If we go South American again, then perhaps Gerardo Martino will be ready after his stint in Spain.

FC Midtjylland 1 Saints 0 - Post Match reaction
Doctoroncall replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
I'm worried about that now, although I'm sure things will get better. Big expectations on Clasie's shoulders to help the midfield. Why can't we at least defend and be well organised? I thought that was the purpose of the playing philosophy regardless of age group, all playing the same way easy to move up, players now what they should do and their playing partner. Something isn't quite right. -
Worried, they seem too well organised for us. Perhaps we can take a leaf out of their book and score from a set piece and sit back.
-
He'll need plenty of game time under his belt as I think he'll play a lot more next season when the next batch of Saint leavers go (i.e Wanyama). It will be interesting to see where Clasie will play as a few have put him in front of a DM pairing... will he be the transition player with his accurate passing turning defence into attack?

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 FC Midtjylland
Doctoroncall replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It is a shame we cannot hang on to players so I'd prefer to get more money out of the buying club as the damage to repair the team is greater for us. We get top prices, but I think we need top top prices, after all they can afford it. -
No, it's relative velocity which is both the same for you and the train (i.e the same force). If the train was accelerating and you jumped would you land at the same place?

An incidental piece of information, Informed consent forms are written so that a twelve year old can understand them unlike Insurance policies. So assuming he's older than twelve, he'll know what he's getting in to! Nice painting, perhaps frame a small piece and leave it as a reminder.

Yes, agree with the assessment. The past seasons it seemed the attitude was all wrong and they didn't know why they were struggling, as if turning up was good enough. This season it seems they have got some kind of plan to get promoted and are deservedly favourites to go up with the squad and manager they have. We'll just have to see if they can cope with the pressure that expectation of promotion can generate, after all, it took Bradford a while to get promoted with their greater resources than the rest of Division Four.

Nice one Mr Crouch. Does he still attend games? He used to have a box, not sure now.

Sky reporting Fonte in talks with Villa
Doctoroncall replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Villa have been cutting back on wages substantially, so it wouldn't be much of a pay day. Perhaps it was to flag his availability to other teams that could pay more? Also , he'll leave his Portuguese mate behind that he was influential in turning into a Saint. It doesn't sound right to me. -
The season before... then we got Osvaldo!

Neil Allen isn't impressed with European football... anymore. Table tennis is king!

Doctoroncall replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
It seems there is no buy clause associated with the loan deal. -
Some video news... here of the competition.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
Doctoroncall replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
Like he usually does, he misses things, like Vegard Forren. I wouldn't hazard a guess why he failed to mention him, there are too many reasons to choose from. -
Yep, it's a question of whether they have managed to line everything up this season, with the right Manager, combination of players in the squad and they don't have a convoluted training schedule due to their facilities (there is nothing worse for a player if it's not easy to get to, from and the facilities are sh!t). They failed the past two seasons, skirting with relegation, then a lower half finish. Has Cook bought well for them for the third season in League two? We will see, there are also some reasonable sides that will be pushing for promotion as well.
-
Football league FFP rules will limited what percentage the total of wages are to turnover. League two is set at 55% so they will have to go some to get into trouble, which is possible considering the shed they play in needs to be kept in good repair (safety and capacity) and having training facilities available. Turnover definition Under the SCMP rules, the definition of 'Turnover' is particularly important as Turnover is used to determine the maximum wage-spend. Within a traditional accounting perspective, there are usually only three elements of turnover: Match-day Income Commercial Income (such as sponsorship) TV revenue (and any 'merit payments' based on league position) However the Football League use a is broader definition of Turnover. Crucially, the FL Turnover figure includes donations from the owners to the club and injections of equity. Loans from club owners are understandably not included in the Turnover figure as these would result in growing club debts. In League 1 and League 2, a wealthy owner can therefore fund the club spending in a way that is not permitted in other divisions.

Top 4 Chelsea Arsenal Man City Man Utd Saints 7th Bottom 3 Bournemouth Leicester Watford

I agree if we could play in the Eredivisie but in the Premier League I think 7th is doable.

Well, they certainly are extolling their chances for promotion as well as being the club to be at for any league player. Let's hope the pressure doesn't get to them and they fail to gain promotion. That would be awful.

It's about getting the right player in the building at the right time for the right price... Correct?
