, so off for a run tomorrow and I'll definitely wear my Saints top (in a PO area)...

OI! What's so funny about my name? Just hope that I use my tin whistle on you and not my flute! When I was younger I rather thought about the trumpet, but Alison Balsom had first choice... I'm sure if you cringe enough I could protect you, but I might put on me boots and insist you clean the house. (Don't laugh guys, it works for a friend of mine..).

2016 - we've hit the future... and it's still funny!

Oi, I'll have you know we often play on pitches like that in the bottom divisions of women's football; at the end of the season...

I was just about to write a complaint about that, but you've admitted it! I like the "Discover the Most..." and Jobs Today section too.

Good summary by Kraken. I've never skied Bulgaria or Andorra and only a few resorts in Austria but with the top resorts in France you'd be paying for gorgeous skiing you wouldn't appreciate as a beginner. You could try one of their smaller resorts like Lansvillard in the Maurienne Valley where there is a surprising amount of skiing (although not the snow year I went!). You don't need to spend a lot on clothing although you're a bit late for the Lidl/Aldi special offers unless the repeat them: decent gear and they sell it in the demanding German market. TX-Maxx also have occasional good offers and as mentioned above, Decathlon. I was a season ticket holder for 7 years but still didn't spend much on clothing. My avalanche transceiver cost more.. As for preparation, apart from exercises it is useful as a beginner to get some experience on dry slopes. No point learning how to side step or even put on your skis 1000 kilometers away on holiday when you can learn beforehand. You'll enjoy it wherever you go!

I've got a helmet but have never worn it, although I would if I went on serious guided off-piste or in the park. Only ever hit my head once, in moguls, in 30 years of skiing, and I avoid it when it's busy when the true danger arises: collisions. I find helmets affect my perception of distance and give me a false sense of security: always wear them horse-riding, sometimes cycling and never walking..

Not true: definitely necessary in Italian mountain areas where it shows the blue sign of a tyre with chains. I never used my chains but them or snow tyres compulsory from November 15th in the Aosta Valley ay least.

You confuse Saintsweb with business?

Anybody on here is probably going to be ferociously biaised and already a decent skier so take my recommendation for Pila with a pinch of salt: decent nursery slope at Grimod though, the resort bars and the city below for eating and (largely low key) night life.

From what I've seen of the webcams of my old haunts in the Italian Western Alps they desperately need it, hope it gets that far - sometimes that area gets the wet air up from the Mediterranean - but this year the issue seems to have been temperatures so they couldn't even make artificial snow. I hope to go out there in January: jump in the car and go, snow tyres on already and just need to find a few places to stay so the texts will start going out soon! Just checked the webcams: it's snowed a bit 20cm today at Pila, so looking up..

..but, but, Liverpool aren't even shown in the table above. To save us all some effort and give us a few LOLs could you show a bit more of the table..

I'd just like to point out that it's all over between Turks and me; threats of making him watch me play football worked! I'd like to nominate Bletch for Biggest Techy Nerd in the Services of Football for his word cloud work. I know MLG and Granty will be disappointed but their day will come.. Incidentally, I missed out on Bletch chatting up CB Fry. That's personally not what I'd like to do to CB, but I'm intrigued as to what happened..

Yep. I'll go an borrow my mum's new ipad after she's finished watching eastenders. Presumably if I clear my cache I can vote again using this machine too?

I think you misheard a quote from the Champagne Chairman Ian: "Things could get very messy"...
