  1. Haven't read this thread before but if "for sure" (and even more fu.cking annoying "f'sure") hasn't been mentioned it cu.nting well should have. Also the use of pointless plurals. "The Man Utd's, Chelsea's, Arsenal's of this world." F.uck the f.uck off. C.unts the lot of you.
  2. Our resident Rangers fans won't be happy if he signs.
  3. It's all about timing eh? What an innings from Luke Wright. And to think I've always said he's not good enough to play for England.
  4. Always wondered how people find the time to smoke that much. You'd pretty much have to be lighting up another a few minutes after putting one out. I've never been a heavy smoker. About 15 years ago at the 'peak' of my habit I would smoke up to 10 a day but now I feel awful if I manage to get through that many (this only happens at football or festivals) and won't smoke for a good few days after. I can't begin to understand how it must feel to plough through 4 times that many.
  5. Home matches are only half of the games though. How do you feel about having to pay £49 to go to the Etihad rather than £15 for the terrace at Peterborough? What about more games getting moved and not knowing what days to book trains on or book off work? All these things need to be taken into account when I mull over where I'd like Saints to be. Supporting a team isn't just rocking up at St Mary's for 50% of our games and sitting in a seat your Dad paid for. I'm not fussed who we are playing. I go to see Saints and if along the way I get to see some world class footballers then that's a bonus. Seeing Jonathan Forte scoring against MK Dons gave me the same rush as watching us beat Man Utd 6-3 (or 3-1, or 1-0) at the Dell.
  6. Conversation earlier: Pompey Fan - I've been given a ticket to your game on Saturday. Me - That's lucky for you. Pompey Fan - Yes. I did wonder if I should bother going though, it might be a bit pointless. (He chuckled while emphasising the word 'pointless' here in the hope I'd get his joke) Me - Oh. Well technically you currently have minus 5 points. At this point (ha ha) I turned to the woman I was working with and explained that he supported Portsmouth. She looked at him and said: "Do Portsmouth still even have a club?" There was no coming back for him from there. If someone with a passing interest in football thinks your club no longer exists you really have slipped off the radar.
  7. I do. Mainly when I'm out. Just goes so well with a beer.
  8. Saw this half an hour ago: Michael Vaughan ‏@MichaelVaughan Roger the rum man tells me Rafa could be on his way to Southampton soon...... Whoever this 'Roger the rum man' is I do not know, however most of the stuff he's said that Vaughan tweets does happen. He was way ahead of anyone with Van Persie going to United and the same with a bunch of info about the England cricket team. Just adds a bit more intrigue to the situation.
  9. Ahem
  10. I thought Ramirez looked great. Head up, beautiful touch, comfortable dribber, strong and lively. Very much looking forward to seeing some sexy link up play between him and Lallana this season.
  11. If Redknapp came back I'd move my season ticket over to the expensive seats behind the dugout so he could hear every word of the abuse I'd hurl at him.
  12. The atmosphere in our end was rubbish yet we still comfortably outsung Arsenal. 55000 or so of them, 6 goals and barely a peep.
  13. Ameobi played 90 minutes for them. Report here: http://www.nufc.co.uk/page/Match/Report/ReservesReport/0,,10278~2919074,00.html
  14. I'm going Arsenal 3-2. We seem to like that score against the top teams. 28/1 in a few places. £5 on that pays for my day out.
  15. Was just listening to 5Live in the car and they were going on about the perfect hat trick. One header, one left foot, one right. Has Lambert done this for us? Surely Matty did but I actually remember any off the top of my head. Anyone know?
  16. I'll give him a bit tomorrow. If he'd stayed we would have clearly won the league and I'd have been £450 better off. Therefore he's a pr.ick..
  17. Also good that motorbikes will now be free. Should have always been that way especially as it saves them sodding about trying to get 20p out of their pocket and holding up the queue.
  18. Looks like the Smartcities card can be purchased by anyone whereas the tokens have only been for Southampton residents and therefore not people like me who due to the bizarre boundary lines live within Eastleigh borough. That's good.
  19. Toll booths going, installing those bucket things you have to lob money into which don't give change. I guess this saves the council money on wages for the workers who sat in the little booths. Those blue lights on the bridge are pretty though, so if they are cutting costs due to overspend on those I'm all for it.
  20. Time to rejuvinate this team. A midfield of Wilshire, Ward-Prowse and Lallana with Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain on the wings and Rooney up front would wipe the floor with everyone. We could also play Clyne at RB instead of Johnson and stick Lambert on the bench incase we are somehow losing.
  21. Sadly not. We got hammered by the worst team in the country. An inglorious end to an otherwise encouraging season.

That. My mates were in the pub outside the ground which didn't have a tv on and I caught the park & ride into the city centre and went record shopping. We heard a few bits but had no real idea what was going on until putting the radio on in the car after the match.

I was at the Withdean as any Saints fan should have been. Didn't really know what had happened until I got back in the car. My mates were in the pub all afternoon, I went record shopping in Brighton so was unaware of the magnitude of it all until after the game.
  24. I support Kent so I'm wanting Hampshire to win this as we can still claim the title if we beat Glamorgan and Yorkshire don't win.
  25. Wiggins. No contest.
