  1. Same for me. There was a time when they started restricting the number of articles I read but that randomly stopped and now it's seemingly all free. I certainly didn't pay.
  2. This craft beer festival at 1865 on 2nd September looks good https://www.belgiumandblues.co.uk/cbs Sadly we're at a festival that weekend but would be there otherwise
  3. Absolutely. From Bucharest on I went to all European games apart from the one in Israel as could only afford 2 of the 3 at the time. As you say there's no guarantee it will happen again so must make the most of it. We sold loads for Milan, I thought Prague was officially sold out but there were some spare seats around. Don't remember how many we sold for Arnhem? Would love nothing more than supporting Saints abroad again. One game there is far more interesting than the league treadmill.
  4. They lost. I'm always jealous of the teams in the European Qualifiers. So many random, interesting away trip possibilities. Imagine supporting Haverfordwest and getting to go to the Faroe Islands. Brilliant.
  5. Oh FFS.
  6. Didn't watch the game but reading reports my take away is that we narrowly lost to a team from the league above while our best player wasn't trying and our defense was largely made up of players who won't be starting there once the season kicks off. Doesn't sound too bad.
  7. Good to get this one done
  8. 4 or 5 years ago Saints suddenly gave 6 week trials to a load of goalkeepers from around Southampton as they realised they were light in this area. One kid went on to get signed but left at U16, the rest were frankly hopeless and it was a bit of a waste of time. It's a very difficult position to master at a young age as you need so many different technical attributes. This is why a lot of keepers don't become exceptional or play regular top flight first team football until they are a bit older.
  9. It's very rare at Premier League level that a keeper comes through that way. You have to go back quite a while to Scott Bevan and then Michael Pope for any of ours I think.
  10. Pretty obvious what song the tune is to I'd have thought. The first line and last lines are the same and the last line features the name of the song.
  11. Leicester v Spurs friendly in Bangkok cancelled because of the weather.
  12. @Master Bates I somehow forgot about this, but was reminded of it when I saw him play it live yesterday. Millbrook Road by Sean McGowan. Video filmed in Millbrook too. Sean also has an EP where the front cover was shot on Weston Shore
  13. Why would he be loaned to a League 2 club when he's already been League 1 keeper of the year?
  14. Work it so SO14 get first dibs on away tickets and then widen it out by postcode. Absolute ban for anyone living in a PO postcode. Don't care how many games you've previously been to, you made the decision to live there and fund their council through paying tax.
  15. Great save by Earps a minute ago. England have looked much better since the subs.
  16. Considering the absolute state of their country it's pretty incredible that Haiti manage to get a team together, yet alone qualify for the World Cup. They'll no doubt get a bit of a pasting today but being there is a great achievement by the team.
  17. Was listening to a report on the radio early this morning where they said 1.5 million tickets have been sold for the tournament which is pretty incredible.
  18. Had a quick look and there's hardly any negative comments about him, the overwhelming mood was one of disappointment that he was leaving and praising his time with the club. However it's football and there's always going to be a few people with different opinions on a player. That thread goes back a bit, some old prolific posters on there who have since disappeared. Whatever happened to that Batman guy? Seem to remember him being quite annoying. Funny that he's never resurfaced under a new login posting similar crap.
  19. I was sat right by the dugouts for that game. Jones was shouting "no foul, no foul" which Lyanco ignored and clattered into their player. Jones turned around looking furious. I laughed.
  20. Holmes comes across as very dull, barely ever notice him apart from the odd Twitter spat with Keith House. Not really sure what he contributes as an MP.
  21. https://bylinetimes.com/2023/07/17/gb-news-star-dan-wootton-unmasked-in-cash-for-sexual-images-catfishing-scandal/ Hopefully this will be the end of him.
  22. Just noticed they have redrawn the constituency boundaries here so at the next election we won't come under Eastleigh and will instead be part of the new Hamble Valley constituency instead. The Eastleigh MP Paul Holmes is standing in Hamble because it's seen as a safer seat while the Tories put up some geeky kid for outside the area as their preferred candidate for Eastleigh.
