For me Ralph got his selection and tactics right (given the clear difference in quality, known in advance) ! 1-1.at HT was a fair reflection of play and gave us a platform to move on with even although we were unable to do it ! Hard to blame the manager for Stephens blunder or the soft penalty and thereafter we were overrun (all of their subs would be first choice almost anywhere else) ! No shame in today’s performance at all, just have to accept that Arab money trumps all 😩 !

I agree with many / most of the opinions made on here so far but would like to add a couple of points : a) We were never as bad before this run as some would have us believe ! We dominated play and often didn’t get the results that our quality deserved (Wolves, Burnley etc…). b) Opinions are largely “outcome driven” so a last minute blunder sets the scene for negative comments across the match as a whole ! c) Broja has provided an outlet with pace and power which we never had before so it’s critical that we work on a replacement for the summer as it looks increasingly likely that we’ll struggle to hold on to him 😩 d) Ralph has had a ‘building block’ approach since day one and after 3 years his vision is becoming reality so credit to him and his team ! Not sure how relevant this is to the thread but my 12 year old grandson plays at the highest level of water polo in his age group in South Africa ! He once came out of the water with great weals and scratches on his back and said to his (very fit, very young and very tasty female coach) "this is out of order, what can I do about it" ? Her response was " grab them by the balls and squeeze very tight" ! Strangely the problem seems to have been solved ! I'm guessing that Ralph went to the same sort of school as she did 😇
