  1. A couple of wins against a poor Villa side, and a very poor Norwich side, and we can really start looking upwards.
  2. Not sure I agree that Howe is better than Bruce. Wouldn't be surprised if Benitez is out the door soon too, the bloke is the Spanish Allardyce
  3. Emery or Howe...2 completely different types of manager. Bit strange from Newcastle tbh.
  4. Had a bet builder on at the weekend, and needed Targett booking for £100 off a fiver! Feel a bit hard done by tbh
  5. Benitez is a fraud. If he was English, he’d be in the same bracket as Allardyce. Plays dreadful football too.
  6. Probably his best game so far for us, and clearly a player in there, but my word he’s so wasteful. You can get away with that in the championship, but he needs to learn to be way more clinical, or he just won’t make it in the premier league. Plenty of positives so far though, and hopefully he can improve that part of his game. If he was clinical he could have had 5 or 6 for us already this season.
  7. They're miles ahead of us these days anyway.
  8. Nope. Could see him at Newcastle though if the money was right for him.
  9. He’s got a song too, similar to Cedric song. “Heeeee’s Brazilian, he only cost seven million, and we think he’s fucking brilliant, it’s Lyyyyaaaanncccoooo” Would be nice to hear it at Watford if he gets a start.
  10. Only this season it’s been per ticket rather than per transaction. Guessing this pays for the ticketing system which is utter shit, and the physical tickets / envelopes etc. Annoys me way more than what it should,
  11. Yup, superb performance from him tonight. MOTM. Cult hero incoming,
  12. For me: Macca; Tino Bednarek Salisu Perraud; JWP Romeu; Armstrong (S) Redmond Broja Djenepo. In reality it should be any 3 from Armstrong (S), Redmond, Elyounoussi, Djenepo. Walcott should be nowhere near the first XI, doesn’t deserve to be there ahead of any of the others. Same with Armstrong (A), and Adams IMO.
  13. Thought he played very well tonight, he’s not the greatest for sure, but let no-one down tonight.
  14. I really hope I do not see Valery on the teamsheet, let alone at CB. But, maybe he can just surprise us all. I wouldn't have him in the 11 personally.
  15. I guess it’s Valery vs Small and KWP plays the other side. Salisu and Lycano in the middle? Forster in goal, Diallo Romeu, Armstrong Tella Armstrong Adams….
  16. Summer 2023, so 18 months ish...I don't disagree, especially last 10 mins on Saturday, I'd have much rather seen Tella come on and have a go at them than Armstrong. But feels like there is something going on, or surely he would be playing, at least he'd be coming on, as he's a different type of player to the rest of our "wide players"
  17. Seemed to get injured during the celebrations and then stayed on for another half hour limping about. He can’t play tomorrow anyway, so hopefully back fully firing next Saturday, we’ll need him.
  18. I assumed it was something to do with his contract. He’d surely be more involved otherwise.
  19. Couldn’t care less. I’d rather a full ground and clog a few tickets on the cheap.
  20. In fairness, he’d looked really poor at the start of that season, and that Sheff Utd cup game was a disgrace all around, and Mane looked like he’d never played football before. Then a few weeks later, just before he buggered off to the ACON, he smashed Chelsea and gave Terry the run around and never looked back. He deserved criticism at that time, his performances were rubbish, but he also got a huge amount of praise in the follleimy months. That’s football, He turned a corner. Some wrote him off, some realised he had potential and it was a matter of trying to unearth it. Gave us all a lesson (including myself) not to write off a young player too quickly, especially one who has come in from another country!
  21. Agree he's here to break into the first team, though he's going to be behind Perraud and KWP there. If we get a few injuries, or we have a bit of a cup run, I think we could see him come off the bench or get the odd start. Potentially even as a LW
  22. He's definitely turned a corner after a very poor season last season. The clubs decision to stick with him, and get him to sign the new contract seems to have settled him down. Still would like us to invest in a better keeper next summer, but would be happy for them to battle it out as no 1.
  23. It's ridiculous. On the way back I think I found a return for about £20 back to Southampton from Norwich, but if I go back to Basingstoke its about £80. Exactly the same trains. Ridiculous. Ended up just sucking it up in the end, and bought tickets yesterday. Long old day, hopefully we can nick 3 points.
  24. They're class, love it. Been so many crap ideas over the years....cough "My Way", but this is superb and simple.
  25. Yeah, what a fantastic trip. I think the majority of us fully well knew it was not going to happen again for a long time.... That side... Forster 6; Martina 6.5, Yoshida 6, Van Dijk 6, McQueen 6.5; Hojbjerg 6, Romeu 6.5, Ward-Prowse 6.5; Tadic 6 (Boufal 73 6); Rodriguez 6.5 (Davis 78), Long 6 (Austin 48 6.5). Not the strongest...can't remember who else we had that season but Cedric, Bertrand and Fonte were missing, can't remember whether that's because we were playing the "squad game" or whether it was just our strongest team at the time? (Fonte I know had gone "awol" and left out of european games run)
