Was that 6 golds today? 2x Rowing 1x Cycling 3x Athletics Or have I missed any? As for the cycling then Ed Clancy could win gold in the Omnium tomorrow. He's 4th placed after 3 events, with 2 of his strongest to come. There's also a very good chance that Jason Kenny and Victoria Pendleton will win golds in the sprint. There's still the madison but that's a crazy event and impossible to call.

And somewhere in a stadium in Cardiff 80000 people may as well be watching tumbleweed drift past.

Traditional like the Olympic Flame? Did the Nazis invent her too?

Oh FFS sake I turn over to the football and Jonathan Pearce is banging on about her now and what an inspiration she is.

Bracing myself for the white knuckle ride of the 10000m. Well done to Rutherford. Quality win. Right, I'll say it. Isn't the amount of hyperbole surrounding Ennis just a but too much? Yes she's clearly good and has achieved something amazing, but then so have all the gold medal winners and the media really do seem to go over the top about her. If she was a munter there's no way they'd bang on about her quite so much.

Golden postbox for us in Hamble then. Well done to Dani King. Really hoping Murray wins 2 golds, mainly because it will annoy all the weird people who dislike him. Like dune.

GB Men's hockey team jizzing on Pakistan 3-0 at the moment and that is definitely Dan Harding who is the best player on the pitch and just scored the 3rd.

I travelled from Hampton Court across to Waterloo and on to the Excel in rush hour yesterday and it wasn't all that busy at all. Reports are that many Londeners are working from home or leaving early. And yes there are thousands of guides, stewards and security everywhere all of whom seem very clued up. In regards getting tickets, yes you will need to register on the official website but do check late night/early morning for released tickets as they are coming on sale. People were buying athletics tickets yesterday.

I like the way they list booking fee under our transaction history online. Maybe we will get loyalty points for the booking fees too! Also I couldn't log in at first, got a new password but that didn't work either. Rang the ticket office and they sorted in under a minute. Fair play to them. -
Had an amazing day. Got the train to Kingston form Parkway (conveniently changing at Wimbledon) and saw some of the women's time trial. Walked through a huge park behind Hampton Court, vaulted a fence and ended up 150m from the finish line of the time trial just where the last corner was by the big screen. Train up to Waterloo, then onto Excel for the boxing where the £30 tickets I bought this morning got me sat with loads of athletes in prime seats. Saw 2 Brits, both of who won and was back in Waterloo 30 minutes after the end in plenty of time for the 0030 train back. Loved it. Even saw a random Venezualan with a medal at Canning Town, stopping to have photos with anyone who wanted them. Have to day London is a very good place to visit at the moment. Everyone is happy and friendly, strangers are actually taking to each other and no one seems to be rushing about and looking stressed. Just brilliant.

Just bought tickets for the boxing tonight. 2 Brits fighting so atmosphere should be great. There were loads of other tickets for today available earlier although they went really quickly. Tried to get some for Basketball but the system just wasn't having it. Would have gone to the table tennis too but not paying £125 as the cheaper few tickets just went in no time.

Got back from Wimbledon a while ago, a top day out. Tennis is great live and it made me feel a bit of a chump that I'd never bothered trying to get any tickets to see it before. We watched the ridiculous Tsonga vs Raonic match which finished 25-23 in the 3rd set. Not quite the 3 day epic of Isner vs Mahut but no doubt an Olympic record that will last for a while. It went on so long they reorganised the schedule so there was only one game after that which was Heather Watson getting battered by a very impressive Maria Kirilenko.

Been really enjoying it so far, although with the BBC coverage this year the choice of sports to watch is just overbearing. Can't wait for the track cycling to start as it's probably my favourite part. Off to Wimbledon today with my nipper. On Court 1 so may be at the mercy of the weather for a while, but if so at least I get to sit on the hill and watch Andy Murray play on the big screen with the rest of the Mail reading flag wavers. Now, where did I put my plastic Union hat?

That assault on Bellamy was hilarious.

He lost the bloke for the goal and didn't mark their striker who missed badly with a header. Other than that he was fantastic. Awful atmosphere in the stadium.

Looks like they've managed to rustle up a team for the Brighton game. 1-0 own after 4 minutes by all accounts. Pompey team v Brighton: Preece; Dumbuya, Magri, Webster; Harley; Sam, Gillett, Howard; Harris; Walker, McLeod. Subs; Lopez, Perez, Wallace, Westwood, Thompson, Colson, Butler. Rodgers and Eastwood nursing knocks so absent.

Richard Branson should set up a Virgin team to do just that! And yes, Thomas looks like he could mature into a GC contender but I see him as more of a classics rider, he could definitely win a bunch of them in years to come. There's loads of other incredible young British riders coming through too like Ben Swift, Peter Kennaugh and Luke Rowe. But yes, wow, just wow. That was the best sporting event ever as far as I'm concerned. Very jealous of all the Brits in Paris today, there appeared to be thousands and thousands of them. Heard on the radio earlier that Froome will ride the Vuelta in September. Would be just brilliant if he won that.

Incredible again. Just a ridiculous win. For all of us that have been watching British cycling for 20+ years this is payback time. It wasn't that long ago we didn't even have anyone in the tour and now we are pretty much owning the whole sport. Soon we could plausibly be home to the Tour de France winner & runner up, plus the World and Olympic champion. Nuts.
