Looking forward to the Rowing. Southampton lad (and Saints fan) James Foad is in the Men's Eight, first race tomorrow, final on Wednesday morning when it will hopefully be GB vs Germany for the gold. Good to have a normal working-class lad out there in such an elitist sport.

Saints announce how loyalty point scheme will work

What's the away allocation at the Emirates? I'm guessing we might struggle to fill it, particularly at Arsenal prices. -

That's how I read it. So as a season ticket holder I'll be able to buy tickets for the prawn sandwich brigade, I'm sure many will exploit this. -
And alsos when theys cover the starving natives in hot countries where its uncomfortable to wear clothes You know, like the Costa Del Sols

Masked gunman kills at least 14 people at Dark Knight Rises showing

So he had an Armalite rifle (semi-auto assault rifle), a couple of Glocks, and a Remington shotgun, all legally bought from gun stores over the last few months. Surely that's more guns than anyone can realistically need? Distant relative of a mate of mine was killed protecting his mates in this. Colorado still has the death penalty but hasn't used it for 50-odd years. -

Just so long as there aren't any boobies. Find it amazing that there's nothing stopping you from taking a 5yo to see, for example, Saw or Hostel. I know its typical libertarian America but some common sense does need to be applied to protect people from themselves. -
Not exactly a horror movie but it will give you nightmares - the original Dutch version of "The Vanishing" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096163/ Original version of "The Thing" was very good too.

So, in summary, toast?

We could do more to encourage some fashion sense.

We are genuinely fortunate to have this great Heart facility in Southampton (and fantastic news that the kid's cardiac surgery will continue too). Seven years ago they spent three months fighting to save my Dad's life after multiple cardiac arrests and he's still here now thanks to them - ICD fitted (implanted defibrillator) and their care has meant over the intervening years his heart muscle has actually recovered and repaired previous damage. More importantly of course we've had him for 7 more years than we probably should, and he's got to see Saints win at Wembley again and the glorious return to the Prem. Dr Roberts there is a bloody genius and a genuinely nice bloke who cares about his patients and shows it (so often senior consultants are aloof and lack patient skills). If you're going to have heart disease Southampton is probably the best place in the country to have it.

According to various players on Twitter pre-season training starts today.

Personally I'm enjoying the fact that Rangers have been killed by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs. Kind of ironic.

Not parked there for three years now since changing jobs but I would say no chance of getting a space at that time, always rammed by 9am at the latest

Saw them at Spike Island, it was monumentally ****e. The South Parade Pier gig was epically legendary though, ended up sleeping in Vicky Park in Pompey because they played so late there were no trains back.

Much better off being in the north of the Forest. Fordingbridge to West Quay takes 35 minutes no matter what time of day (in fact it's worse at the weekend due to shoppers/football. But as others have said, no issue at that time of day, just avoid the Cadnam to Ringwood road at all costs.

why has lallana closed his twitter account?

Strange, he'd just got it verified in the last couple of days. -
Now we the ups/downs are sorted, you predictions for next season

League Cup winners and survival will do me. My worry is that there are too many average plodding teams to play and we're not great at those -
Craig Gordon released by Sunderland, good backup keeper?

This. Can you imagine the media scrum if that had happened? Balotelli should probably have been booked, he was clearly inciting. Agree though that they should have just let Kompany and Barton go at it ice hockey style...

"You're short, you're fat, you're not as good as Matt Paul Gascgoine, Paul Gascgoine" was lollable, as was the Ian Wright abuse. Either him or Gazza mooned the Northam as a result. Remembered well because next day I went to Australia for the summer, sat in the bar at Heathrow next day and watched Zidane score an absolute screamer in the CL final.

I'd be delighted to see GSTQ replaced by "I vow to thee my country". British song, set to music by arguably the greatest British composer, places a love of country in the context of sacrifice and a non-denominational other place. Also sounds bloody awesome when belted out, but a bit tricky to sing (no harder than Jerusalem though). It's anachronistic to pledge allegiance to a person (other than Sir Rickie)

Galaxy Nexus is a cracking phone but a little large. I'm very happy with my Nexus S, over a year old, runs ICS well, good screen, good battery life. Cheap now as well.

De Ridder has just tweeted a pic from a 6-wide centre aisle jet so they ain't going far.

League Cup is a realistic goal next season. But more important to stay up..

Its a shame that the reward for ambition is less games and more games at ****ty times. We'll be lucky to have 10 games at 3 o'clock on a Saturday next season. Which actually makes having a ST less attractive.
