If this comes off, and we add another player or 2 then it's plausible that a lot of us will be seeing the best Saints team in our lifetime.

No self respecting football fan books a holiday to coincide with the football season. There's been plenty of time inbetween the end of last season and the start of this one to go away.
-
"He's Rickie Lambert, he scores when he wants" was also good and surprisingly the only use of that tune the whole afternoon.
-
I want to watch him play in our team so much it hurts. Just imagine him and Lallana flicking the ball to each other, twisting round players and ghosting into spaces with sublime skill. It's going to be incredible.

Quite a few people did. I didn't join in but it was quite funny at the time.

Considering we are buying these through Stevenage I'm presuming we don't get any extra loyalty points (or whatever they are) added to our account for this? Also, and maybe I'm just being thisck here, but can we see online how many points we have? I can look at my transaction history but can't find anything to do with what points have been gained.

It's the first home game of the season, and our first home Premier League game after being promoted. Those 2 reasons mean we should sell out, it matters not who we are playing. It might rain though, so best just stay in and listen to Solent while cracking one off with one hand and posting on here with the other.

He's also wearing a t-shirt (homemade) that says "I OFF". HE's just using his right arm to obscure the writing underneath that says "to Southampton"

Don't worry about the queues for the toilets, people let you through pretty quick if you are with a small child.

I quite liked the gaps in the middle of the lower tier. Meant we could stand where we wanted to and had more room to go completely mental when we scored.
-
If we sign a couple more players then maybe we'll send them out on short term loans.
-
When I saw the line I up I presumed Rodriguez would be playing up top and Guly out wide. When I saw them line up on the pitch I presumed they'd be switching positions during the game. Shows how much I know. Good start from Adkins, he'll gain a lot of respect for that.

After yesterday I think we'll win this about 7-0.

It was bedlam celebrating the second goal. I'm not sure I could have coped with a third if we'd scored again! Echoing the above, it's now one of my favourite away games ever. The team, to a man, were magnificent and so were our fans. Oh, and considering the media are currently comparing football to the Olympics I'll add this to the discussion: the pure adrenalin rush and release of joy when we scored yesterday, well you just don't get that at the Olympics. You can keep your 3 gold medals in 45 minutes or whatever it was, I'll take dancing down the steps and leaping around by the advertising hoardings of the away end after going 2-1 up at the Etihad anyday.

My son has a subscription to the Beano. It's pretty good to be fair and most of the strips are still funny. He's bought the Dandy a few times but it's quite strange now and I'm not really sure what market it's aimed at these days so I can't say I'm surprised it's going to shut. Looks like they'll be moving a few of the characters over to the Beano which will make that stronger too. I was a real Roy of the Rovers fan as a kid, it was pretty much the only magazine I bought. Rick Stewart was my hero.

Classic.

He's at the Telegraph now after the Guardian laid a bunch of staff off a while back. From his twitter earlier (come on trousers, where are ya?) Matt Scott @diggermattscott Telegraph today: Portsmouth Supporters' Trust rescue bid underfunded, putting Pompey on the brink of liquidation http://soc.li/21Jx1s

I'd find the pain of listening to Level 42 on loop unbearable too.
-
We'll sign a couple of players and be fine. I would suggest people stop stressing about it, but for some perverse reason it's amusing to see them spewing out a bunch of reactionary, thoughtless twaddle, so I won't.
-
Has someone taken over delldays account? What's happened to all the sentences finishing with... ?
-
There were a few swimmers from Pompey but none of them got anywhere. Surprising really as you'd think they'd be amazing, what with their training sessions consisting solely of them trying to swim away from the place as quickly as possible.

Everytime I look at this thread I just can't help but to sing this song.

Quality draw, I always like playing lower league teams away and this comes with the added bonus of being a new ground for me.
-
Are all of these lyrics by that fu.cking overrated tw.at Pete Doherty? Football fans in predictable music taste shock.

I was just looking at one where some of their fans have lumped money on them tonight. Darren Purse to score anytime at 12/1 looks a decent bet. http://www.pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=70201
