Sadly, the latter option still seems like an upgrade...

To an extent I'd agree that our recruitment hasn't been spot on in the last couple of years but a competent manager will see one of their strengths will be matching up against an area where we are weaker and look to restrict their effectiveness by cutting off the supply line.

Most significant impacts so far are the lobbed through ball vs West Brom for Tadic to score & injuring Yoshida. Needs a goal or two now to crack on. -
And when he gets injured Gardos will step into the breach...

For those who were there yesterday, how did Redmond get on? Has his spell out of the side done him some good?

Mark Dennis too

I'm actually at the point of wondering whether there's a contractual reason we won't sack MP, say in the first year of his contract (unless for disciplinary reasons). That the board have bought into their own hype so much, a season flirting dangerously with relegation could never be considered. And now we're left with no alternative but to back a man who is so clearly not up to the job it's untrue.

Clear proof the club does follow this forum then...

Could it be said we've got worse since Eric Black left?

Ralph: "So, 2018 is the year of the dog? What was last year?" Kat (Under her breath): 'The year of the mug..."

Gao: "Haha! Look at those useless w*nkers in the red & white shirts wth the hapless tw*t in charge. What mug owns them?" Nelly/Ralf: "Errrr..."

Swearing at SMS .... tolerable or offensive ?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
As a family stand resident these days, you can clearly hear most chants. I'll never forget when 'Arry was in the opposition dugout & our crowd were accusing him of being a keen proponent of the art of self pleasure and my then 9 year old son looked at me and said "Daddy, now i know what Harry Redknapp is...". -

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11083216.Which_Saints_starlet_has_been_tipped_to_be_the_next_Zlatan_Ibrahimovic_/ He'll stay because we know he's going to be the new Zlatan. And once Redmond kicks on as the next Thierry Henry, we'll have the best strike force in the league, to go with the best midfield... -
I swear there was a moment in the 2nd half of the Brighton game where the ref waved play on and then did so again a couple of seconds later because our play was so slow, he thought we'd stopped.

From Pellegrino's preview on the OS. And here was I thinking it was a chance to resuscitate this clusterf**k of a season...
-
I also think Hughes won't be scared to put a rocket up the backsides of any of our players he feels are coasting and not putting in the required effort.

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/southampton/story/3368647/southampton-priced-out-of-january-transfer-deals-mauricio-pellegrino?ex_cid=fw_affid18 Reading this, it doesn't sound like Pellegrino himself is expecting to be fired any time soon!

Mauricio Pellegrino Appreciation Thread
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
For me, partly true but I feel at least Branfoot had a system & a plan but I'm not sure Pellegrino does. Branfoot's plan was unpalatable, dour hoofball, which didn't suit our more talented players, but at least it was a plan. -

Thank you Mauricio for making the Branfoot years seem not quite as bad I'd previously thought. Thanks also for guaranteeing us 8 more league games next season & more 3pm Saturday kick offs, too. -
Before City twist the knife b trouncing an already relegated side at home?

Is this actually a dig at Les? Whilst I seriously question his managerial capabilities, this sounds like he's as frustrated as us about the lethargic way we tried to get our deals done.

Felt for him last night. One of the few who married effort & ability last night. Would be a more inspirational choice than Davis or Yoshi, definitely.
