  1. Another shambles from the Government. What was that Gavin Williamson quote? Something like "increasing A-Level grades will mean a whole generation might end up promoted beyond their capabilities." A bit like you then you complete cretin.
  2. I heard it's Man City at home. Messi's first match. Suddenly people who weren't going to buy season tickets will be clamouring to get one in case they are successful in the ballot.
  3. Do you call mumps the Greek disease, or chicken pox the Persian virus? Foot and Mouth was first discovered in the US, so presumably you were banging on about the American disease to your friends when the outbreak occured here a while back. You know it's only 5 letters to type Covid but 13 to type it your way. Think of all that time you could be saving.
  4. Jon Richardson is alright. What annoys me a bit is the closed shop which TV comedy has become. You need the right agent or friends to get a look in. There's loads of great comics about, some who are far funnier than some of the people that turn up on panel shows week after week. Paul McCaffrey has been putting on some decent shows around Winchester during lockdown. He's very good and has booked some big names too. Romesh was there a couple of weeks ago (not a massive fan of but he is a huge name)
  5. They really could still have had the exams. Schools shut in March which was only 2 months before exams started so most kids would have already been reasonably prepared. Provisions could have been put in place for schools to concentrate on continuing pretty much full time education for Years 11 & 13. Most could have been done remotely and then through small groups in schools for revision sessions just before exams which could have been staggered, different papers for different days. They could have been marked to take this into account.
  6. I guess it depends on your preference for team goal vs individual brilliance. Djenepo's goal at Sheff Utd was sublime. He made someone fall over and a defender punch the air in anger. Redmond at Chelsea is a ridiculous team goal, slightly tarnished by the assist being made by one of their defenders but I'd still go for that. Enjoyable to watch those again, we have scored a few bangers this season.
  7. Celtic v Rangers should be number 2 and Wisla v Cracovia isn't in there for some reason. As far as UK games not mentioned so far I'd have thought Burnley v Blackburn would be in with a shout too.
  8. Let's hope so. At least watching U15 football is allowed. Sholing boys have got a couple of tasty matches coming up in Pompey which should be fun. There will be more people watching those games than some teams get in the Wessex league which shows how ludicrous it all is.
  9. I wonder if question marks over his commitment are driving a possible sale. There's been previous issues with his diet and he certainly doesn't seem to carry out instructions on the field, seemingly happy to jog around rather than get properly involved in the pressing game which completely falls apart if one player doesn't do it correctly.
  10. The fact that they are still pissing around with banning fans all the way down to Step 7 is a complete joke. What do they think is going to happen? Sholing and Totton aren't suddenly going to get 4 figure crowds.
  11. Not sure why anyone would want to live in Monaco rather than Southampton. It's not like they have West Quay and easy access to the New Forest.

    Coronavirus

Less than 650 people in hospital with Covid now. 57 on ventilation. Some hospitals have 0 cases. There were 4 people in Southampton general on Friday being treated.
  13. More money spaffed up the wall. More friends or relatives of the Tories given dubious contracts. https://amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/aug/07/its-taken-just-12-months-for-boris-johnson-to-create-a-government-of-sleaze
  14. Seem to remember quite a few of our fans giving Boric stick when he first joined which culminated in the bottle being thrown at some idiot who probably deserved it. Suffice to say they were all wrong because he was decent.
  15. Daily Echo is owned by Newsquest. Most of their local papers are written by low paid, new journalists who rarely visit the area they are published in.
  16. 8000 so I heard this evening.
  17. That's good news. When I renewed my tickets I had a chat with the bloke and he said it would be some sort of ballot, which for starters is the fairest way. However I don't think you could just lump all season ticket holders into one ballot for every home game because that raises the possibility of some people being lucky and going to say 3 out of 3 games while others are unlucky and miss out completely. There's also the complications of groups. If my 11yo was selected but I wasn't then he obviously wouldn't go by himself. For some this is also true of non-family groups of ST holders. A guy at work was saying today that he'd be unlikely to go to a game by himself if none of the mates he sit with were successful in the same ballot. Do you weight it towards those who have had ST's for longer? That's a potentially risky process too. Is someone whose had a ST for 15 years more worthy of someone that's had one for 2 years but previously held a membership and went to most games anyway. It's probably impossible to please everyone.
  18. Well done Harrogate for winning promotion. Nice to see a new team in the football league.
  19. Bloody Leicester with all their money and the promise of European football beating us to another signing.

    Coronavirus

Lower the age you can buy alcohol in a pub to 12 and let all the kids go out and get pissed after school. Might as well start them off as alcoholics now. Most kids will end up one anyway considering they'll be the generation having to cope with the mess our one will leave them with. 😂

    Coronavirus

I would, but then I don't go to pubs very much. If I do go to them it's normally for a meal as well.

    Coronavirus

I wonder if the uptick in infections in Southampton is because of the mass testing that's going on here?

Is it because increased targeted testing is picking up more asymptomatic people? One thing I don't understand is why the death figures that are released every day are still quite high. There were something like 9 deaths in hospital yesterday but 140 or so deaths announced. I know they are including anyone dying with covid on the figures but what is the motivation for doing so? Is it because they don't trust the public not to start going out and having mass gatherings and spreading the virus? That's kind of happening anyway on beaches, in parks and gardens so not sure it's the overriding motivator. The government are keen to reopen the economy but announcing high death figures is only going to discourage people from going out and spending money.
  24. He's given his brother a peerage now. It's just shameless. Oh and at a time when Russian influence in politics is under question he grants one to Egbeny Lebedev.

Should be easy to pimp out some of the posters to sexually frustrated housewives. There's a load of massive cocks on here.
