  1. God no.
  2. First 45mins: 21:55 Attempt missed. Rickie Lambert (Liverpool) header from the centre of the box is just a bit too high following a corner. 29:03 Foul by Rickie Lambert (Liverpool). 34:51 Foul by Rickie Lambert (Liverpool). Living the dream.
  3. That sort of thing I agree with, might as well use our warships for something other than sitting around in pompey docks getting rusty. Will be interesting to see how much we spend helping combat Ebola compared to chasing shepherds around Afganistan shooting off millions of pounds in military hardware.
  4. Most countries in the world just leave the fighting to others, there is no reason why we should be different. WW2 is hardly relevant to today's world, it's 2014 FFS.
  5. Definitely leave all the fighting to others.
  6. We can be neutral and seldom commit our forces to oversees campaigns as well. Problem is something like Afganistan happens and we send in our forces because we have the capability, and because we get involved we have to keep spending so much. Then the next 'Afgan' happens and we send them in again. It's a vicious circle. Stay the **** out, spend half as much.
  7. Italy 1.7% Japan 1% Spain 0.85% Holland 1.3% Switzerland 0.7% Ireland 0.56%
  8. According to Wikipedia only the US, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and maybe France spend more than us. That's a lot of countries who spend less.
  9. We spend too much on the military anyway, stop getting involved in pointless wars and reduce it further IMO.
  10. 9000 on more than £100k pa seems a lot to me, especially considering our country functioned perfectly well before the EU became so big. I'm not against immigration but it needs to be controlled, the fact that loads are coming in from China etc means we should let less in from the EU in my opinion. In any case, there is no reason why we shouldn't have a referendum so we can decide for ourselves. There is no motivation for the big parties to get their noses out the trough and there is no motivation for the Euro MPs to vote themselves out of a job.
  11. The whole EU just seems like more pigs with their noses in the trough for every little gain. That's why the traditional main parties have let it grow so big - more jobs for the boys with expenses and tax breaks thrown in. The three main parties only have themselves to blame for UKIP's rise, all have promised referendums but failed to bother to consult the population. People see their wages pushed downwards and the wait for their GP get longer because of immigration and have been utterly powerless to do anything about it whilst the 3 main parties ignore them and serve their own interests - that's why it is undemocratic. That's why UKIP are an attractive option.
  12. If we want him it makes sense to sign him permanently ASAP.
  13. El Crapio
  14. I don't usually go on other teams forums but reading that link is funny. That Riddle bloke is obviously an architect working on the Tescos project, it's funny watching him desperately try and sell the idea of being penned in forever by a massive Tescos.
  15. I will probably vote UKIP if it appears they are best placed to compete with the Tories in my area. Sadly where I live the current voting system means if I vote for what I believed in I had might as well roll my ballot paper up and shove it up my arse. "Vote Nigel wake up with Ed" - that would be OK with me.
  16. I see they've sussed out his lack of plan B already: "Poch has, again consistently, failed to make any tactical change of note. His subsitutions are actually good, but often too late. Further no tactical change ensues. At Southampton he had an unenviable record of never winning a game from a losing position, nothing has changed here."
  17. Finishing above Everton, Spurs and Liverpool looks achievable. I doubt we will be anywhere near Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Man Utd though. We will have a clearer idea once we have had a few hard games, the fixture list has been kind. The good thing is we have the points on the board so can go into those games high on confidence and without any pressure.
  18. Finishing 8th with us is not really looking like much of an achievement anymore. I won't give Poch much time if things carry on like they are.
  19. Northam is still much better, can't even hear Itchen most of the time.
  20. So he can't go and watch football because of his political viewpoint? Bizarre
  21. Agree with this
  22. Play the strongest team possible, days out at Wembley and silverware is what it's all about.
  23. To be fair, Koeman has got better players. who know what we would be like if we still had sh!t like Lallana, Lambert and Lovren in the side.
  24. I don't think we will get a better chance because apart from City and Chelsea everyone looks beatable. BUT we have had easy fixtures, we will have a better idea of our chances in January. Between the 30th Nov and 10th of Jan we play Man Utd twice, Arsenal twice, Man City, Chelsea and Everton. So far we've had two hard games Liverpool and Spurs - and lost both.
  25. Some people don't seem to understand what a hypothetical question is. Of course we want to win both. Things are looking good in the league but fact is we won't finish top 4 and it's unlikely that we will be top 6 come May so a cup win would be great.
