  1. It’s probably more the fact that last time we went down we went bust and we have a squad on massive contracts and an owner who had to borrow the money to buy the club.
  2. No reason why we can't pay in instalments just like Liverpool are for us so wont make any difference.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXyPUJ4w1V8
  4. A must win game, so I expect we will try and grind out a draw, and fail.
  5. To be fair the club is a different animal today compared to the MLT days. Having ****-head chairman spouting bull**** pipe-dreams about Champions League etc hasn't helped though.
  6. A load of ********, you are re-writing history, there were a handful chanting at the back of the Northam and a little bit of booing last season - a million miles from being toxic. The board sacked Puel because the football was dull and ST sales were ****e, Les Reed ****ed up because he thought the squad was better than it was so failed to strengthen enough as well as making a poor change of manager.
  7. Another club acts decisively whilst we sleepwalk into the Championship.
  8. This is the sort of game we need to win to stay up, a draw will be a **** result.
  9. Hopefully they will still sack him.
  10. Why does it matter when we get the money, the players we buy we can pay in instalments so there is no reason why we can’t spend all 70 this window.
  11. It is ****ing depressing watching half our old team playing in this knowing we’re probably be in the Championship next year.
  12. ****
  13. It’s ****ing nuts that we are in this situation, reminds me of when Glen Roeder took West Ham down. A massively underperforming squad and manager staying in a job defying all logic.
  14. Career ending injury please.
  15. I disagree, he want to get on the plane to Russia so will be hungry to bang in a few goals and get noticed. If he came he would give the whole team and fan base a lift.
  16. Kat took her time but I think it's fair to say the death of Marcus meant that inevitably the funding would stop so I agree with Fitzhugh that it was the pivotal moment. What would have happened if Marcus and Cortese were still here, who knows. They were businessmen so may have just flogged us to the Chinese anyway.
  17. Dunno, but compared to Liverpool we are a small club, no point pretending otherwise.
  18. I expect he was trying reduce the pressure on the manager by lowering expectations of a fan base that has been fed pipe dreams by Cortese for years.
  19. But if admitting that sacking Puel and hiring Pelligrino were two massive mistakes (which cost their new boss money) means they get sacked then they might as well just risk taking us down anyway because for them the end result is the same - being sacked. Maybe blaming VVD and hoping Pello pulls of a miracle is the only way they keep their jobs?
  20. I think the main difference may be that in Cortese and Marcus you had an owner and CEO who had the same vision and a relationship based on 100% trust and honesty. Reading between the lines I get the impression that the relationship between Kreuger/Reed and the owners is flakey to say the least. Sacking Puel and hiring Pelligrino were obviously two mistakes - I expect Krueger and Reed know that admitting that and asking their new boss for 'X' amount of millions to sort it out will mean they are out of a job. So as far as Krueger and Reed are concerned they might as well just carry on as we are and just hope we don't go down.
  21. You mean, they were prepared in advance? What a bizarre concept.
  22. As long as we don't go bust like last time.
  23. Just because the team is not functioning doesn't mean the whole squad are always underperforming -if you don't have the right qualities in the right places it doesn't matter if they all perform to their best. If we are to persist with the 4-2-3-1 formation IMO we need a Pelle or Lambert type to lead the attack - at the moment we don't have any striker in that mould. We have Long (can't score), Austin (can't play) and Gabbiadini (can't be arsed) - none of these are suited to the lone striker role even at their best. Also, ideally, a decent squad has two players for every position which means we should have 6 to play the attacking midfield roles - at the moment we have Redmond, Tadic, Boufal and Davis. I don't see JWP as that sort of player so we are short in strength in depth in those roles which is why they've been flogged to death/rotated to try and find the right formular. A few good signings in key positions could transform the team IMO.
  24. A loan move for Walcott would make the most sense.
  25. The support from the whole Kingsland is **** even when it’s full so a few nobbers leaving early is not exactly going to effect the noise levels.
