  1. It was chucking it down! I was surprised that the game went ahead after the amount of rain we drove through on the way to the ground. That clearly would have effected the number of "walk ups".
  2. Went to watch it last night with the GF. Though it was excellent, plot kept me gripped till the end.
  3. The gothic cavern type gig venue was the Prinzenbar in St Pauli. If you like live music it would be worth a visit. http://www.prinzenbar.net/
  4. This is probably my second best in my opinion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYAmtVl1UP8&feature=related
  5. Listen Up, was listening to this today, awesome song.
  6. Marseille had their Fanni sent off in the Champs League tonight.
  7. Went on a stag do there a few months ago, had a great time. The Reeperbahn is seedy, but there are some good bars around if you look closely enough. We found a great little rock bar playing live music each night. I'll try and remember the name of the bar and post later if I do. Also went to a live gig in an undergound Gothic cavern type place. Unfortunatley I had had a few beers and can't remember the name of that place either. Will ask some of the guys I went with and post again. Some great food and beer too, kebabs are taken to a whole new level and become a respectable meal in some of the turkish diners. I would avoid the weird boiled white german sausages though. The "Munchen Beerhaus" selling white or dark beer in 1ltr glasses served by busty barmaids in traditional dress was also a highlight.
  8. I was in a small guest house in Tahiti. I was travelling with two mates and we were the only westerners there. The owner of the guest house came down and put the TV on, Tahitian national TV was just filming a lap-top on a news caster's desk that was showing the CNN website. We did could not understand what the news readers were saying and it was not for another week or so that we got to hear the full story when we got to the English Speaking Cook Islands. Before we got news from back in the UK there was rumours amongst other travellers that there was going to be a war between China and the USA!!! We were pretty scared, but happy to be on a small island in the middle of the Pacific and away from it all.
  9. More problems now, drink driving "issues" this time.

    Gtp

Yep, one thing to note is that the GTP is not recognised everywhere. Had a friend that did it, worked as a teacher very sucessfully here in England for several years, moved to Australia and the GTP is not recognised there, hence the end of his teaching career.
  11. Fox and Cork were our weakest players. For some reason they seemed to both be playing 10 yards in from the touch line giving the forest wingers room to beat them done the outside. I hope Harding and Richardson (or Butterfield) are back for the Brum game. I want Cork back in CM too.

    Jos the Boss

I felt that he did OK today. He certainly had a better game than Fox and Cork, who both played too narrow and got caught out on numerous occasions. Although I do feel sorry for Martin who has impressed me each time I've seen him play, so I wouldn't have minded seeing him start in today's game.

    Gtp

I did the GTP, through Reading University. I had a placement at a school in Emsworth. I thought it was a pretty good course and the on the job training really helped, but a lot depends upon how good your mentor is. (I was very lucky to have a good mentor and a well behaved class to work with). I would recommend the GTP especially (if like I did) you must have an income whilst you study. Unfortunately I wanted to teach secondary Maths, but I wasn't allowed to do this as my degree was in Science. I would have do a year's unpaid training before the GTP to convert if I wanted to do Maths, I had no money to support myself at the time so in the end I did key stage 2 primary instead (Year 6). There is a lot of hard work in your first year with your log book, lesson planning and marking. I did find it tough going at times. In the end I didn't feel teaching was right for me and I now work in Environmental Health, but that had nothing to do with the GTP course.
  14. Does anyone believe that McClaren is going to be the manager that takes under-funded Forest back up to the prem and back to their glory days? I certainly don't. I think he will be a flop and will be sacked by the end of the season. He clearly does not rate the squad he currently has at his disposal. Hopefully he is correct about his players and we take advantage of that. Come on Saints, lets get three points tomorrow.
  15. As I mentioned on the footballers wages fred.... If we drop the rate to 40%, that will be £420,000.00 per year taken away from taxes for hospitals and schools and into Joey Barton's pocket. This tax rate does not seem to be putting of the world's highest earning football talent wanting to work here, where is the evidence that it is putting off other high earners from other sectors?
  16. And to think we might be scrapping the 50% tax band. Do we really believe that people like footballers and others on similarly obscene salaries need more disposable income!!!!!
  17. Or perhaps everyone should respect the laws of the land, with those that choose not to, punished appropriately. No one should be above the country's laws and be able to get away with flouting them, regardless of race or ethnicity (or if they are currently in higher education).
  18. I completely agree...oh wait a minute there is already a law against this sort of behaviour, The Environmental Protection Act 1990. Given reliable evidence of statutory nuisance (noise, smell etc) notice would be served against the students and the could face further legal action if the notice was breached. They would probably also be in breach of their tennancy agreement and their landlord would have every right to evict them. If the landlord didn't care about the problems his tenants caused and allowed sucessive set of tenants to cause similar problems, notices may also be served aagoints the landlord. So if laws do already exist to control students, you leave me confused about the point you were trying to make.
  19. Wishing Dan a full and speedy recovery. Hope to see him back playing at SMS as soon as possible.
  20. He obviously hasn't had the best of times at Celtic, but I'm willing to let him have a fresh start here. Lets hope he rediscovers the form that led to Celtic paying £2m for him in the first place. He is exactly what I felt our squad was needing: a tall left footed CB.
  21. Judging by the lack of posts on this thread, I don't suppose that we'll be taking many fans to this one. Tickets are only £15, so I'm considering it. Anyone else?
  22. Good looking cast. I'll be watching it when it's released.
  23. Great 2nd half, we will do fine this year if we play like that more often than not. Schmichael was the only reason we didn't get something from the game. Thought Harding has got more stick than he deserves from some of the posts above. Considering how much Leicester spent assembling that team, it was great to see us ripping them to pieces for the whole 2nd half. Shooting practice for most of the team this week please Mr Adkins!
  24. Wow this Con-dem gov must be very weak indeed if the opposition party are in control of the Police and Southampton Football club!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so disgusted by this I'm going to write to the Daily Mail about it.
