Supposedly one of those was on the cusp of joining Inter Miami, but chose to stay at saints instead.

Southampton 0-1 Leicester - Match Thread
Saint Garrett replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Need a big improvement from last night (obviously) Personally think that Walcott Bednarek and Redmond played themselves out of contention last night. Don't think the CM partnership of Diallo & JWP really seems to work, but there are no alternatives Forster; KWP Vestergaard Salisu Bertrand; Diallo JWP; Armstrong Djenepo; Ings Adams. -
Thats because they were reviewing a possible red card, they wouldnt have rescinded the yellow card had it not been a foul, (I think) But you're right, its stupidly confusing.
-
Don't think they can use VAR for yellow cards, I might be wrong though.

A fair point...my point was more about the league season, after having 30 points in January, and only being sat on 36 now, is a massive disappointment. But yes, of course if you said at the start of the season would I be happy with a cup semi final and staying up, then yes of course. But I was more focusing on the league performance after eing where we were...
-
Great stuff. Hopefully Ings stays this summer, and our younger players will have another years experience. Ralph needs to learn from his mistakes, because this season has turned into a massive disappointment but I do think he is the right person for the job, and I 100% back him.
-
I like him, he’s a good player at our level. Does a huge amount of work off the ball, and holds the ball up well. Needs to work on his composure, but probably worth 10-15 goals a season if he’s playing most games.
-
He was fine, Nothing spectacular but did the job he was brought on to do. Got a long way to go, but he’ll only learn with game time.
-
Matter of opinion....I think he'd be lost in Ralphs system, his work rate was never brilliant.
-
Think we signed Gaston Ramirez instead
-
Let’s be honest, we’re not going to sell Ings for ca £20m and buy Abraham for the £40m off that he’d cost to buy. He’s had seasons on loan, IMO he won’t be going out on loan again. IMO there is no way we’ll be signing “name” players such as Abraham and Loftus-Cheek as we simply cannot afford them. They’re probably both already earning more than our highest earners.
-
He’d also still cost £30m+ and £80k a week. Unless we can get him on a cut price deal, he’s not going to be coming to us. More likely to go somewhere who will spend money.
-
If I’m honest, actually I think he is getting to the point where people say, he is the best in the league at free kicks. And possibly up there with the best in the world. You can make a case for a bunch of players, though I wouldn’t put Ronaldo in that argument as I simply don’t think he’s that good at them. Messi however is much more comparable with his technique.
-
JWP > Ronaldo at free kicks.
-
Not sure he is a "much better player". Personally, right now, I think JWP is better than him, but they are also different types of CM's. He is younger, and clearly a very good talent, but he's being quoted at £80-100M...which is anything, supports the argument than JWP is a £40-60m player, certainly to us.
-
I don't disagree, because clubs are releasing some awful financial figures...BUT.....Not a huge amount seemed to change last summer regarding spending. I think it will be really interesting to see how the market reacts this summer.
-
It's been removed apparently, they're changing it and going to reupload. not sure why...
-
Impossible to say right now given Covid world....but if he was at his current level, pre covid, it should be upwards of £60m IMO. He's got everything, and massively developed his game. I think anything below £40m is an insult personally.
-
Both rules were introduced in field hockey, appreciate its not the same game...but it stopped a lot of the whining and fake injruies when a player can play a quick free kick to himself without the whistle having to go, you soon get no-one arguing with the ref. Would be interesting to see how getting rid of offside would affect the game tactically.
-
Despite us being pretty woeful for the last 3 months....could be any of the below... Armstrong JWP KWP Vestergaard
-
Yup agree. He also seems to be quite an emotional player, he's excellent when he's confident and has self belief, but when he questions himself he goes massively into his shell. A few years ago, it seems someone put an arm around him, and he was the main man and he thrived. The last 12 months or so, he's struggled a bit with injuries, and not been the main man, it's almost that he struggles to be motivated. He's an odd one that's for sure, but I do believe we're a better side when Redmond is on the pitch and playing well.
-
He also offers a lot in other aspects of being a striker, hold up, link play, pressing etc, he’s also not that old. Finishing needs some work. I like hit and think we’re a better team with him in it. Redmond too.
-
Well Minamino does absolutely nothing to influence a game, and Walcott is injured. Tella was awful last week. Djenepo you could make an arguement for, but IMO not through the middle. Everyone is entitled to their opinion...
-
I'm yet to see a manager not criticised for not having a plan B, City fans say the same about Guardiola, Spurs fans said the same about Pochettino etc... It's just one of the standard things football fans say.

Absolutely dreading this game. Should win, but we are in terrible form, and they have players to hurt us. I think it will be very evenly matched, but I worry massively about our leaky defence coupled with our lack of goal threat. I would like us to keep the same system, and try and get a bit of confidence. Forster KWP Vestergaard Salisu Bertrand Armstrong JWP Diallo Djenepo Adams Redmond
