"Strikes in injury-time against Stevenage, Carlisle and Exeter have agonisingly deprived them of triumphs. Overall, that is now 13 goals conceded in the final 10 minutes of fixtures during the campaign". Looks like the Training Day Fry Ups are working out well then ;-)

Can Southampton become a force in the premier league?
ericofarabia replied to Soulful Odin's topic in The Saints
Well according to an article on The UI site we are the 3rd most successful team in 2016 so far. That's a start isn't it? http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/42548/saints-3rd-best-team-in-premier-league-in-2016 -
Mush's showin pashun ain't it!! As said earlier, those of us of a certain age were well and truly spoilt rotten with the class of players, performances and success we had under his managership.

Spurs Away - Moved for TV - Sunday 8th May 1.30pm
ericofarabia replied to Mattio's topic in The Saints
Ooohh .... suits me sir!! Now I won't have to be getting up for work at 0430 the next day. Shame for all those travelling up, denied a good day out boozing in the smoke and into the evening post match. -
Exactly my reaction as well. Sad news indeed.

It seems to me all this meltdown (refs decisions aside) at losing away to the team that sits 7 points clear at the top, have only lost once at home all season, on a good run of unbeaten games and clean sheets, is because that team is Leicester City and not say Man City, Man U or Chelsea had they been in the same position. Now if we feck up against Newcastle next week, that would be a completely different kettle of fish!!

The whole handball situation is farcical. It should be the same as fouls, whereby probably up to 70 - 80% of fouls are not intentional, a geniuine attempt to get the ball has been made, but an ADVANTAGE has been gained by the attempted tackle. Same thing with Handballs, many are not intentional but was advantage gained? In both situations today undoubtably YES. If the 1st one hadn't hit the arm square on but continued towards the moving player, who is to say where the ball would have gone. Glanced off his back into the goal, off his hip into the goal? A split second either side as his momentum took him forwards and a goal is likely. I'm pretty sure he adjusted his arm to deflect the ball downwards though. The stupid rule of denying a goal meaning a RED means Refs are tending to be lenient to "accidental" handballs, to avoid a harsh sending off. Anywhere else on the pitch the ref would have given a free kick straight away both times. 2nd one Advantage most certainly gained. End off. Moot point if we'd scored either of course!!

Southampton to win away to the league leaders (and hopefully Champions!!) ... stranger things have happened when we've played against them!! I'll gloss over Peter Shilton scoring at The Dell, but instead recall this little rarity ;-)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDwqmitdk40

Where do you live ... Devon, Surrey or Lincoln

There was certainly no shortage of hate and vitriol on Twitter and Message Boards towards LoLvren last season and earlier this season. Typical "we are the victims" attitude blaming Southampton Fans for his action (although of course we were not totally blameless either!!)

Played with an absolute stonewall Poker Face. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time

Not my sort .... I think Pelle is lush in a non gay way though

My last ever visit to the old place ... was a very emotional day for me indeed. Certainly didn't want my last visit to be a tonking by those scouse cooonts

Totally agree with that view. Definitely influences the ref, not wanting to Red Card somebody who may well be trying to get the ball, but commits a foul.

Running across Lovren whilst trying to get towards the goal FFS. Should he have turned left towards the corner flag instead???? Arm across the back, easy penalty. But if we insist on letting Coutino space and time to cut in and shoot yet again then we are doomed anyway. WTF is it with Sturidge .. pretty sure Saints Fans have seen him play and score more than 99% of Liverpool fans!! Tadic has been pedesstrian - get Mane on.

Post-Match Reaction: Stoke City 1-2 SAINTS
ericofarabia replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
You are joking aren't you? I love Pelle, but the amount of work, tackles and good runs Long made today far outweighed Pelles overall performance. Obviously his goals won the game but Long was far more impressive all over the pitch. -

Immense performances by VVD and Shane Long. Steven Davis did a lot of good work as well. A massive result in keeping our season alive ... and once again Koeman defies all logic with his line up and comes up trumps again!! Being just 3 pts behind Man U really makes our shocking results/performances against the likes of Sunderland, Villa, Norwich and Bomo so crucial. -
Yay ..... get in Pelle. Watching from Tignes, taken a few hours off the slopes to watch this and well worth it so far!!
-
Will we be seeing you at Barasti on Saturday? The good form seems to have coincided with virtually all The Dubaisaints ditching their SFC gear and wearing grey!! I'll be sticking with my Red training top.

Hope the thunder and lightening and hail/rain later on didn't ruin their stay here!! At least the temperature barely dropped below 20c

Stolen from The Mush Bible on FB .... I knew he was good but this is simply unbelievable!! https://www.facebook.com/theMUSHbible/videos/vb.1463640217221915/1676384292614172/?type=2&theater¬if_t=like Quality not brilliant but you'll get the message pretty quickly. My Man Love for him has gone off the scale now!! I have not previously looked at his playing stats but he scored 239 goals in 689 games. I believe he played midfield for a while, but mainly he was central defence. Most attackers would be delighted to have those kind of figures against their name. In 17 playing seasons he only failed to reach double figures in 4 of them including his debut season!! We are indeed honoured to have him as our manager and I pray he signs on for another contract.

Post-Match Reaction: Swansea City 0-1 SAINTS

Just beaten to it, but I'd say the keeper was the one who collided with Fonte, not the other way round. Also just before the pen incident the ref should have awarded us a free kick as Gomis fouled Fonte in the build up. Fortunately our disallowed goal didn't affect the overall result. #WeMarchOn
