I like a good old panic buy. I would put this guy on a heavily incentivised contract. 100k bonus per clean sheet, 200k per win, 500k per Wembley win, plus an extra 50k if he can hospitalise Zlatan and stay on the pitch.

So the Bexit apocalyptic crash of the economy is now a medium-term drag on growth. Glad the experts have cleared that one up. Wonder what it will be next week.

IMO Reed has just fallen into the same trap as Rupert Lowe in that he has started believing his own hype. All the masturbatory newspaper articles after every good run strike scary similarities. I expect Reed was creaming himself at the thought of a youngster seamlessly filling Fontes shoes and then being flogged for a massive profit in the summer so he can write another piece in the Mail about our magical black box and amazing set up. I expect he has a very good centre back lined up who fits his criteria (young, relatively cheap looking for a stepping stone club) who will be available in the summer who we can flog next year and make a profit. That's fine if we were safe from relegation and had nothing to play for but Reed believing his own "southampton Way" bull**** has probably cost us a chance of silverware and may cost us our Premier League status. Sometimes in football you just have to bite the bullet and stump up the cash. We needed a centre back desperately - that was the bottom line.

No but it's the reason we've stopped getting results.
-
Would any manager be able to stop us losing with our only CB choice being Yoshida, Stephens and Gardos? Reed should be sacked if anyone.
-
Flogging Fonte and not replacing him could cost us our Premier League place, well done Reed.
-
The system if fine, whatever they do some people will moan.

**** me what a mess. It wouldn't be such an issue if we had goals in the side but our team this year has all been about the defence. It would be criminal if we get sucked into a relegation fight, we had half a season to find a replacement for Fonte. We are one game away from our first major trophy in a generation and Reed might have ****ed it all up.

Transfer Deadline Day Jan 2017 Edition

What a ****ing ridiculous risk to take. We knew Fonte wanted out all season, we should have had his replacement in the first week of January. Reed is probably wetting his pants at the thought of a youngster taking the field at Wembley. Let's hope it pays off and doesn't cost us our Premier League place as well as a chance for silverware. -

Sometimes you just have to take a punt. We have our best chance in a generation of winning a major trophy, I think it would be scandalous if we blow it for the sake of sticking dogmatically to a transfer policy. -

I can't believe we are not going to replace Fonte. Even with Virgil fit we were short of CBs, imagine how ****ed we will be if Yoshida picks up a knock. -
He's just doing what he said he would before being elected, it's called democracy. I can see why he's not popular with some though, Brexit showed us all how some people only believe in the will of the people if it goes the way they want. All this pathetic protesting by the vocal minority is just going to make Trump more popular among everyone else.

I don't agree with his policy on immigration but that's no reason for all this over-reaction over his visit. I don't agree with many policies of many other countries but that's no reason not to have their heads of state visit. In fact the opposite is true, the more people talk the better. All this fuss is just some left wing anti Trump nobheads using any excuse to knock him. Who the USA let in their country is completely up to them and makes no difference to me whatsoever. Also ****ing America off is the very last thing we need to do with Brexit coming up.

Highlights the lack of strength in depth of our squad. Need a CB and CF before the end of the window.

Saints Reserves v Arsenal Reserves - FA Cup Match Thread
aintforever replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
True, but so has your opponent. If they had the choice of a few days rest they would take it. I don't get why we are prioritising the league though, we won't qualify for Europe and it's unlikely we will go down. I guess with the money at stake, clubs nowadays don't want to take any risk at all of relegation. -

True. Reed needs to get off his ass and sign a centre back because if Yoshida picks up a knock we will end up with these two against Utd at Wembley. -

Probably wouldn't have let the second through his legs. -

I'd rather rest players against Swansea, nothing is going to happen in the league this season. -

What is the point in resting the goalkeeper? They just stand there all game, a keeper could play a game every day for a month and be fine. -

It's a big old ground, there will be plenty left for members with 5+ IMO.

I was offered two at £370 each. **** that, no way am I spending more than a ton on a game of football.

Will buying tickets for upcoming games help?

Obvious - that's a laugh. That floppy-haired goofy **** is just trying to deflect attention from the fact that his Liverpool side are a pile a ****e. It's one of those ones that may technically have been handball but very few refs would have given it because his arm was in a natural position and it would be near on impossible for the ref to see in real time wether it was his shoulder or arm that made contact.

His tactics in the semi final games have been flawless.
